Don't get your hopes up. There's no way in hell Beyonce will release anything before Q4 2016.

Don't get your hopes up. There's no way in hell Beyonce will release anything before Q4 2016. She is that petty and a perfectionist. This is the same artist who reportedly scrapped a whole project months before it dropped, put a new project together and filmed videos for each track. Her last project was still under production hours before it dropped, there's no telling when it'll drop but shell damn near be working on it till Q4 2016 if its not right.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO! ITS A JOINT ALBUM WITH...JAY? I would've taken another damn Destiny Child's album than this. Is she still on that proving she's hard and trill just because she's Texas shit cause its not cute or amusing. See, keep the album, Rihanna can keep hers, Tamar should've kept hers and after Kelly and Dumb shit of a song "Dumb" I'm done cause all my favs got me fucked up!

Right? The song won 2 Grammies, damn. Quit hating. Right! Because Grammy Awards make ANY song about sucking and riding your dog face husband penis acceptable after a musical masterpiece that was and still is "4". Smh, let's not act like Drunk In Love was 2013's Halo or Unbreak My Heart cause that was the worst song on Self Title along with a few others. The Grammy's were given for popularity not for musical art.

You know, a chart that actually follows AirPlay and sales, and not popularity. But go ahead.

The way that Drunk In Love was released alone would have gained it airplay based on popularity because ppl were playing it back to back, not because it great or started a trend, but because it was a surprised single from a surprise album. And NO she doesn't need another Drunk In Love if it charted at #2 and NOT #1.

Let's not fool ourselves now, it most likely would've gotten airplay just from being a Beyonce release, it didn't need the surprise release to do that. I'm not really sure what you're arguing here, but your last sentence concerns me because you said earlier that this song was no "Halo", but "Halo" actually peaked LOWER on the Hot 100, so should she not release another (your words) "great" song like that again? Anyways, "Drunk In Love" actually did start a trend with SURFBOARDT becoming a thing (hello, me!). Was it this groundbreaking earth-shattering single that changed the face of music for years to come? No. (But its parent album fits in that category) It was just a good song that people liked, and it doesn't have to be anything more than that.

Yes she should keep churning out generic, forgettable ephemera like "Irreplaceable" because it smashes on pop radio and peaks at #1 on the Hot 100. We don't want genre-defining singles and sonic tapestries like "Drunk in Love". No, ma'am.

I don't care what we get (provided it's good), I'm just happy at the prospect of new music! If given a choice though, I would gladly take an album full of songs like "Drunk In Love" over an album like I Am... Sasha Fierce.

I'm arguing that we don't need any more Drunk In Love, 711 type shit. I'll take an album that strays away from what's popular (4/B'Day) any day, especially if that means I don't have to listen to her bragging about her weird sex life anymore. Halo may not have peaked as high as her her more microwavable singles but its one of her songs that makes her career stand out, ala Single Ladies, Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, End of Time, Survivor, Independent Women, If I Were A Boy, Resentment, Love On Top, 1+1... Drunk In Love was a fad and her take on this trend of weak ass trap love songs!

I never really affiliated "Drunk In Love" with trap, though I wouldn't deny the sub-genre's influences. I felt like it was a perfect strong, modern R&B record that was more smooth and soulful than anything resembling trap.
7/11 can keep that distinction though. I never cared for that noisy shit, too much going on.
I'm kind of torn on what direction I want Beyonce to go musically. While they were enjoyable for the first few months of their shelf life, she never really sold me on tracks like "XO", "Halo" and "If I were A Boy". I want her to get away from the generic obviously shopped around demos that don't at all sound authentic to her. 4 and Beyonce were a step in the right direction artistically, but lack the musical varitey and highlights I need from them to listen to the albums beginning to end. I'm still waiting for her to drop that album I want to revisit over and over. She's had some time, I hope she's done some soul searching so she can deliver that timeless album an artist of her caliber is capable of.

Right? The song won 2 Grammies, damn. Quit hating. it doesn't mean it's a great song And that's not hating. I don't like that song. I would love to hear more songs like Superpower, 1+1, Schoolin' Life, Love On Top...from her. Not that Rihanna/Nicki Minaj type of music. Beyoncé is better than that.

It was Beyonce's take on a modern day love song sung her way. I thought it was empowering in its sexual nature, and romantic as we all know she's painting an image of her and Jayz.
Love on Top, from 4, won a Grammy too. Are you going to say the Grammys f**ked up then, too? Even though it snubs a lot of deserving artists, most of the time, they get the winners correct. And very rarely do songs that suck win the award especially in Beyonce's categories. So say what you will about its popularity biases, all of beyonces Grammy wins have been very deserved, especially Drunk in Love.

I think Beyonce's better off being just Beyonce and going against the grain than giving in to peer pressure and doing her own take on Drake, Rihanna, Rae Sremmurd and others. But at the end of the day, she's free to do whatever she pleases.

How do we know it was peer pressure? You act like you all were personally hanging out with Bey in the studio when she recorded it.
