Highly doubt RedOne produced a traditional country song.

Just gotta sit back and watch this genre self-implode. It's a slippery slope now folks.
When you have The Band Perry and Zac Brown Band releasing pop songs you know it's time to brush up the personal collection and buy a new AUX cable for the car.

Also it says ZBB will have "Beautiful Drug" cross from country to pop...will they release that one to country to? Yes. "Beautiful Drug" will be ZBB's next country radio single as well... Scott Borchetta fully intended on The Band Perry to cross over and this new album being a cross-over type of album is what I was hearing for a while though my discussion with someone at WYRK and with how The Band Perry have been so hush on how this new music will sound. Borchetta is strictly business when it comes down to it -- and that's always who he's been. He loves music and likes country music, but if he see's an opportunity for a cross-genre artist and more revenue to come his label's way, he's going to jump at it. This should unfortunately be no surprise that he wants The Band Perry to transition to a pop/country act -- perhaps if things fall they way he wants it to, entirely pop.

I love The Band Perry and even though I'd prefer they keep it country because I enjoy their music as it is, I have always thought they were more cross-over worthy and I was bummed when the pop release of "Better Dig Two" got cancelled. It'll be interesting to see how this all shapes up. I do believe The Band Perry has huge potential to be much bigger than they currently are and if a little branching out is what they need to launch them to that next level, I'm okay with it, so long as I still enjoy the music. If the music is as good as Taylor Swift's Red album where she first fully branched out to both sides, then I'll be content. A lot of mixed emotions though (nervousness and excitement mostly) going into this single release though. I really can't wait to hear how this is gonna sound.

I haven't listened to Country radio in a LONG time. When I listen to Country artists it's the older ones that radio don't touch. The only current artist I even like in Country, well you can tell by my name. I think TBP would be perfect for Top 40 radio just like Taylor was. It's basically all I listen to and Top 40 Pop in my opinion is the best it's been this entire century so far.

kanimal mentioned half of this above, but today's HITS article on the iHeart Summit confirms the producers are RedOne and Dann Huff.

That makes me think the material is gonna sound like the pop versions of Shania's singles or the material from Taylor Swift's "Red". Like Taylor did on "Red" they are working with a producer that is part of the country scene and pop scene.

The more I think about this song the more it just scares me to death come on ZBB is going A-wall EYB is part of a pop song. Who are we left in the group department Little Big Town Lady A and A Thousand Horses maybe Rascal Flatts. The country groups are starting to go crazy.

RedOne and Dann Huff teaming up for production duties puts the fear of God in me, personally. Is RedOne a person or a company? I'll reserve judgement until I actually hear this, but nothing about this new material seems promising. Their debut album was very strong and promising (and I didn't even care for If I Die Young). Then they switched producers to Dann Huff, and it's been all downhill since (hardly a surprise, since it's Dann Huff we're talking about). The talent is still there, as evidenced by their splendid rendition of Gentle On My Mind (not coincidentally, it wasn't produced by Huff). Their debut sold over a million more copies than Pioneer, so it surprises me that they're going even further in the pop direction. Kimberly Perry has real star power though, so I wouldn't it past her to make anything work.

Poker Face, Just Dance, Bad Romance, ect. He's also done stuff with Nicki (Starships), J-Lo (On the Floor), granted he hasn't had a big hit in a while since starting his own label that tanked.

I'm stoked for this, tbh. I always thought they had the potential to cross over, especially with Better Dig Two and DONE. Too bad they weren't given the chance to do so because I believe they would've been BIG. I hope there is a balance of Country and Pop on the album like Red, though. I love their Country material, it'd be a shame to see them go full-on Pop, even if it's working for Taylor. The fact that there are so much abandoning Country right now is making me laugh. I blame all the bro-country shit going on, tbh.

With the way radio has been treating females, I think the Band Perry and Lady Antebellum should both stop trying to fit in with Country and start releasing all crossover singles.

RedOne and Dann Huff teaming up for production duties puts the fear of God in me, personally. Is RedOne a person or a company? He's a pop producer who has worked with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Austin Mahone, among others. I'm not a big pop music fan, or the production that accompanies it, so I got a pop producer teaming up with a producer who has made some my least favorite produced country songs over the past 15 years (though to be fair, I have also liked a fair bit of Huff produced songs as well). I already know that Borchetta is gunning for another cross-over attempt with this upcoming album so I'm all kinds of scared by what this song will sound like.

I don't think RedOne and Dann Huff worked absolutely "together" (meaning at the same time) on this material, I will go out on a limb here and assume that RedOne produced the original session that created "Live Forever," and Dann Huff came along after to shape it more for the country audience. Doubt TBP is abandoning their country audience altogether anytime soon, but rather trying to expand their music to reach a bigger audience. TBP loves taking risks and trying to walk the tightrope between many different genres of music, because they have a genuine love of them all. They also know where their base audience is and will work hard not to abandon the country fans while trying to bring in new fans with new sounds at the same time. I trust them to make it work.

I'm actually really excited for this. I don't know if it'll be "classic country," but then again that's never been TBP's style and they've always had great music. At the very least I'm sure it'll be another great song, which there's a void of these days on the country charts, whether it's country, country pop, pop, or whatever. When I see the name the first thought that comes to mind is the ages-old question, "Would you rather die tomorrow or live forever?" I'd love if this song somehow included a take on this question.

RedOne is among my very favorite pop producers (Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" is one of my Top 2 favorite non-country songs ever and I love a lot of the work he's done with her, as well as Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Priyanka Chopra, and Paulina Rubio), so I'm definitely interested in hearing this.

Looking forward to this! The Band Perry has consistently been one of my favorites ever since I first heard "If I Die Young". I'm eager to hear this and to see if they can crossover.

I'd honestly like a more rootsy approach from them, but I will still listen to this with an open mind since I've liked most of their music so far

I will keep an open mind, since although It irritates me to no end that non-country music is played and excellent country music is ignored at radio (see Kacey Musgraves)- good music is still good music.
But since I loved 'The Band Perry'-every song on it and was very meh on 'Pioneer' (especially its singles) which seemed to veer further away from country I have low expectations.

Yes, it's definitely RedOne & Dann Huff. Pop/Rock/HipHop/AC producers are following the money to country. It was inevitable.

Unless I've forgotten something, this will be the first TBP single release with an immediate music video release....the other videos came several weeks after their single releases.

Is this the first time that a music video covering all genres has garnered all this attention with the 48 hour deal from CMT? Must be a really good song for it to make this much out of it.
