YES!!!!! THIS IS THE ONE I WANTED. I was worried that wouldn't release this because we are heading into Fall/Winter, but I'm so glad they still are. FLAGALine did this last year with "Sun Daze", releasing a summer song in the fall, and it worked. Only difference is that this one is actually good.

Great upbeat choice to follow-up "Girl Crush". This isn't one of my favorites from the album, but it's probably the safest to send to country radio. I'm gonna predict a #1.

Great choice. I love the chorus on this one, and it's nice and breezy coming off their more serious "Girl Crush". I don't really get any immediate summer vibes from this one either. Sure it will sound great in warmer weather, but I don't feel that it will feel that out of place in the winter months. I am anticipating a long and steady climb with this single though.

I really hope that "Pain Killer" can help continue the chart trends for this era. I love this song, and was hoping this or "Quit Breaking Up With Me" would be the third single choice. (Although, "Quit Breaking Up With Me" might of been a more awkward choice, given the three country divorces in the last two weeks). I hope this can reach the top spot after "Girl Crush" was robbed and had the rug pulled out from underneath at #2. A good, fun song to end out summer, which also should suit radio just fine.

Great choice! Hopefully LBT can get 3 consecutive top 10s, which they've never done before. They're long overdue for consistent radio success...

It would be ironic if this song sells half of what "Girl Crush" did, but makes it to #1. Is it better to sell a load of downloads, or go to #1? "Girl Crush" has sold over 1.5 million as of last week, so to even reach half of that would be pretty difficult to do for an LBT single (not that it's impossible), or as a matter of fact, for many non A-list country singers (LBT's not an A-lister at radio). So it's probably going to happen. As for the question, I don't know which the labels prefer... Little Big Town's only had one #1 on Billboard and three on Mediabase but their recent singles have all sold pretty well relative to their performance at radio, so it's not like they need #1 songs to sustain their career. So I would say in LBT's case, I think lots of downloads might be better since I don't think #1 is a huge priority for them.

I prefer "Quit Breaking Up with Me" just a bit more than this, but I'm glad that they're releasing the title track because I think either of the two would've been the best single choice and this one might be just a bit better for radio. I still would be over the moon if they follow this with QBUWM as the fourth and final single; it would literally be a perfect singles era, imo. This one had better hit the top too after the "Girl Crush" snafu at the final stretch. :'( Good, now my mom will stop complaining about Girl Crush. She still hates it, Thanks for keeping us all updated.

Not a fan of this one, or any of the remaining tracks outside of "Tumble and Fall" and "Live Forever". I'm thinking this will do pretty well for them though.

I agree that something uptempo and light needed to be released after "Girl Crush," and if it came down to this or "Quit Breaking Up With Me," I think the right decision was made. I think the plan was to always release "Pain Killer" for the summer, but I think this song could easily work for the fall months as well. I was always expecting this one to get released, and I do think now is the right time for that to happen. I'm going to be optimistic and predict at least a top 10 peak.
I think that they will go with one more single after this, and I really hope that it's "Faster Gun." I understand that's a riskier choice for radio, but it's such a great song that I want it to happen anyway. "Tornado" was released and turned out to be a major success for them. The two are actually similar to one another; both are stylistically very dark with cleverly written metaphorical lyrics.
Do you guys think it is possible that this will be the final single from the record, though? I would normally say no with a fair amount of certainty, but LBT does have a Christmas album coming out, so maybe they will go with a lead single from that instead? I have no clue, so I figured I'd ask for everyone else's thoughts on that lol.

"Pain Killer" won't have even peaked at radio until after Christmas, either. So, no, I definitely think a fourth single is highly likely from this album, especially if the title track does very well like I expect it to. The Christmas album is a side project and will not interfere with or truncate the Pain Killer era.

Fantastic choice. The singles this era have been spot on and I agree that "Quit Breaking Up With Me" needs to be the fourth single. It's a shame that "Girl Crush" missed out on no. 1 but hopefully this can make up for it!

I was floored yet thrilled beyond belief when this ridiculously wonderful CD snagged an ACM nomination for Album of the Year only to dishearteningly lose to 'Platinum'.
That said, the news that this is now a single is downright awesome, and I'm definitely looking forward to hearing this standout track on the radio well into 2016.
I'm also overjoyed that these classy and dowñright LIKEABLE artists have finally hit the big time after plugging away for over TWELVE years---patience is indeed a virtue, and there's is little doubt that this is now the pre-eminent group is all of country music, and pretty soon they'll all be shelling out more $$$$ for enlarging their respective trophy cases, and hopefully for years to come.
I also expect a fourth single from this superb CD; Quit Breaking Up With Me would be a perfect choice.

Platinum is a far better record imo, but personal opinion aside, they're both very well-received albums. You make it sound like they lost to a Jason Aldean record or something, lol I agree with everything else you said though.

A little surprised that they went with this one, only because last I heard they were leaning toward "Quit Breaking Up With Me". That was back in mid July though, so they probably just decided to go with "Pain Killer" instead (those were really the only two that they were considering for single #3). I've only listened to this song a few times (still don't have the album yet #oops) but I think this is a pretty good choice, and I do remember liking it well enough. I definitely think it'll be a grower for me. My absolute favorite is still "Tumble & Fall", though.

The music video is perfect for the song. Love the beach aesthetic and the general goofiness of it as well. And I absolutely love that cover artwork, too! That's probably the best visual to come out of the era for me personally (as far as covers go).

I agree, .indulgecountry. I kind of wish they would have used the video location for the album shoot. The video has a very tropical, 'put your troubles away' kind of feeling. The album cover is far too dim in regards to the lighting, IMO. The single cover art is miles better, though.

"Summer theme" song writers take note-you CAN write a quality summer song without Bro Country stuff or copious bikini babes. LBT hit it right with Pontoon and now this. I like the Reggae sound.
Then again, I usually like most of their material.

I agree-I don't think anything specifically in the lyrics say Summer-but it just seems like an easy going song with production that has a 'vacation' sort of feel; even the video makes me think of time at the Beach with good friends, and the Reggae vibe also lends itself to summer, kind of like Jake Owen's Beachin. But yeah, obviously they aren't releasing it in the summer anyway, so I"m sure it isn't meant to be a summer song specifically.

The lyrics of this aren't summery but the feel of the song still very much is. Won't matter though because it'll be a big hit regardless of the season(s) it charts during. They're riding high right now and this is super radio-friendly, so I'm holding out hope for this to be their second BB airplay #1.
