Can we please get "California" with Big & Rich next for single #2? It's extremely fresh sounding, modern and radio friendly, and one of the better songs I've heard from Tim. I heard California live this past weekend. It's great. Good concert song.

For anyone who cares, "Top Of The World" hit #1 on the Music Row chart this week.
FYI, "Riser" is #4 and "Blue Bandana" is #10.

Just listened to this for the first time and I like it. I haven't used a Tim McGraw song since "Felt Good On My Lips", but I think that might change. Obviously I'm not a regular in this part of the forum, but is this still climbing the charts or are they pushing another single soon?

He''ll pass FGL today or tomorrow at the latest and will pass Old Dominion early next week; he's also some 800 or so spins ahead of the Thomas Rhett song, easily his best single to date, so keep an eye on that stellar song as they move up the chatts
With the 2016 Mediabase chart year now underway as of this past Sunday, look for those two artists to hit #1 early in the new year.

I don't know why, but for some reason I'm hearing Adam Levine in the chorus, lol.

He's only some 300 spins ahead of Thomas Rhett as he heads for the top five next month, so this is going to be an interesting race to watch as they both head for the penthouse, although I wouldn't be surprised if TR passes him relatively soon.

I would not push this single at all after Xmas, and honestly they'd be better off having a second single ready for radio by the beginning of January. This song has done nothing for Tim, there seems to be zero buzz, its not selling well, and I can hardly recognize it when its on the radio. Still can't believe they chose this as a lead single, there's nothing noteworthy about it at all.

It's underperforming, even taking the sales climate into consideration.

Yeah, I actually totally love this and think it's a great song, but it's pretty obvious that there's no reason for them to keep this going. I'd like to see them let it go sooner rather than later. Hopefully his next single will connect better.

Just stopping by to say this is a hell of a good song. Proves that when Tim is allowed to call the shots with his own content, production, and single choices he has the ability to release quality material. Glad to see him performing well, artistically and commercially.

I'm amazed how poorly this one is selling. This might be Tim's most uneventful top 5 single since "Nothin' To Die For."

I'm amazed how poorly this one is selling. This might be Tim's most uneventful top 5 single since "Nothin' To Die For." Putting the atrocities "Truck Yeah" and "Lookin' For That Girl" aside, this song is one of my least favorite singles by Tim in recent memory. Even "Southern Gril" had more substance than this snoozefest. This continues Tim's trend of leading each of the past three era's with bad songs.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I really like this.
Album's consistent and good as well.

I like this song but damnit they need to just let this one go already. It's treading water and no one is buying it... time to move on. I'm sure they already would have weeks ago if it weren't 2015 and the "everybody gets to #1 eventually once they hit Top 10" mentality. Keeping this one alive is doing absolutely nothing for him or the album.

I agree that this one is doing nothing for Tim and Big Machine should move on. I say this would have had a similar peak to "Drugs Or Jesus" or "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" a few years back.
I'm fully expecting a new single from Tim in January, so I guess they're just attempting to get this as high as possible until the New Year.

Yeah this might as well wait out the new year, but it's really not doing much for Tim. It's selling poorly, getting passed by songs in the top 10, and his album is out of the top 10 in only its fourth week. I don't think I've ever seen a Tim album fall so sharply upon release.

This one lost almost a million in audience today so I'm guessing they let it go in favor of getting something new out for the new year.

Doubt it, sure it lost a good chunk but it was not the only song that took a hit today, several others like "Dibs" by Kelsea Ballerini and "I Like The Sound Of That" by Rascal Flatts but I think this has to do with Radio playing a lot more of the Christmas Music as this was the weekend before Christmas and radio as I was going with a friend out to eat for Christmas present to them, I heard a lot of Christmas music on one of my Country Radio stations.

You're right, after I posted that I looked again and it's probably just stations playing Christmas tunes.
But, the updates should at least show us which songs the stations truly want to stop playing...giving us a potential indication of things to come.

Top Of The World gained 145 spins.

Top Of The World gained 145 spins. Tim's song gained 145 net spins on the finalized Mediabase chart from yesterday...but @nickv1025 was referring to the 86 spins and 700k in audience lost in today's Mediabase update. There were a bunch of songs that saw a loss of spins and audience today, so I agree we need to see more to confirm if Tim's song is done. Big Machine might just be laying low and allowing stations to allocate spins towards Christmas songs in place of "Top Of The World" but this one never felt like one that would peak in the top 2, let alone #1. I would let this one go now and come back with a second single after the New Year since "Top Of The World" has accomplished nothing more than simply killing time and getting Tim's album out.

"Top Of The World" might be out of steam as every song that saw a loss of spins and audience yesterday regained a positive number in both categories, except Tim. This song has now lost 181 spins and over 1.5 million in audience the past three days and since Thomas Rhett will have a reign at #1 and Brothers Osborne and LoCash will wait their turn, there's no reason why Big Machine should wait those songs out into the first month of 2016, especially since this song was released all the way back in August. The only silver lining that would allow Big Machine to try and keep this song is that there's nobody withing shouting distance of Tim on MB.
It's selling horribly and is as close you can get to being invisible despite being in the top 10. This one needs to go away.

Does Big Machine have any other tunes in the top 20 that they MIGHT turn their attention to if indeed this one is on life support?
While gaining 145 spins is nothing to sneeze at, it certainly pales in comparison to the gain of 347 spins which 'Southern Voice' garnered exactly six years ago in 2009 enroute to #1, the last time that Christmas fell on a Friday; of course Tim was on Curb Records back then.
Something tells me that someone as aggressive as Scott Borchetta isn't going to put this one to sleep just yet in spite of the anemic gain in sales, so even if Tim does pass 'Burning House' this week, and especially after laying out some serious $$$$$$ to add the most-played artist of the decade (2000-2009) on US radio (7,800,000+ spins) to his roster.
Big Machine MIGHT wait until the new year before deciding whether to keep promoting this or pull the plug next month.
Stay tuned, folks.
