I have 2 words whenever I see new Jerrod music now. Oh joy (sarcasm). Seriously hope he gets dropped soon. He is the laughing stock of country music.

I agree that his past three singles haven't been good and a couple of them have been downright awful but I think saying this is a little too harsh at this point. The demo is in the first post. Jerrod said he's looking to get back to a more organic feel with this album (more acoustic driven than his last album) and back to songs like "Lover, Lover" and "One More Drinkin' Song."

I'm interested to see where he goes with this. I'm willing to forget about the mess his last couple singles were if this is a good song.

Won't be confusing this one with Red Bandana, the Merle Haggard hit of 1979 (#4).

I have 2 words whenever I see new Jerrod music now. Oh joy (sarcasm). Seriously hope he gets dropped soon. He is the laughing stock of country music. Laughing stock. Absolutely not. He's had a couple Ditties ("Drink To That All Night" and "Lover Lover") hit the top of the charts but he's a fine singer, is knowledgeable about country music's history and more. I get that you don't like him based on those or "Donkey" but have you listened to songs like "Only God Could Love You More," "Whiskey Kinda Way," "I'm All About You," "They Should've Named You Cocaine," "What Do You Want" (a hit), "Old School New Again," "Bakersfield," "One More Drinkin' Song" (another hit)? Because if you listen to those and STILL call him the laughingstock then obviously you've not heard of other artists (Hank Jr. comes to mind).

The CJ Solar demo sounds good and is very promising. Eager to hear Jerrod's studio version.

Ok he just lost a lot of respect with that album to me at least. Besides someone has to fill in that side of Hank Jr. Right well why not get the Donkey guy.

I really hope this can bring me back to Jerrod's side. I know I've given him a ton of crap for his recent schlock, but if he's going back to a more organic, traditional sound then I will be impressed.

My local PM DJ tweeted about Jerrod sending him a new song nobody else has tonight. He does a Pick of the Week-wondering if this may be it. (Not that I will listen to find out, mind you.)

He's really good. I've really enjoyed mostly everything he's released besides Donkey, and I think lots would agree with me.

His last two albums were terrible, but if Jerrod claims he is going back to the sound of his first album, then that is a giant leap back into the right direction.

Gee, I wonder what it may be...lol. ;) I'm wondering if this song might sound a little Bruce Springsteen-ish? That picture seems like a direct copy cat image of this:

^ Jerrod's version is bound to have a different sound and production but the demo version is in the original post. :)
I think this will easily be Jerrod's best single since "Only God Could Love You More." Though out doing his past three singles isn't too difficult of a task.

Jerrod actually HAS the potential to release great songs. His first five singles were great. But then came "High Noon"... I could tolerate "Drink to That All Night", but "Donkey" can't be taken seriously. Hopefully this is more "Lover Lover"/"Only God Could Love You More" than "Drink to That All Night".

WBEE put "Blue Bandana" as their "Music Meeting Song of the Day", so this will be released on July 10th with an add date of either July 20th or July 27th if I had to guess.

The demo actually sounded really great. I love the song. I've never been a Jerrod Niemann fan and "Drink To That All Night" more than solidified that, but if he comes out with material I like, I will probably listen. I'm interested to hear his recording of this, because right now I love the demo enough to just listen to that.

Going for a more "organic" sound...imagine that. Good for you Jerrod, and ultimately, good for us. Can't wait to hear his new stuff.
Seems like everyone is "going in a new direction"...mostly heading in the wrong direction. Glad Jerrod is going back to his roots.
I've always thought that there is kind of a fringe artist who ushers in a new sound for everybody else. I may be way off track here, but hear me out. If you look at Lonestar from the late 90s...they had a handful of hits, but they weren't superstars. Yet you can *kind of* hear their style in Rascal Flatts, who exploded in the early 2000s. Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw all kind of embraced a "peppier" style in the early 2000s. Could Lonestar have influenced this?
Fast forward about 5 years to Montgomery Gentry. They kind of brought a gritty, rock-infused small-town pride style to the table. Again, a handful of influential hits but they weren't setting the world on fire by any means. Then comes Jason Aldean, also focusing on the rock sound. Florida Georgia Line kind of took that testosterone-injected style too. While MG were all "Hell yeah!" and "This is my town!", FGL went the party route.
I guess what I am saying is that there are these non-superstar artists who kind of bring a new sound to the genre, more or less under the radar. I'm not sure Jerrod has much pull with radio at this point, but if he does indeed go more "organic" could he be someone to help bring us back?

Jerrod confirmed his lead single is called "Blue Bandana."
Music Row says the add date is July 13th.

^ Hmm....I'm literally seeing him in 10 minutes, I wonder if he'll play it? He did! And I liked it. It's definitely a more country sound and the theme kind of is like "Wild Child". Unfortunately he also played "Donkey"..... I'll have more thoughts later. But he also played two other new songs, which I'll explain later
