It's alright. I think I could go without Janelle's backing vocals in the chorus. I wonder if this has a chance to make an impact on Alt...I mean, with the chart embracing a more "80s revival" sound, I think this song could probably fit in with the chart's climate stylistically, but I don't think it will just on principle of it being Duran Duran, who haven't charted on Billboard in over 22 years (unless they've had something more recent on Mediabase--I don't have an archive for that). Though I think it would be super neat, I don't think this will do too much on Alt, maybe Top 40 on Triple A.

Are you guys sure this is going to Alt? Can't imagine it on here at all, especially if they wouldn't play 3EB

I knew this was coming out soon. That's why I've been injecting Duran Duran in posts here and there. I would love it to get Alt chart action. That chorus is classic Duran Duran. Download? Do you really have to ask?

I like this a lot! It feels like it could have been on their Notorious album which Nile Rodgers worked on. The production is current yet has the flavor of their older work. Janelle Monae is a great addition. I love Simon's vocals. I would love for this to be a surprise hit, but it seems unlikely.

Their last single to nearly crack the Top 40 was "Electric Barbarella" at #52 in 1997 (Billboard Hot 100). Their 2004 single "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" only peaked at #89 Duran Duran have not been a hitmaker since the early 90's with their comeback singles "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone" off The Wedding Album. I would VERY surprised to see them get anywhere near the Top 40 in 2015, but stranger things have happened. I like this song. It's very catchy and I think it has a better chance at a comeback than any of their singles in the past 15 years. I was actually a fan of "Someone Else Not Me" from their often forgotten 2000 album Pop Trash. What an UNDERRATED album, and the last to have longtime guitarist Warren Cuccurullo whom really was responsible for their early 90's comeback.

You want the lowdown on Duran Duran? You go to one of thier biggest fans. It's tru that Duran Duran havn't charted in the Hot 100 for years. They have however been the HOT AC a few times since then and as always; still remain popular all over Europe. Red Carpet Massacre was a failure, because you don't attach names like Timbalake and Timbaland to Duran Duran. It sounds confusing to new and established fans alike. It spawned one hit. "Falling Down". It went top 30 on HOT AC. "All You Need Is Now" was even less successfull in the U.S. HOT 200, but it did go top 10 on Rock and Alt charts. The singles "Girl Panic!" and Title Track where more successful in European countries. The album was produced by Mark Ronson and recieved favaorable reviews by many critiques. It was poised to be their comback album but, It was CHR radio that kept it down. "Paper Gods" was set for release in June ,but will get it's official release sometime in September. They are on a big record label. Warner Bros. and their producer is ;non other than' Nile Rodgers. It is again poised to be their comeback album. and it could very well be; judging by "Pressure Off" alone. It will certainly be successful around the globe. The only early obstacle I see; is The U.S. music industry. It's practically impenetrable when it come to their own brand of Pop music. The criterria for a pop song nowadays is far from what a musical artistic band like Duran Duran would drag themselves down too. That would be the thorn in their side, but real fans know what real music is and this record is made for the fans. The embracement of the bands new material by their real fans, will be the true triumph for the band. BTW, this is excatly what I will posting on My Facebook and twitter this week on the arrival of New Duran Duarn album. Here is some abum art of the song.

it just seems that so many of the Alternative hits of today are heavily influenced by this band that it would be an insult not to embrace this song. "My Type", "Happy Idiot", "Don't Wait Up' & even "Dead Inside" all have that DD vibe to them and they get plenty of airplay...this song should too. Still, i'm realistic & don't expect this to go anywhere near the Top20

If Alt stations had older Duran Duran songs in rotation IMO it might make sense - I'm sure plenty of Alt acts have been influenced by artists outside of their genre, though, so I don't think that'll be enough to get them Alt airplay
Even bigger prob though IMO is last time around (late 2000s?), Duran Duran got airplay absolutely nowhere, not even Hot AC, so I'm really not sure anyone will notice this

Madonna will never be #1 on Pop anymore for the simple reason that today's youngsters concider her an old woman. That's all I ever read on youtube comments. they even said the similiar thing about Gwen Stephani and I don't think she is even a MILF yet? Bottom line is; as long as the music industry leaves the future of Pop music to these young consumers; and I don't mean intellegent youngsters, I mean these dumb little airheads just looking at music as a flavour of the month, then pop music will continue to go down the toilet. Like always I give 100% support to Duran Duran in any way I can. I'll promote thier single to my people on twitter and facebook and what not, but I cannot change the tainted minds of the majoraty of today's youth when it comes to music.

its too bad that Madonna feels the need to continue to compete in that market...she should pivot to a new audience who would be more receptive of listening to "an old woman"..."Ray Of Light" got some airplay on Denver's Alternative station (& a few others i think) back in the 90s...i was hoping her sound would morph into something similar to Banks, but sadly she still wants to target the under 20 crowd.

That's another point of mine Ive been trying to get accross. There really is no chart for the 80s and even 90s ..and to some extent early 2000s to perform well on anymore. "Ghostown"; her more adult geared song, completely flopped on HOT AC, because that one is morphing into another CHR chart. but, you are right. She should stop trying to appeal to the young crowd, that from what I've gathered, doesn't even respect her.

Question to you guys? You think if Duran Duran released the song under a different artist name. Think of Green Day when they perform under Foxboro Hot Tubs. You think "Pressure Off" would get picked up by Alt? It sounds alot like "My Type" and songs like "I'm In Love With My Life"

Obviously, we know that Foxboro Hot Tubs were Green Day in disguise. However, the average Alternative radio listener would have no idea if the DJ didn't say it.

Simon's vocals are very unique and totaly undisguisable. Absolutely. Simon has one of the most recognizable voices. Some effects or something could be applied, but that would just change it unless it's done right. Singers Bryan Adams and Tom Jones did some songs in the Dance music genre with British producer Chicane and when the songs were recorded, a significant amount of effects were applied, but their voices are also so distinct that you would still know it's them.

This is pretty good, maybe a grower. I love a lot of their older songs, but their new music hasn't done too much for me. I liked "All You Need Is Now", but it burned on me fairly quickly.

For me one of the best songs and videos of the year. This band hasn't aged in looks nor in spirit.
