KELLY GREEN 6/23/15 Capitol’s Tori Kelly is looking at first-week sales of 55-65k for her full-length Unbreakable Smile, streeting this week. The set is currently #2 at iTunes, and Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us” is trending Top 30 at Pop radio. The impressive rollout and bow are being fueled by effective marshaling of social media (812k Facebook likes and 563k Twitter followers thus far) to build a foundation for the blonde-ringleted siren’s retail bow. Based on the performance of "Nobody Love", I'm surprised Tori Kelly is projected to sell that much... Even "Everything Is 4" by Jason Derulo which was led off by "Want To Want Me" could only sell 22k in its first week out (granted he's a singles artist but still he's more of an established name). But I guess you could argue that Jason has the "singles artist stigma" or however you wanna call it.
Good for Tori Kelly, though :)

She sold 10K pre-orders in the first week, so you knew this wasn't going to flop. But 55-65K is better than expected (35-45K seemed about right) and just a fantastic start.

Rockers Breaking Benjamin will score a #1 debut next week on both our sales and SPS charts, prompting label chief Ken Bunt to play some wicked air guitar. Thus far, signs point to the new set (now #1 at iTunes) surpassing the band’s 2009 release, Dear Agony, which bowed with 134k. We'll also see impressive bows from Pop siren Tori Kelly, acclaimed Nashville singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves and buzzing soul revivalist Leon Bridges, among others. Here are this week’s key debuts. Breaking Benjamin (Hollywood) 135-145k album sales, 145-155k SPS Tori Kelly (Capitol) 60-65k, 70-75k Kacey Musgraves (Mercury Nashville) 50-55k, 55-60k Leon Bridges (Columbia) 28-33k, 30-35k Teen Beach 2 (Walt Disney) 21-24k, 24-27k ( HDD)

I like Kacey Musgraves- I never got around to getting the first album, so maybe I'll get both simultaneously.

I think that's a good number for Kacey since country radio resists her music.
Impressive numbers for Tori.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6605911/breaking-benjamin-first-number-1-albumBreaking Benjamin Bound for Its First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200By Keith Caulfield | June 24, 2015 10:09 PM EDT Nearly six years after Breaking Benjamin’s last studio album, the band is on course for its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the rock group’s latest release, Dark Before Dawn, could move upwards of 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 28. That should be enough to give the quintet its first leader on the tally. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, July 1. Dark Before Dawn was released on June 23 through Hollywood Records and is Breaking Benjamin’s first album with an almost entirely new lineup. Only its frontman, Benjamin Burnley, remains from its previous incarnation. The group’s last studio set, 2009’s Dear Agony, debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 134,000 sold in its first week. Their high-water mark on the chart came with 2006’s Phobia, which debuted and peaked in the No. 2 slot. Other albums heading for sizable debuts on next week’s Billboard 200 chart include Tori Kelly’s Unbreakable Smile (70,000 units), Kacey Musgraves’ Pageant Material (55,000) and the Teen Beach 2 soundtrack (25,000).

I think that's a good number for Kacey since country radio resists her music. Impressive numbers for Tori. Yes, they resist her music a lot, she needs to start to write about beer, whiskey, tailgates and so on if she wants a hit. Merry go round is probably one of the best country songs in recent years, it's her only top 10, and i'm quite surprised that went that far given the lyrics of the song. Anyway, her album sales are similar to other country artist way more promoted on radio, so good for her

Good for a rock album to reach #1. Haven't had one since Slipknot in last August, I believe.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6612819/tori-kelly-top-five-debut-billboard-200Tori Kelly Aiming for Top Five Debut on Billboard 200 Albums ChartBy Keith Caulfield | June 26, 2015 3:35 PM EDT Rising star Tori Kelly is heading for a top five debut on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart. Industry forecasters suggest the singer/songwriter’s first full-length album, Unbreakable Smile, could earn between 65,000 and 70,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 28. The set was released on June 23 through Capitol Records. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The chart’s new top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, July 1. Unbreakable Smile is Kelly’s first full-length album and was preceded by the singles “Nobody Love” (which reached No. 16 on the Pop Songs airplay chart) and “Should’ve Been Us” (No. 32). Kelly made her Billboard chart debut in 2012 with her self-released EP Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly. It peaked in the top 10 of the Heatseekers Albums chart, and was followed by her debut EP release for Capitol Records: Forward. That set debuted in the top 20 on the Billboard 200 and in the top 10 of the Digital Albums chart. As for the rest of next week’s Billboard 200 chart, watch for rock band Breaking Benjamin to score its first No. 1, as its new Dark Before Dawn could bow with over 150,000 units. Other albums set for top 10 debuts include Kacey Musgraves’ Pageant Material (55,000 units) and Leon Bridges’ Coming Home (30,000).
