If she's already filming the video for the lead single, I would guess they will release the single and video at the same time to create more buzz and help give her a strong debut. If i'm not mistaken, Carrie's lead singles were always available a few days after it debuted on radio. If the new lead single follows the same pattern, then i hope they will drop the single to radio first and make it available for downloads 1 day after, then the next 2 days lyric video on vevo (to help charting position). Music Video can wait 1 or 2 weeks after.

Hmm. "Deja Vu" as the lead single and/or album title?
That, plus her recent Instagram of "Just another day in the office". Both play off of the "déjà vu" theme, and that was WAY too random of a tweet for her to make.

I really do enjoy when Carrie drops subtle, random hints for us all to speculate on.

She's definitely dropping hints. Carrie usually tweets in response to people, so when she tweets about random things like that, you know there's more to it than meets the eye.

You think they're going for a surprise release? Like they're just gonna up and release it randomly in the next few weeks with no announcement? Honestly, I think that would be a very strategic approach. Unlike her album eras in the past, Carrie hasn't had a hiatus from radio. She had a #1 last month, so the thirst isn't as real as it has been in the past. I think a great way to counteract that would be to surprise fans, casual listeners, and radio programmers with a new song. It would create a shit-ton of buzz, probably sending it straight to #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart... just a thought. This has worked well in other genres, I don't see why it wouldn't in country music.

This has worked well in other genres, I don't see why it wouldn't in country music. If it happens, it won't be for another couple of weeks. The Luke Bryan album is the current buzz of the genre, so doing any release in the next week or two, planned or surprise, would likely get overshadowed by the KTL promo.

That's actually the second fake. The first showed "Deja Vu" as the single going for adds on Sept. 4th. Damn trolls!

While we're in the calm before the storm, can we just revisit the flawlessness that is THIS PERFORMANCE. Honestly, one of the best medleys, ever, and the vocals!!!
Her voice sounds absolutely amazing here!

^^ Wow, I had forgotten about that performance and just how ridiculous her vocals were that night (in addition to her look, stage presence, etc). That might be the best she has EVER sounded on a televised performance: A+++ simply perfect.
Thank you for posting this- in addition, that performance reminded me just how perfect the 'Blown Away' era was, which makes the anticipation for the upcoming record even greater.

LOL um wut... .___. The way he says this sounds so weird...
"BC: You’ve also had a lot of hit songs for other artists too. Any certain songs that stand out to you for some of the songs you’ve done with other artists?
Lovelace: Ashley Gorley, Morgane Hayes and I wrote a song “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” It ended up being on Carrie Underwood’s first record. It went to number one. At the time, that kind of gave us the entryway to have one writing appointment with her for her second album, Carnival Ride.
We only had one day with her. Of course, nothing tragic happens if you don’t write a hit. It’s such a great opportunity…you want to take advantage of it. Ashley Gorley and I got together at my house for a couple of nights, brainstorming to get ideas. I had this idea that I came up with when he was on the phone with his wife, trying to see if he could spend the night over here so we could work longer, and of course, play shuffleboard, ping pong, and foosball and stuff like that. Hanging out is very key to coming up with ideas.
I was kind of messing around with the guitar, doing this little run. I didn’t know what the words were, but it ended up being the melody over “beautiful, wonderful perfect all-American girl.” Somehow All-American Girl” popped out. Immediately, I thought we’ve got something. He didn’t like that idea as much as I did at first, so we pitched the other one.
Carrie said, “That didn’t take long. I guess we’ve got time to write another one.” That sounds like something that writers would say, not an artist on Friday at 2 pm in the afternoon with the sun out. My co-writer, Ashley, went out of the room for a minute. I got this one idea called “All-American Girl.” She said, ‘It’s not about me, is it? No, it’s about this guy who wants to have this all-American boy but ends up having this all-American girl. She says, “Oh, that sounds like my dad.” You want to write that? She shrugged her shoulders. I thought gosh, that’s not incredibly affirming. Ashley walks back in. We pitch some other ideas around to her. She was kind of like, yeah, that’s okay or I kind of wrote something like that last week. I thought, I’m going to try this idea in a different way one more time. I said, “Ashley, I pitched her “All-American Girl” idea, but she hated it. She said, “No, I didn’t. I said it was like my dad.” I asked, ” You want to write that?” She kind of shrugged her shoulders again like I don’t know. I said let’s do that. It was one of the most exciting times I’ve had in a co-write. All three of us were on at the same time lyrically, melodically. Once we started going it was really fun and painless, which sometimes writing can be painful. You can still have hits with a song that was painful to write.
For me, recalling the pressure of the moment of that day is one of my favorite stories, because it all lined up right on that day."

New RIAA single certifications today LTG -Gold Wasted & SYA Plat AAG 2X Paltinum BA 3X Platinum BHC 5X Platinum She's a beast! The new era should easily bring her close to 35 million. Honestly so impressive! Seems to me like Sony is quickly getting their priorities straight; favoring and supporting the artists who bring in the most money. I'm predicting some serious changes in the country music landscape over the next couple of years. CMA nominations next month will give us a better idea, but I think Sony is going to start fighting back with their strongest artists after being overshadowed these past few years...

I can't wait. I just want her label to attempt to push a crossover SO bad :'( Maybe with the new management it's possible?... I doubt it. The only way Carrie would get behind pushing a crossover is if the song was crossing over naturally without help... So I wouldn't get your hopes up for that.

I hope the new management will at least give some of her crossover-friendly material/singles from the new album (if there is any, which I'm sure there will be) an adds date. It'd be worth a shot. Plus, I remember there being a deal with Arista NY but then people said it ended and then I heard again a while back (I believe during the BA era) that there was some sort of new deal with them. Anyone know if that's true?

Guaranteed that with the new CEO, the priority will shift back to Carrie since it's obvious she's the most played female in the format

I mean... would it kill her to make it look like her singing at least takes a little effort?

She's been with Carrie since post-pregnancy. Not sure how much longer she'll be with her, either. I can't see her being a long-term replacement. She's getting worse flak than what Andrea received.
