Aw man I was hoping for Shattered Glass. Oh well early prediction is a peak like Crushing It I just can't see this hitting the top.

One of my favorites from the album. Man, this era has been the best Brad era IMO. Each of the singles they have release have been perfect. I really wanted "Crushin' It" to reach the top but it has been so overplayed by my country station out here, I'm glad that they are moving on to something different. "Country Nation" is the perfect county song.

Probably my favorite single of the Moonshine in the Trunk era. Hopefully this can get him back to #1.

The obvious single choice. Very, very good song. Would make a deserving #1.

Hell yeah! Glad they went with the obvious, even though there were other legitimate choices.
This is a classic Brad song, full with acoustic guitar, fiddle, and steel. I know Brad isn't exactly young and this is the fourth single but here's to hoping it gets to the top.

This song or Moonshine In The Trunk would've been my choice for the next single so this makes me happy.

There's something missing from this that would've given it a little extra kick that I feel it needs, but as is, this is a pretty solid song. I absolutely love the steel guitar and fiddle on this and the lyrics are well-written. Definitely better than "Crushin' It," which was one of my least-favorite Brad Paisley singles probably ever, and I think this is maybe a touch better than "River Bank," too. "Perfect Storm" is still my favorite single from the album though.
That all aside, I think this is a great single for country radio and I can see this being another Top 2 hit like the first two singles and definitely outperforming "Crushin' It."

I kind of dismissed this song when I first listened to the album because I generally don't care for such obvious attempts at manufacturing an anthem. I'm still not crazy about that aspect of the song, but it sure is catchy and good God is the production outstanding on this. Those fiddle solos are just heavenly. By default it will be my favorite single from Moonshine (a great album with underwhelming singles), and I fully expect it to be a big hit. It's already starting to grow on me lyrically, and as everyone has mentioned - perfect for the upcoming football season. Long live the fiddle.

This is one of those songs that seems very predictable and makes me roll my eyes a little. But it sucks me in anyway

Great choice and my favorite single so far from Moonshine In The Trunk. I bet ESPN will use this song on College Gameday, it'd seem like a no-brainier. Best part of the song is where he mentions the Seminoles!!! >----/----/----->

Bummer that my Syracuse Orange don't get mentioned but their football program hasn't been good for some time.
It's not exactly easy rhyming "Orange" either, lol.

After Moonshine In The Trunk, I think it would be time for Brad Paisley to release his second greatest hits CD.

After Moonshine In The Trunk, I think it would be time for Brad Paisley to release his second greatest hits CD. I agree. Maybe that would allow a little time off between albums. Kind of like Kenny Chesney took a small break and then came back strong. The tough part about that is it could backfire with older artists. I do think that 3-5 years from now, country radio will be more fitting for Brad's music than it is at this current moment. Do you know where Brad is on the all-time top 10 list?

Artists with the most top 10 hits Brad Paisley just collected top ten #33 with Crushin' It. I know Eddy Arnold has 92 top tens while in second place is George Strait with 86. Paisley would be quite low on the list in comparison.

Definitely among my VERY favorite tracks from a wonderful CD, and another standout musical testament/snapshot much like American Saturday Night.
It'll undoubtedly take forever to climb the charts, but given the absence of several standout songs getting any airplay as the bro-country craze continues to suffocate the format, it's better than nothing, even given the rapid deterioration in the quality of country music within the past 20-24 months.
Paisley's among the very few trustworthy country artists out there, and his CDs including this one as well as Time Well Wasted continue to spend lots of time in my car CD player as well as my computers.
Thanks, Brad.

Nobody said this was bro-country, Marv was pointing out that this is a welcome relief from bro-country, Zack interjected with Metropolitan, and Indulge said he'd never heard of that term. Reading is good, mmkay. For what it's worth, I believe the term was coined by Trigger at Saving Country Music, and is used to encompass the Sam Hunt/Thomas Rhett R&B/groove infused trend, but don't quote me on that.

Here's what Metro country is.
Ever since Sam Hunt came in last year his form of country has since been copycatted in hopes of getting a hit. Here's some examples:
Crash & Burn Break Up With Him Lose My Mind Burning It Down Like A Wrecking Ball
What a lot of these songs lack are country elements and sounding more pop than country. Heck I'm willing to say songs like Real Life Honey I'm Good neither are country the slightest. Sam Hunt's Pop R&B Rap is influencing a lot of artists and it's sickening.

^ What raylatch98 and carriekins said, it's just the more Pop influenced songs on the radio. Anyway I only meant it as an innocent little jab, no one said the song was bro-country, Marv only said that the song likely wouldn't move up due to the endless bro-country on the airwaves, which I countered given how there's more Metropolitan than Bro-Country at this point (even though it has its artists who are clinging on for dear life). Anyway, now that this is out of the way, let's get back to the song at hand :)

Eh, this "Metropolitan" thing is taking it a little far. Bro-country is pretty widely accepted as a "thing" but the same can't be said for the other term (literally nothing comes up for it on Google, lol), and it also is not descriptive of what it even really is either. This 'Metropolitan' qualifier is pretty superfluous. If it was coined/used by just one guy on a music blog, that's not really a compelling argument to start throwing that word around so matter-of-factly, imo.
And I also disagree that whatever this new trend is has replaced bro-country either, as I still see plenty of artists and songs that fit that title or come fairly close to it. Bro-country has certainly dialed back a bit because it already had perhaps it's "peak," but it still has a presence (there's several in the Top 10 at this very moment). Plus a lot of the examples just sound like bro country to me with even less country production ("Break Up with Him" and "Burnin' It Down"), or they're just straight-up pop-"country" and we'll call it simple like it is.

November 2nd will mark the 5 year anniversary of 'Hits Alive' so another GH CD to be released come springtime would make sense; I'd rather have a new CD from him instead.
