I REALLY thought they would go with "Sweet Little Somethin'" as another tempo song but I sure am glad it's this one instead. This is pretty close to the Jason I've always loved to listen to. Radio is looking to be much more bearable this winter...

Come on Jason another mindless bro-country song. There were so many better options I wish he'd release the Title Track or like anything better than this.
I particularly hate the line "Leave a few marks leave a few stains" Eww!

I think this has a bit more to it than the average party anthem, and while it's not exactly substantial, I think you can do a hell of a lot worse than this one lyrically.
And thank god they didn't choose Sweet Little Somethin'.

Agreed on the mindlessness, but at least it's got that signature good-feeling production Aldean used to kill with. Happy to put "Burnin It Down" ilk in the rearview. And raylatch98 yeah that line is incredibly gross. Trying not to think about it. I like the hook, but it feels to me like a watered-down "Tattoos On This Town"

^This song isn't bro-country at all. It's a song about living life to the fullest and making memories that will last a lifetime. If this is bro-country, then so was "Tattoos On This Town" because there's a lot of similarities between the two.
Anyways, if it wasn't going to be one of the ballads (Two Night Town, Too Fast or Tryin' To Love Me), then I'm glad they went with this. I think this will be a huge hit for Jason, and will become the second biggest hit from this era after "Burnin' It Down". I think this song will go over extremely well with Jason's fan base, and radio is going to eat this one up. Good choice, and hopefully they'll go with "Two Night Town" for the 5th and final single to close out the era.

I particularly hate the line "Leave a few marks leave a few stains" Eww! As dm2081 said above, this is far from a Bro-Country song, content wise. A lot of songs (99% of them) would be "Bro" by using this, a "Carpe Diem" theme, as a benchmark. For example, "Fly" by Maddie & Tae would be one too. Musically, it's no different than any of Aldean's other stuff from albums as early as his first record. It's easily amongst his best single releases.

The Truth Relentless Don't You Wanna Stay Fly Over States would like a word. The line that I noted just ruined the song or am I the only one to get the double-meaning of it. Uh yeah I've heard Fly and I've heard this nothing is similar between the two.

No, I think people get your references but most who hear the song won't ever think of that (stains and marks, do after all, tend to be permanent). Also, I said amongst his best single releases, not THE best.

Even among all of Jason Aldean songs this wouldn't even crack my Top 10. Let's see Hicktown Why Relentless Laughed Until We Cried Don't You Wanna Stay Johnny Cash Fly Over States Night Train Crazy Town heck I'll throw When She Says Baby in there. I really want Jason to release one of the deeper break up songs.

And I don't see the humour behind his opinion either.

My favorite single of the Old Boots, New Dirt era, but it still feels like we've heard this song a couple times from Jason.

Good song choice, Jason! I am starting to trust you much more these days in relation to song selection. Hope album #7 is like a lot of your older stuff. I actually love "Old Boots, New Dirt".

Sounds like almost every other song Jason Aldean has released.

This is the Jason Aldean we all know and love, this is his signature style that we're used to. Amazing chorus with great production and a nice little breakdown at the end of the song. It's the steel guitar driven version of "Tattoos On This Town" 2nd biggest hit of the era, 2 weeks at #1, and will fly up the charts with Luke and Blake's new ones!

Speaking as a major Jason Aldean fan, thank everything that is holy in this world that Sweet Little Somethin' wasn't released. Now, just for this to burn through the charts and we can get "Two Night Town" released.

Good choice. I don't really hear the tattoos on this town theme in this one. Get more of a Johnny Cash ( or non Aldean songs like We Went and Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde) story with it. Still pulling for Two Night Town as the final release though! Just wish they didn't waste time by releasing a forgettable song like Just Gettin Started, otherwise I'm enjoying this era.

Good choice. I don't really hear the tattoos on this town theme in this one. The theme might not be super similar, but there are obvious similarities in the hooks of each song. "Gonna Know We Were Here" lyrics: And we may not be around in 20 years But they're sure gonna know we were here Yeah, they're sure gonna know we were here"Tattoos On This Town" lyrics: It sure left its mark on us, we sure left our mark on it We let the world know we were here with everything we did We laid a lot of memories down, like tattoos on this town

I don't mind this one, not something that I'd listen to on my own, but for what it's worth, it's not bad. Hopefully the next single isn't "Sweet Little Somethin'" That would be a bad way to end the era lol

This song sounds more like a typical Aldean lead single. Usually by this point in the album cycle we get something with more substance. This song is ok, and I'd much rather have a throwback Aldean rocker than something inspired by current radio trends, but this is still a disappointing release. I still hold out hope that Two Night Town or Too Fast will draw the album to a close (I'd even settle for Tryin' To Love Me).

Good choice, radio will definitely like this. I really love the song and am totally fine with this being released. I actually like "Sweet Little Somethin" better though. Melodically it's a killer song, but due to it's production, I wouldn't be upset if it just remained an album track for his fans to enjoy.

Not feeling this. It's like a bad version of Night Train. Sweet Little Something was the obvious choice here. But honestly, what does it matter, because it's gonna go #1 on the joke of a revolving door that is country radio regardless.

With the exception of maybe Florida Georgia Line, I can't think of another artist where his songs all sound the same more than with Jason Aldean. Listening to this now I feel like he's given us this exact song like 6 times already, and the newer versions just continue to get worse. He's such an incredibly boring artist. I wish he'd at least try to switch it up.

Hoped for this to be chosen as the next single! :) Usual Aldean fare... Love it! He's great at what he does; just don't expect mind changing lyrics (the contrary is true) and intricate country instrumentation. It's pure stadium country rock and at that he's currently the best.

I wish he'd at least try to switch it up. I feel incredibly conflicted about this... I agree that some growth would be amazing, but his recent 'growth' towards radio trends a la "Burnin It Down" made me nauseous. He's an interesting artist in the sense that he seems to have close to no personality and doesn't write his own songs, which makes me feel like it's almost a pop level of star creation. His A&R team historically has done a killer job with him, but I can imagine there's a giant challenge that comes with pivoting an artist that as a character doesn't offer a lot to latch onto. That said, he's managed to grow his touring numbers to almost Chesney-an levels, which seems almost counter-intuitive given how, to use your word, 'boring' he comes off as. Maybe since (unlike Luke) he hasn't ever been particularly bold in one brand direction (unlike Luke and his "country girl" hip-thrusting gimmick, for instance), he doesn't feel like he needs to change to keep from being timeless, esp since it seems to continue to work just fine.
