Will the new Apple service affect the charts?

They are late to the game. The only thing that differentiates all of them is their user interface, which they can easily tweak with updates. I still prefer goggle music because they let you upload 50,000 songs. I uploaded my entire iTunes library (most songs were upgraded to 360kbps). I can listen to all my music and radio for free. For cheap people, that's the best option. For subscribers, it has it all too. Playlists made by your mood, you can listen to albums etc. They all are very similar. Apple music likely won't make a significant impact.

I still prefer goggle music what is goggle music? ;) They have changed the name a lot. First it was Google music, then goggle all access and currently it's Google play music / Google play. Most recently, Google talked about turning it into a YouTube music service (YouTube music key). This year Google tried to buy spotify, but decided it wasn't worth it. Due to the size of the company and their interest in streaming music, I wouldn't be surprised if they surge ahead eventually.

I was just pointing out the typo but okay I usually browse this forum on an iPhone or tablet. The small fonts and auto-spell check tend to cause typos. Also, I hate typing on a touch screen but it's convenient since I a,ways have my iPhone on me.

Wolfy always brings the laughs.
Anyway, in the short-term it probably won't do a lot... but I don't understand how anyone could just write it off. Not only is this a product of Apple in 2015, but the service offered isn't even that bad. It won't compare to Spotify anytime soon, but that doesn't mean it can't exist as viable competition. Depending on how they market it, it has potential to blow up.

The only thing right now that could shift is the streaming : download ratio. The next couple of months with the free trial could give an indication of that.
