Joe sounds great on this one. Very enjoyable and sounds like a country song. Should do well for him, easy top 15.

This song is fantastic if I ignore the lyrics, and still good if I consider them. The examples given aren't very strong, but I still can grasp the message of the song. Hopefully this will do well for Joe because I know he's still got a lot of good songs left in him.

According to HDD, "Freaks Like Me" got 23 adds today (might be 1-2 more stations later today). His last lead single ("Sunny and 75") got 46 impact day adds.

Ouch I know today had some rough competition but I thought this would at least pull 35+ adds. Ah well very slow and steady for this song.

It was expecting 28-32, so this number is slightly less than I was originally expecting. As for that competition...Sam Hunt, ZBB, Rascal Flatts (impacted last week) and Craig Morgan all had more adds than Joe today.

What the heck is wrong with country radio. This is not a very good sign for Joe, I'm a little concerned now.

I like Joe a lot, and his last album was a masterpiece, but I don't love this. A lot like how I feel about Michael Rays new song, it sounds good, but the lyrics are kind of bothersome.

I'm loving this song, and I think it sounds like a hit to me. I hope it follows in the path of "Sunny and 75" and "Yeah" from the past couple years.

Why am I not surprised this was originally going to be a Justin Moore song?

I personally love this song. Hope the cumulus add helps this get some movement going!

Yes, this is an absolutely hilarious moment in his concerts! He goes on a little rant about the state of the country music industry, and then says that he has his own version of one of those songs that panders to modern trends to do for us. It is so awesome :) I'm a little surprised he would put it on an album, but I guess why not!

It remains to be seen if we have to wait a while for that next album to get released. "Freaks Like Me" has only gained about 300k in MB audience over the past five weeks and the song went for adds back in September. The new 14 adds (Cumulus block) will certainly help but this one is moving very slowly and if it does become a hit, it'll be a long climb.

Really never thought that "Baby Got Back" cover would actually make it onto a record with an actual studio recording, but I saw him do it live in summer of '14 and thought it was a clever and enjoyable cover, so I'm definitely not opposed to that idea at all. He pulled it off insanely well and it just worked... strangely enough, lol.
Glad that the Cumulus block jumped on this one finally. Maybe this one can finally get going soon, I hope... seeing this one off to such a slow start is disappointing because I thought he'd have a little more momentum after the two smash hits from Crickets, but this song is great and sounds like a hit to me so I'll try to remain optimistic.

A little off-topic, but the biggest mistake Justin Moore made was not releasing "I'd Want It To Be Yours", another song about butts.

Red Bow put up an ad in the non-chart issue of Airhceck this week for this song, so they're still promoting it. What they'll most likely do is see if they can hold with this one through January (especially since KKBQ in Houston recently added it) but if this one still isn't doing anything, they'll officially pull the plug. "Freaks Like Me" went for adds 15 weeks ago and is having a whale of a time just cracking the Mediabase top 50 and staying there.

I love Joe Nichols but I'm beginning to have an issue with people saying that he and Chris Young are carrying the "traditional flag". This song is barely any different than anything else we'd hear. In fact it's fairly boring and overproduced. Joe can do so much better. Just because people have deep voices doesn't make them traditional. I want to hear the Joe we heard on Crickets. Modernized but has that throwback sound.

Like, it's not like this single is some big departure from what he was giving us in the past couple years with his last album at all. It's not a Mo Pitney sound by any means, but this is definitely one of the more country-sounding releases on the charts right now from his vocal performance (which, yes, will always give him a country edge over some of his peers) and the lyrics and feel of the song. This is one of my favorite male singles out there right now (and there's quite a few right now that I enjoy), and it's definitely better than a decent chunk of the stuff on Crickets, which was a very solid album but still had its share of filler that wasn't all that interesting ("Y'ant To," "Hee Haw," "Gotta Love It").

The more I think about it the more I think it'd be best for Joe Nichols and Red Bow to just stop with this song as it's on week 15 and it hasn't even cracked the Top 50?! Yeah I think it might be best to stop promotion pretty early in 2016 because this song isn't going anywhere.

I don't think Joe recording his own version of a Sir-Mix-A-Lot song is a really good idea. It will definitely sound out of place.

He's been doing it live at his shows and it's hilarious and actually works really quite well, surprisingly. I think it's a cool idea to throw that on the album and pretty harmless since it's clearly not going to radio either way. I see no harm in it at all, especially since it's already a proven success from his live shows.

I'm wondering how much longer this one can last it hasn't moved much in a while his bullet on MB is at a -61 so I think Red Bow is probably going to pull promotion soon.
