UGH! Damn restrictions! The song even on Spotify isn't available in Mexico... surprise! *shakes head* The studio version hasn't been released yet anywhere, so it'll probably be on Spotify shortly after Thomas Rhett's album comes out on September 25. LOL, yeah, like lyhom said, I saw the little Spotify thingy and said "Awesome, a free song to listen!" and the song "I Feel Good" that I was wanting to play, isn't available. As for the real single, I love that he is releasing a country sounding song. That's how I knew about him, through country. And I might be in the minority, but I get a little kick out of him releasing these promo singles that are not country lol edit - Thanks daydrinker! I listened to it on youtube! Ahhhh, soooo good! I love everything he does anyway lol

Anyway, I'm honestly a bit concerned about this being a single. It seems like Thomas wanted this to get a radio push and it's a decent song, but it's not really what radio looks for these days. Thomas' success has always come from up-tempo radio fodder. I'm interested to see how the single turns out. If we get something with really stripped down, country production this may have a harder time at radio. "T-Shirt" would have been an easier sell for a second single. I think Thomas Rhett has enough starpower and momentum right now to have a stripped down country song become a big hit at country radio.

^I don't know about this. Look at how little slack radio has cut Dierks Bentley for releasing "Riser," and Dierks is supposed to be at an all-time high in his career. Thomas doesn't have much more momentum than Dierks did after "Say You Do." I could easily see this struggling at radio. I'm not saying it will for sure, but I could absolutely see it if this doesn't sound radio-friendly or the numbers don't measure up.

It's supposed to be his most countriest sounding song on the album, but I didn't hear anything about it being "Burning House Pt. 2". Not to mention he broke through with "It Goes Like This", which was a slower style love song.

There's a huge difference between Bentley and Rhett, though; the latter is a new, hot superstar who could literally get anything to shoot up the charts right now, while Bentley has long passed those days. It's a bit unrealistic to compare an artist who's been around 10+ years to an artist who's (practically) new by comparison. Of course the momentum and radio response is going to be vastly different, these guys are at completely different ends of the spectrum, and in this case, comparing them makes little sense, anyway.

I finally listened to "I Feel Good" and "T-Shirt," and while I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at this point by how little personality Thomas Rhett has as a recording artist, I still find it pretty amazing that he has chosen this path in which his status as a hitmaker means transforming himself into a cipher and staying out of the way of the production of the song so that the beats and grooves can make their mark. I understand that he doesn't have much of a voice, but it's as if he isn't even bothering to work on anything that would mark these songs as his own. It's a strategy that has worked for some pop stars (Britney Spears, for example), but it really is downright bizarre to see it employed in country.

Video: peoplem.ag/8dcnUvlYeah this is really good. Nice arrangement, love the steel. Like a country version of that "Thinking Out Loud" song everyone loved. I expect this to be huge.

This is probably his best song since "Beer With Jesus", and while this one may be extremely cheesy, I think it may be my favorite from him. His voice actually suits the song, and it isn't extremely grating. Dare I say, this is an actual good song from Thomas Rhett

Really nice song and I like the background instrumentation. He could have easily went with something like "Vacation" (since yeah, some stations had already spun it) and probably would have gotten away with it. This shows some respect.

Quite like this... The lyrics are a bit cheesy, but really like the instrumentation.
I like how his tone is distinguishable and somewhat different from his peers but I personally feel it also needs to stay within a very specific "range" to sound good and not become irritating to me. having said that, I think this songs compliments his voice very well.

I had a bigger reaction to this than when I heard "Dirt".....I don't care for Thomas but this is actually a great song.

Wow, this totally sounds like "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheerhan. It's mostly in the first 30 seconds though, as the vocals don't sound very similar. That being said, I quite like this. It's the type of song that will sound just as good 30 years from now. I think Rhett has got another big hit on his hands, and I think this could even become his biggest hit. It's an extremely smart move to release this second, and it wouldn't surprise me if this is the song that officially puts him on the A-list.

I'd say this will be the next single he releases to iTunes tonight since it's the next single.

Wow that was really good. I definitely hear the resemblance to Thinking Out Loud. It's in the same key. As for the chord progression I'll have to look into it but I think it's different. Perhaps there's some Jack Johnson in there too. LOVE the use of traditional country instruments. Based on Rhett's heavy pop influence on this album I bet he tried to copy Sheeran. Hopefully Ed Sheeran doesn't file for copyright infringement lol.

This is definitely looking like country's "Thinking Out Loud," whether that's a good thing or not. It's already up to #60 on iTunes all-genre, while it was #77 when I first logged on this am. Sales are always front-loaded but this is a much stronger showing than Thomas' previous three instant grat tracks, which all also sold well, and in addition I expect Thomas is selling a lot of pre-orders. Should be a solid #1 or better.

That video is going viral. A lot of people who I normally don't talk country music with have asked me if I've seen it yet.

Pretty good effort from Thomas. I love the heavy use of steel, and overall a very cleanly produced track (even if i don't care for the driven beat). The chorus melody even seems to be quite country, though it bothers me that he seems to go out of his way to de-emphasize that by slowing the track down and over emphasizing the beat. This is pretty good, but i certainly don't want this to be the new template for lightly produced ballads.

...I'm definitely hearing "Thinking Out Loud" when I listen to this, which is not a good thing for me, because I hate that song. That brings this song down for me, which sucks, because I like this melody way better. Hopefully I'll get over it, because otherwise, I enjoy this. The bridge is my favorite part; it's beautiful. The chorus is also quite good. Nothing about this is bad; I just wish it wasn't so reminiscent of a song that annoys me.

This is up to #18 on iTunes, right behind the current top selling country song, Luke's SID. That's way higher than the other TR insta-grat tracks he's released. This definitely looks to be a big hit for Thomas, although it's sure my least favorite song I've heard from TU so far.
