Artist: Chuck Wicks Single: "I Don't Do Lonely Well" Writers: Chuck Wicks, Neil Thrasher, Tom Shapiro Album: Turning PointLabel: Blaster Records Add Date: TBA Source: Chuck Wicks twitterChuck Wicks' twitter back in June said this will be his new single and that it will be included on his upcoming album for Blaster, Turning Point, due out on September 18th. "I Don't Do Lonely Well" got its first add two weeks back. He also has been saying this will be his new single at his concerts recently. If the title sounds familiar that's because its the same song Jason Aldean recorded for his Night Train album, but it was never a single. Chuck co-wrote the song with Neil Thrasher and Tom Shapiro. Listen!

Don't know much about Chuck, but I always thought Jason's version should have been a single. I think it could have been a big hit for him.

Most know Chuck from his late 2007/early 2008 single "Stealing Cinderella", that peaked at #5 on both MB and Billboard. He then got another top 15 single with "All I Ever Wanted". After some less impressive peaks, he was dropped from RCA Nashville. His song "Old School" continued to get promoted through Category 5 Records in 2011 (it first charted while he was still on RCA). He then signed with Blaster in late 2013. He of course co-hosts America's Morning Show on NASH FM with Terri Clark and Blair Garner.

Chuckie!! I have loved this song for many months or even years! And always wondered why he gave it to Jason Aldean. Instead of releasing Saturday Afternoon, a song we all already knew, he could have released this. Anyway, this is great news! Hopefully it managed to do well in the charts <3

This was one of my favorite song from Jason Aldean's album, so I'm behind it. I never understood why Chuck Wicks never really broke through, every new male artist seems to hit the top right now, so why not Chuck, hope this is the song.

I am a HUGE Chuck Wicks fan, so I am thrilled to hear that his version is actually being released as a single. Glad to see that the album is being pushed to September 18th instead of August 21st, like he originally announced. As long as we have waited for this new album, the single needs substantial time climb. I don't expect it to go that far, but something (anything) will suffice for me. Really do hope the best comes for Chuck. Extremely nice guy, and very talented. I really don't get how RCA dropped him. It feels like labels give artists so many chances to hang on nowadays.

I just heard the studio version. I love it, and it's as good as I was expecting. I do prefer Chuck's version over Jason's. This would do really well, IMO, if Chuck were on a bigger label. I hope to see this do well enough to actually push the album out for release. I would hate to see this delayed again. By the way, does anyone know who produced this as well as the album?

I doubt they delay the album. Blaster tried and failed to get a hit with "Us Again" and "Saturday Afternoon" and much like Montgomery Gentry, they're realistic about their label and will release Chuck's album on September 18th. Chuck's affiliation with Cumulus has proven to be a crutch (with his first two Blaster singles) and I doubt "I Don't Do Lonely Well" will change that -- heck there isn't even an add date yet and who knows when Blaster will settle on that -- perhaps this is just a song for Cumulus block stations to spin. The album will be released on schedule. I don't have a producer yet for his album as this was announced via his own facebook and twitter pages but perhaps rsmatto knows?

Laughed Until We Cried-Jason Aldean-Broken Bow Wow just seeing this post, oh the nostalgia. That's a pretty solid Top 10 right there. Especially the bottom half, all solid songs IMO. I miss country radio when it was like that. The only song I didnt care for in this Top 10 was Rodneys (just overplayed). Now, it's hard to find a song in the TOP 30 that I really like usually, albeit maybe a few. *Sigh* Ok back to reality

I hope im wrong but after listening I really don't see this doing anything for him. Aldean's version was single worthy but chuck's sounds more like a album filler.

I hope im wrong but after listening I really don't see this doing anything for him. Aldean's version was single worthy but chuck's sounds more like a album filler. It's hard for me to compare the two (probably because I like Chuck better as an artist, compared to Jason). As I said above though, I like this version better, but I do agree that Jason's production seemed more like a radio hit only because any Jason Aldean song tends to speed on up the charts. It's funny how two versions of the same song can sound so different. I have to admit that I would put "I Don't Do Lonely Well" behind "Us Again" as a single. "Us Again" was made for radio in terms of production and lyrical cotent. Compared to "Saturday Afternoon" though, this new song is miles better IMO. Both "Saturday Afternoon" and "I Don't Do Lonely Well" have radio fitting lyrical content, however the production on "Saturday Afternoon" is more of what I'd expect in a demo version of the song. Chuck's version of "I Don't Do Lonely Well" fits radio to me but in a different light than Jason's. Chuck didn't conform to the same type of production style for his version, which is admirable. Jason could have taken it to number one (because he is who he is) but since radio probably won't touch much of this, I hope that it at least peaks in the top forty. If I were to get my way though, I would want this to peak as a top twenty.

Jason's version blows this out of the water. Not a fan of the arrangement of this song whatsoever. I am a Chuck Wicks fan though, and hope he finds some success on the charts eventually.

yea I really loved "Us again" and was shocked it didn't at least make it in the 20's. EP was pretty great too for the most part but im didn't care for "Saturday afternoon" or his version of this.
