Hmm... does TK always end his era after 3 singles? I mean the last 3 albums as far as I know only had 3 singles.... HU (HU, AGAIOW, BBN), WTWM (GDABS, ALTL, CHT) and BDD (HMW, LMIYC, GMDO)... just a thought...

MAY 13Toby Keith "Toby Keith 35 Biggest Hits"(UMe) Source: Allaccess/CD Releases Why?!?!?! Oh why?!?!?! I read somewhere that he still had an obligation to release one more album off of his previous label, so I imagine that's what the GH is. I doubt there will be any new singles on it (one at the most), and I believe a new studio album is in the works for sometime in '08 (in addition to the soundtrack for his new movie that's coming out in the fall).

Albeit they aren't being released on the same label, I find it interesting that May 13 is also the tentative release date for Carter Chord's debut album...
Also, the track listing doesn't seem too hard to call. All of his top tens = 34. Then he can either keep "Upstairs Downtown" (which I don't think I've ever even heard, peaked at #10) or switch it out with "Get My Drink On," "Rock You Baby," "Getcha Some," or "Crash Here Tonight." I'd bet on switching it with one of the first two. Then of course "She's A Hottie" (*shudders*) = 35.

In general, most Greatest Hits packages from labels only contain the hits that were recorded for that label. Of course, Toby could allow them to put on the more recent songs, but I'm not sure if that will necessarily be the case. If those songs aren't on it, they'll just have to include some of the songs that didn't reach the Top 10 from that era (Big Ol' Truck, Getcha Some, Double Wide Paradise...) His new radio release also shows that it is on the Show Dog label, so I doubt it will be included in this set.

Well Toby's support is behind this album, so.. it's hard to call, because UMG is pushing the album while Show Dog is promoting the single..

I think the only album Toby put out after his last GH and before the switch to Show Dog, was Honky Tonk U, so another GH would be pointless without his newer songs. I agree with the point about Upstairs Downtown, and I also doubt that A Woman's Touch would be included (#6 in '96). Neither was included in his original GH, even though they were T10 hits (and I dont have even the faintest memory of either). I imagine Get My Drink On and Getcha Some would replace them (the others mensions would have to be considered, as I think would Big Ole Truck)

It sounds like I'm in the minority, but I really like "Upstairs Downtown". I think it's one of Toby's best.

I agree, 'Upstairs Downtown' is one of Toby's best songs to date. I agree as well. I think Boomtown is by far his best album.

There's some different (and better in my opinion) clips of Alan's new album here.

I don't know where else to put this, but this is an album thread anyways.
But I wanted to say that I am competely shocked at how low Target's selection of country Cds is. Target has a pretty long section of pop/rock/R&B/etc. albums. But the country section is so very small. If I stood in the middle of their country section, I could reach any album from artist A-Z without moving a step. It's insane..... Is it that bad at other Target's?

^^ I've noticed the dearth of country CDs at Target as well. It's a good thing Borders is close by. I buy as many CDs from them as I do Target.

They do have most of a 'half-aisle' (probably 5 steps long) filled mostly with country albums, and a section in the front "new releases" aisle about armspan's length devoted to country albums. But Borders. And for that matter Barns & Nobles. Neither EVER have an up-to-date selection of country albums. And they price them so high. :-\ I think I bought Enjoy The Ride for lke $16 or $17. I don't know why, Target had it for like $13 right next door. But I had to blow my old gift certificates on something.

Change To: May 20th #KEITH ANDERSON | C'Mon! (Columbia Nashville) Also, Alan's new album is called Good Time (not Good Times) and Phil's should be Prayer Of A Common Man (not Prayers Of A Common Man).

LOL at those last 3, you two. (Random thought, but I know we got a Keith A cover. Not too often do we get an album's cover art only to have the album pushed back.)

MAY 27Jypsi "Jypsi"Note: Digital Release date: APR 08 Now why would they do that? :-\ idk, but who cares! more good music SOONER!!! but not a good decision maybe its like Lyric Street did with Sarah Buxton's "Almost My Record" just to see if anyone buys it and then if it doesnt then they might cancel the CD
