I think "Dirty Laundry" will follow "Church Bells" as the 4th single, and "Renegade Runaway" will close out the era. I think they are going in reverse order on the album's track listing for the singles (tracks 5-1), not to mention that those 5 songs are the ones that had their own themed rooms at the album's release party. The themed rooms are a much more compelling argument than reverse order 5-1 in the track list. I truly don't think that matters. Ever. I'm not saying that the track list matters when it comes to radio singles, I'm just saying that there seems to be a pattern here, which makes me think the singles have been pre-determined. The same way the singles from Blown Away were tracks 1-4 from the album, released in that order.

You know, CB, DL and RR wouldn't be a bad selection of future singles.
I like CCA, but if the label doesn't want to take a risk at radio, it can stay an album track. There are so many good songs on this album, they almost can do no wrong.

If CCA is a single, and that's a big if, it probably won't be until the final single from the album. Even if it's not a single, though, I have a strong feeling Carrie will do a high-profile performance of it. It's a great live song and really shows off a side of her as a performer that not a lot of people have seen before.

My ideal situation would be a Grammy performance next year when the album is up for - and wins - country album.

Can someone explain to me why Carrie has been struggling to sell singles wise this era? I mean her lead single barely sold 500K and the next one is around 300K right now, even will decent promo and #1 on country radio?
Even the singles from her latest Greatest Hits album sold more ( first one sold 1M+ and the second one sold 500K+ )

Carrie is never sold really well singles/digital wise, has she? No. She is a big seller in term of singles sales. In fact, she is the most certified country singer. BHC sold almost 4 million JTTW, AAG, CC, GG, BA all sold over 2 million. BA is almost 3 million. The rests of her singles are mostly Platinum and some of them are Gold. Even her rendition of How Great Thou Art has sold over 500k. The problem with Smoke Break and Heartbeat not selling like her previous singles is because the songs do not connect with listeners. Even some of her fans think that both of these singles are her weakest single ever. Hopefully Church Bells will smash.

I would prefer DL be the next single but CB is great also, if that is the next one. DL should be a mid/late summer hit.

Carrie is never sold really well singles/digital wise, has she? Just the opposite, actually. She's one of the most successful digital artists in all of music. She ranks in the top five females for digital singles, and she's the #1 digital sales country artist.

I remember seeing some totals once and thinking they were low considering most were number one hits

Carrie is never sold really well singles/digital wise, has she? Her total sales are around 30 million. Not bad for the #1 country artist in that category.

The most gorgeous family alive, I swear. Also, apparently cried through WINKIAW at the Detroit concert... that kind of breaks my heart because it was right after Mike's celebration, so I hope she isn't sad because she's away from him and instead was crying tears of joy and appreciation at her life.

So I'm probably reading too much into this, but Carrie's team just tweeted a TBT photo to her on SNL. Maybe she'll be announced soon? She has a couple of Saturdays/Sundays off before the end of May, so although a guest hosting spot is probably out of the question, performing isn't.

Don't forget, Underwood's star has not shone any brighter than it is right now.

It would be a dream come true for her to host and be the musical guest. I started a Facebook fan page for the idea years ago, and it's still up and running.

I agree. Although Carrie is arguably the most successful idol from the show, I think it's going a bit far to suggest that Kelly Clarkson is not a superstar..

From my perspective, American Idol did not make Carrie a super star. Carrie, her talent, her personality, her work in and out of the music industry and all the success she has achieved and sustained over the last 10 years have made her a super star.

So apparently Carrie shot the music video for Church Bells during her concert tonight. Who is in charge of this era?! Dear Lord!

Real shit, whoever is in charge of this era is a bozo - the only way to redeem it is release CCA before Grammy cutoff and film a SPECTACULAR video.

Won't disagree with any of that, but there are of lot of people (both super stars and non super stars) who match all the above criteria. I feel like Carrie may have been a star regardless, but there are many many artists who had the pedigree to become a star and it just never materialized.

I agree but perhaps as Simon would, say the 'likability' factor was missing and of course the elusive, 'je ne sais quoi' factor .
