This song is great. Classic country. In a just world, this would be a hit, but unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

"Jim And Jack And Hank" debuts at #56 on Billboard Airplay this week. :)
Let's all celebrate this momentous achievement for Alan, lol.

Only 147 total plays--most songs with only 147 plays don't come even close to the top 60. But at least it charted. Barely a dozen stations are playing this, and the main reason it charted is because of a couple of big market stations (including KKGO in Los Angeles. There's also 1-2 Texas stations that are on board). This won't do much, but at least it got on the chart. If only AJ were a new fella, then maybe he could "On The Verge" his way up the chart.. Unfortunately, his time as a radio mainstay has come to an end.

Shame that this isn't going to do anything, but it is nice to see it get on the charts at least. I wonder how high it'll be able to get -- will it outpeak "Let It Go," for instance?

I wonder how high it'll be able to get -- will it outpeak "Let It Go," for instance? I wouldn't bet on it, but you never know. Alan would need to climb 11 more spots and with the amount of stations he's on, that's a hard task. "Jim And Jack And Hank" got just 3 more added this week (14 stations overall), while George actually got 38 total stations by his second week mark. Luckily for Alan he has KKGO as a spin leader (granted, only 14 spins over the past seven day). The three adds this week that "Jim And Jack And Hank" got are 'non' iHeartMedia, CBS or Cumulus stations; with Providence, Rhode Island (#44 ranked market) being the biggest add.

I'm certainly glad to see Alan Jackson's fourth EMI single charting. I hope it at least gets to the top 50 on the airplay chart.

As is usually the case with most Alan Jackson singles, this immediately became just about the best song on the radio upon release.
Unfortunately for many of us, this wonderful song just isn't going anywhere, and the same goes for far too many great songs as opposed to most of the songs currently in the Mediabase top 10, which has been pretty underwhelming for most of 2015.

This is very cute and catchy, it would be fun to hear it make a decent run at radio though not sure how likely.
I do get the ABH comparisons.

"Angels And Alcohol" storms into the UK Country Artists Chart at #1! He's at #85 in the general album chart and thus becomes his 2nd best charting album, only bested by "The Very Best Of Alan Jackson" that hit #47 in 2004.

Only one add this week, which means that only 16 stations have added this.
Country Aircheck reported this afternoon that Alan's Angels and Alcohol album had debuted at #1 on Top Country Albums.
Tonight's Billboard Country Update says otherwise:

Tonight's Billboard Country Update says otherwise: At the very least, Country music is the ultimate victor.

Nielsen did a recalculation, and Jason Isbell came out on top, a few hundred copies ahead of Alan Jackson. Both great albums, though, with great sales, especially considering the lack of airplay.
Unfortunately, Olivia Lane's "You Part 2" has picked up more adds than Alan's single. I just find it hard to believe that radio is so willing to put Alan out to pasture when he's still out-selling most B-listers. His album would've sold a lot more than 45k if it had a top 20 single, too, and if radio folks were using their heads, they'd realize that.
What it all comes down to is this: more people would rather hear people like Alan Jackson and Reba and George, but instead we get Canaan Smith, Michael Ray, and Frankie Ballard. And that's not me knocking those guys (although I'm not really a fan) -- I'm just stating a fact. Artists like Alan and Reba and George still sell way more albums than they do.

A little surprised that he got beat out for the #1 spot by Jason Isbell, mostly because I'm not familiar with him or his music, but still a solid debut for Alan Jackson for having practically no airplay on country radio. I really need to listen to the rest of his album later.

Reba did 59,000 copies the first week Love Somebody came out.

It's best listened to in a quiet moment; definitely no car music when distracted.

I'm probably going to listen to it again today, too and it'll probably also go on my Xmas wishlist. If I get it, it'd be the second album of his that I'd own after Freight Train, which I won for free in a contest.

Well I suppose it may have been a little misleading, but "I really need to listen to the rest of his album later" was referring to Angels and Alcohol. I mean, this was the thread for an Alan Jackson song. But yeah I thought saying 'the rest' of the album was kind of a giveaway since I've heard none of Jason Isbell's, lol.
