Looks like "Feelings" will be the next single from Maroon 5's album V because it's currently listed on the Top 40 playlist from PlayIGA. • In case the Spotify embed doesn't work, you could listen to it here.

Meh... it's alright, but the falsetto is grating. I can see this easily getting annoying and overplayed.

Not Adam giving us prime Fever era Kylie squeals about feelings he can't fight . Thoughts Linnethia Monique popbox allow that ? I like this though, in that strut into an overpriced Euro club circa 2002 kinda way.

I actually like this more than I expected. I only listened to it once when the album came out and now. I do find it funny that they are tossing "It Was Always You" aside yet again.

Sean Ross just tweeted that this impacts August 4.
This has the opposite problem to TSGH for me: the chorus has a nice melody, but the verses kind of thud along. At least both prechoruses are great. If we aren't getting IWAY, this is my next preferred choice.

My thoughts are that I remember someone requesting this as a single awhile back and I chuckled at the thought of it ever seeing the light of day. Well, I guess I was wrong and M5 have just decided to pretend the far more radio friendly IWAY, Coming Back For You, and Unkiss Me have already been released. Whatever, they already screwed up the era with Summer so the momentum is gone anyways.

When I first got the cd I instantly took to this and started adding it to mixes etc. This is probably my 2nd favorite on the cd. Most people I know like it as well. I think it sounds like a Hit.

In all seriousness though, this and "Coming Back For You" would have been my preferred options if it weren't "It Was Always You". I liked this when the album released, but it sort of burned on me because the verses are terrible (the second verse in particular...), though the chorus, pre-chorus, and bridge are gold. This feels like the poor man's "Doin' Dirt", which was a f*cking gem from the last album. I'm not sure how this'll do considering "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf*cker" killed some of the momentum they had.
Another thing that sort of baffled me, is why not release this as the summer song and not "This Summer..."? This would have made things much easier for them and this is much better.

I actually like this, though. It's just that TSGH wasted such a good chunk of time for them that it's becoming increasingly agitating to see them skip over IWAY yet again.

I'm not even going to listen to this in protest of IWAY being passed up.

I actually like this, though. It's just that TSGH wasted such a good chunk of time for them that it's becoming increasingly agitating to see them skip over IWAY yet again. Did it though? Between the airplay that it did get, along with the high staying power of Sugar, they're probably still the second most played act of the year behind Taylor Swift, especially once you factor in recurrent spins for Maps and Animals. In fact, This Summer... didn't affect Sugar at all. Having a song go top 10 at radio vs a #1 doesn't derail your overall momentum much when you have multiple songs from within the past year still getting heavy spins. When you consider that this is all off an album that was released all the way back at the start of September (+1 top 10 here with a short run), their success is still incredibly impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a last minute decision altogether after This Summer... didn't hit as hard as they thought it would, but considering that the album is still popping in and out of the top 10 and having virtually never left the top 15 this year, it would be silly not to push something else.

It does seem sort of silly to have tacked on a rerelease bonus as a single to then go back to standard tracks for further singles

It's not a new tactic. If your project still has momentum and you know it will be a while before you prep a whole new project, it's not a bad idea to send another single. Rihanna and OneRepublic have done it. Not to massive songs mind you, but not failures.

Didn't they already release IWAY as like a promotional single or something like that?
I'm guessing they want to just show off different sounds from the album, because Feelings sounds very different from the previous singles.

Oh, I didn't mean 'wasted time' as in killed their status or anything. Apologies if it seemed I was implying that. I just mean that they wasted their fourth single on a song that ended up dying before the end of July, when they could have released Feelings at that time and there'd still be a decent chance of IWAY being the fifth single. I don't think it's likely they'll go six singles deep, so them choosing Feelings now irks me even though I do like it.

Seems like they just desperately wanted that song of the summer. That would be a different case since she released all 3 songs (with 2 being #1s) and then went back to something on the original to basically prolong the era. She also wanted to capitalize on JT/Timbaland being as big as they were at the time.

Rehab sounded like a smash though at the time, and I still don't fully understand why it wasn't. This on the other hand couldn't seem more random to go back to the album for.

My least favorite recording from their entire discography. That chorus.....
Prayer circles this doesn't even go top 20 top 30.
