As far as the interview, I haven't been "waiting" for a specific album from Carrie. Someone that records 4 platinum and multiplatinum albums and is this great has been doing great work to begin with. But, as far as hearing a "different" sound does peak my interest. So, obviously, hearing about how the label reacted to the album is something I'm looking forward to. Sept sounds like the month we'll hear the new single.

As great as Carrie's past work has been, I don't think she's reached her full potential yet. Each album has had amazing songs on it, but they've all felt like they were missing something, at least to me. Some Hearts is the one that comes closest to feeling fully complete for me (though Carnival Ride remains my favorite). So I'm one of those people who are still waiting for the album that fully encompasses all that Carrie has to offer. I don't know if this album will be that, but without having heard anything yet it sure seems like she's getting closer to achieving that.
Personally, I find it really exciting to be a fan of someone who has done all these amazing things and yet still has so much more to offer. I'm really excited to see what she's come up with for this project.

I agree. Even if she continued her journey recording music, I would be anticipating it. But, somehow all the news so far seems to add to the excitement. I think we'll be really surprised this time around.

I revisited the Carnival Ride album yesterday (still my fave), and I've been replaying this song over and over. To this day this is still one of my all-time fave Carrie performances, and it was especially touching to be reminded of how wow-ed Robin Williams was at the end (today would've been his 64th birthday).

^ I love that performance too. I love almost all of IKYW live performances actually. But oddly, I'm not a fan of the album track. The lyrics are too repetitive for me, and only her live vocals captured the magic for me.
CR has many great tracks, but imo, it's too loud, production was too much. I guess I am one of those fans who prefer softer Carrie.
I think it's pretty amazing that so many of us are huge Carrie fans for so many years, yet we like different style of songs/albums/performances from her. Talk about wide appeal!

I don't like the album version of IKYW, but Carrie always kills it live. She brings the passion and urgency that the studio version lacks for me. I'm stoked for new music, especially after reading the comments from her label. The one thing Carrie is missing from her discography is a stellar album with no clunkers; I'll be beyond thrilled if she's ready to deliver that. I need an ATOY-caliber album from her already. Carrie seems very aware that she needs to continue evolving, and that's one of the things I find most exciting about her. I feel like she just started to grasp her potential with "Blown Away," and TSOM seemed to be the catalyst she needed to realize what she can do vs. what she has done. She's full of untapped potential, and it's so exciting she seems to fully grasp that now.

"Something in the Water" and "Little Toy Guns" are in my opinion, some of her best vocals put on record. I'm so ready for the vocals on this new album. I definitely have a feeling this will be her most critically-acclaimed album yet. I just hope it's more cohesive and not so 'all over the place' like her last 3 albums have been.

ASCAP now lists Carrie as a performer on "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" - previously titled "Never Knew What I Always Wanted." Based on Carrie's recent interviews and the title alone, this is most likely the song dedicated to Mike & Isaiah. Per Windmills' sources and ASCAP / BMI listings, these are most likely confirmed cuts: Clock Don't Stop - (Daly, DeStefano, Lindsey) Dirty Laundry - (Crowell, Gorley, Lindsey) The Girl You Think I Am - (Hodges, Lindsey, Underwood) What I Never Knew I Always Wanted - (James, Lindsey, Underwood) Get money, Hillary.

I could see that being the album title, too.
I'm giddy knowing this is all so close! AHHHHH!

I love the time before an album comes out when we find out the release date... then we find out the lead single, hear it, binge it, buy it, watch it shoot up radio and sales charts... then we find out the track listing and speculate what the songs are about and what they'll sound like... then we hear snippets and gush or whine accordingly... then the album comes out and we estimate 1st week sales and share our buying stories and obsessively refresh HDD/CF/Pulse when the sales numbers are about to come out... whew!
This particular waiting stretch right now is a bore but the fever is coming!!!

I would love to see how she can top Blown Away because that album was and still is everything.

Album releases are so exciting, but Carrie's are particularly exciting because she literally kills it on the charts every time! And, of course, we get to see her all over TV for a couple of months... that NEVER gets old :)

"Clock Don't Stop" would provide even more press release puns that would run their course after the first week, like what "Blown Away" did. "Underwood's clock just won't stop!" "Underwood's always on the clock!" etc.
Having said that, I'm still DYING to hear what "Poison Apple" sounds like. I could see an entire album era being built off of the mere look of that song title.

I love that she's been including "So Small" in her live sets lately; it's a welcome throwback. This is probably my second favorite live performance of the song, behind only the CMA Songwriters Series rendition.

This is a Hillary Lindsey (...and Ashley Gorley, I believe) song that Hillary performed at the CMA Songwriters series on July 31, 2012, which Carrie was - of course - on the stage for. I would love for this to be on the next album and since it has not been recorded by any artists since, it is definitely a possibility. The song is "Concrete Heart".
Would also make for a beautiful album title.

Looks like she's about to have a business meeting... lol. I wonder what she's doing in LA? Maybe preliminary tour planning?

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. As part of Brad's latest tour, he has a new approach to including Carrie for "Remind Me"... It's pretty awesome

Pretty sure it was posted somewhere in the last thread, but I might be mistaken and just remember seeing it from Twitter or somewhere else. But, still cool!
Also, methinks she might be in LA for album photo shoots and what not. Seems like that time, especially considering new music will be out by mid-September. Just a hunch, but a good hunch.

desertfloods It's pre-recorded. Hahaha... I questioned it at first, too, but it's been a part of every show so far.
