Based on the titled alone, I was expecting something with a high level of cheese (looking at you, Hunter Hayes). Pleasantly surprised on first listen, however - I'll be following this one closely, and hoping for a hit!!!

After giving this multiple listens here's what I think: It's good not great. Cassadee actually doesn't sound as girly as she did on her debut album which I'm thankful for. Also the production doesn't quite go to huge like her last album minus the final chorus. I did like the repeat background voice in the final chorus. The lyrics though feel a little to cliche I guess. Overall not bad. This'll determine if she's here to stay or to leave.

This doesn't quite grab me in the way that "Wasting All These Tears" does in terms of capturing that anthemic sound that I feel like this goes for, too, but I do really like it. Her voice sounds fantastic on this though, and I live for that "whoa-whoa-wahoooo" in the chorus she does. Ahhh, I love that! I just wish the production was a little more interesting and distinctive like it was on her debut single (one of my fave aspects of WATT) and the lyrics could've been stronger. But, all-in-all, this is pretty good, and I can see this at least making the Top 20. <3 Also, I can't wait to see her performance of this from the Special Olympics. That is a pretty great opportunity for her to be able to debut this song, so I'm looking forward to it.

Woah. Yep, she absolutely killed that performance! This is not an easy song to sing, and she handles it very nicely. I felt like I could truly hear how good of a vocalist she is in that live performance. I am ready for Cassadee to break through in a big way.

I love this. I always have wondered why she hasn't really broke through on Country. WATT hit Top 10, but it wasn't as MASSIVE it could've been. I Wish I Could Break Your Heart faltered and peaked just outside of Top 30 when it should've done so much better. But it's probably all because of that bro-country thing going on. I think this could do well, but I'm concerned with the fact that this is getting sent for adds in September. Why are they waiting that long?

Why are they waiting that long? The extra few weeks will give Cassadee time to accomplish another radio tour, which is already under way and it gives time for the buzz to pick up with country stations and time for the sales to potentially have them take notice. This is a smart move by Republic Nashville and they have tried their best to make this single attempt be successful as possible.

Well then, I hope the radio tour does wonders for the song! This bro-country thing going on is terrible and hearing her on the radio would be nice.

Not a bad song, but neither is it one that really "grabs" me.
RE: The pop-sounding comments - that shouldn't be too surprising when your song is co-written by the guitarist of Hot Chelle Rae. (Nash.) :)

I love the final chorus in this song! I really hope it peaks higher than Wasting All These Tears.

I love the final chorus in this song! I really hope it peaks higher than Wasting All These Tears. me too!! I asked a correspondent who works with I heart radio on Twitter if Cassadee is getting an I heart deal or on the verge deal and she rt and fav so it may be likely idk but still may hope and not rule it out. I think it'll do better and rise faster that WATT IF she returns to the upcoming season of the voice to sing it, hopefully sing on cma's and a late night/ daytime tv show that'll help it

Are there good chances for this song to be the next On The Verge pick? "I Am Invincible" goes for adds just in time for the next OTV treatment.

I would say there's reasonable odds -- there's just too many other potential candidates that could be chosen for Cassadee's to have "good chances." Remain hopeful if you wish for this song to be rewarded the next "On The Verge", but don't expect it.

"I Am Invincible" has about 600k in MB audience this week while it was in the Billboard Airplay New and Active with about 550k in audience this past week, and this song doesn't go for adds for another month. Putting this song on iTunes and releasing the song to radio a few weeks before the add date was a very smart move on Republic Nashville's part. Cassadee doing another radio tour while this launch is happening is doing wonders for her chances of this song succeeding and I'm expecting a good start for this one once September 8th comes around.

If you read the post above yours, you'd see there is no reason for a post like this.

Amazing song! Honestly I was really hoping she would release "let me go" as her next single but I'm in love with this song too. I wish she received more recognition for the way she sings, she's got such a unique and versatile voice. Her vocal range on "I am invincible" is just unbelievable I don't understand why she isn't more popular among other country artists

She had one big hit but the follow-up didn't take off and she took about a year absence from country radio, but I could see her growing in popularity beginning with this single and album #2 so long as she and her team play their cards right. I agree that she brings something unique, and uniquely good, to the table vocally and musically. :)

Doesn't help that she alienated half of her fan base by going country when all they wanted as pop punk. Finally, I don't think most country fans really care about this girl. Also, I have heard so many stories about this girl... many are pretty bad. Hope she has learned to be a bit more humble, that would help her country career a lot, I'm sure.

I can understand where some people might support the claim that she lacks authenticity as a country singer. Her overall sound is quite poppy, and she has not expressed much interest in toning that down. That being said, there is zero evidence to support the statement that most country fans do not even care about Cassadee. That is just generally a rude thing to say about people, and feels like unnecessary artist-bashing to me. Especially when you mysteriously say you have "heard so many stories about this girl...". Do you actually know her? Do you actually follow her personal actions, or are you just repeating what you have heard from internet rumor mill sources, and forming opinions about Cassadee as a person based on the fact that you don't care for her music? It is all fine and good to share your opinions, especially when they offer a dissenting perspective on a song. That leads to really interesting discussion! But it is helpful when those opinions are substantiated by facts, so they do not come across as artist-bashing.

But it is helpful when those opinions are substantiated by facts, so they do not come across as artist-bashing. No, I don't know her... but heard many stories from people who have witnessed her bad attitude, people who have followed her Hey Monday days and follow other bands in the pop rock genre/pop punk scene, fans of All Time Low (her boyfriend's band) that have followed them for many years and are aware of many shady things Cassadee has done. You also don't need to look much into it to find out that all this girl wants is to be famous, be it in whatever genre it is, that's her only goal. This is someone that milked a fake story about her dad being deadbeat for simpathy votes on The Voice... the man backed up her entire career. But what do I know, right? I'm just another anonymous internet user, I guess. As for her music, I find it very bland and nothing special, I'm sure BMLG could find her better material, but still she probably will not go far. If she hasn't made it in country by now, I don't think she will ever. I say it's a couple more albums before she changes genres to find better luck, maybe less than that actually.

So I heart radio is making announcements tomorrow morning and my guess is since Cassadee's song heads to radio tomorrow that one of the Announcements is she is chosen as the next on the verge artist.

That. Would. Be. Surreal. Edit: If that were actually the case, maybe it was planned all along! Maybe they waited so long for this song to hit the radio because they knew since Cam was the new OTV artist, another one would be chosen 2 months later. It's perfect timing!!!

Cassaddee does have a good shot but I don't think it's anything close to guaranteed. To me the top candidates right now are "I Am Invincible", "Head Over Boots" and "Kids With Cars." I'm actually fearful it might be Dallas' song, with Clay Hunnicutt's former affiliation with iHeartMedia, and his song goes for adds next Monday (he's also brand new to the majority of American listeners). They haven't made a selection with an artist who has previously had a hit since Dustin Lynch in the spring of 2014. Since then we've gotten brand new artists...that's why I'm not completely sold on Cassaddee or Jon being selected. I guess we'll see though; almost nothing would shock me to be honest.

While I'm on the topic of adds, "I Am Invincible" is the most added song on MB this week with 30 adds.

This one is really struggling. Only 7 adds in it's 2nd week, and big machine/ or whatever label she is on couldn't even bother to put a "most added" add in country aircheck for the first week adds.
Not in the top 1500 of iTunes with over 1 million audience impressions and not top 50 on mediabase.
Sad to see this happening.
