This is a poll for your favorite "One Hit Wonder" on the country singles charts since 2000. NOTE: In order to qualify, a song had to hit top 10 on either Billboard or R&R/Mediabase airplay. If an artist had a top 10, but also had a top 15 on either chart, I did not use them. I decided on artists who had one top 10 single and nothing else above the top 15. I also did not count solo artists who had one top 10 single but where previously part of a band or duo who had multiple hits (Heidi Newfield, Tim Rushlow, Ronnie Dunn). I also did not count Uncle Kracker (his duet with Kenny Chesney disqualified him) as well as Bon Jovi, since it wouldn't be fair to call him or his band "One Hot Wonders", lol. I also did not count artists that are newer that are still releasing singles on major labels (Jana Kramer, Cassadee Pope). :) Examples of artists barely missing out: Yankee Grey ("Another Nine Minutes" peaked at #15 on Billboard) Jeff Bates ("Long Slow Kisses" peaked at #12 on R&R) Jessica Andrews ("There's More To Me Than You" peaked at #14 on Billboard) Chuck Wicks ("All I Ever Wanted" peaked at #14 on Billboard) Van Zant ("Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do" peaked at #15 on R&R) * "Forgive" peaked at #10 on R&R in 2002 and "Good Little Girls" peaked at #9 on R&R in 2004, so they do count. :) I've spent far too long going through the past 15 years of the singles charts. You may select up to 8 choices.

So many great songs honestly, and it's not like any of these artists were bad otherwise it's just they weren't lucky. :(
I really Cyndi is the only one who did herself in, I really wish she hadn't walked away when she did, I loved her debut album!

It doesn't matter how many times I go over something...I always forget something. I forgot Steve Azar's "I Don't Have To Be Me Til Monday", lol. How I forgot him when I have a stupid amount of his songs on my iTunes and Spotify is beyond me but oh well. Here's what I'll do; I'll put Steve through to the next poll. That song's really good so just assume he got a bye week. ;)

Take off the vote for Clay if Steve is getting added! I'll keep that in mind, lol. It really isn't a huge deal. There will just be one more song in the second round but I'll still cut it off to four winners (out of 9) moving on to the third round. I'm 99% sure Steve's song would have moved on anyway. That's a tune most everyone loves.

I only voted for 7 - definitely my 8th vote would go to Steve Azar.
Here's how I'd rank them:
01 Brian McComas - "99.9% Sure (I've Never Been Here Before)" (this song is absolutely incredible and infectiously catchy) 02 Steve Azar - "I Don't Have To Be Me ('til Monday)" 03 Greg Bates - "Did It For The Girl" 04 Cyndi Thomson - "What I Really Meant To Say" 05 Mark McGuinn - "Mrs. Steven Rudy" 06 Tommy Shane Steiner - "What If She's An Angel" 07 Sunny Sweeney - "From A Table Away" 08 James Otto - "Just Got Started Lovin' You"

Voted for:
From a Table Away What I Really Meant to Say Forgive Just Got Started Lovin' You
Idk several of these, so if I get time I'll listen to some and possibly vote for a few more.

If we could only vote one, this would be the only choice:
"99.9% Sure (I've Never Been Here Before)" is insanely good. I absolutely love the video.

Only song I like is Sunny Sweeney, so I voted for that one. The others I'm not familiar with.

In case no one noticed, sabre14 said Steve Azar is going to be in the next poll. On a semi-related note though, what about Kellie Coffey? Did "At the End of the Day" peak too high on the other chart? 'Cause I know on BB it didn't make Top 15. sabre14

'Cause I know on BB it didn't make Top 15. sabre14 Believe it or not, "At The End Of The Day" reached #12 on R&R (both of Kellie's first two singles actually lasted quite a long time on the charts, at least what was considered lengthy back in 2002/2003). There's a few artists that fell in that "One big hit and another moderate hit or two" category, lol (Kellie Coffey, Jeff Bates, Jessica Andrews, etc.). I knew I had to cut it off somewhere, and top 15 seemed good enough, otherwise, there would have been 20-25 choices and the poll would have been too much IMO. This way, we could truly get "One Hit Wonders." Also, thanks for clarifying Steve's song. Glad to know someone reads my posts, lol.
