Yeah this grew on me a bit. I still think the song is disjointed though. As good as Eric Nally is on the chorus, I just don't think it fits on this.

The more I hear this the more I Love it. A lot of people say the song sounds disconnected. Maybe a little but the song is a little quirky and I think that makes it all come together. Even "Thrift Shop" was a little strange when I first heard it. Then after a couple of listens it was all good.

The song's really grown on me now, so damn catchy. Anywho, congrats to MM, RL, and company for flying high with "Downtown." Hope this hits top 10.

This is...interesting. Leave it up to Mackelmore to make a whole song about mopeds, LOL. Anyway, the chorus with that "singer" makes me wish I didn't have ears. Was that caterwauling really necessary? Ugh. They didn't have to add so many different segments to it, but I'm really liking it on first listen. The first minute sounds like something Kurtis Blow or Grandmaster Flash would have recorded in the 80's. I wish they would have subbed out the actual chorus for the mini-like chorus that goes on around the 50 second mark, and then I think we would have had a better song. But at least it's not a copycat song and tries to sound original (while paying homage at the same time). The Grandmaster Flash reference is not a coincidence as legends Grandmaster Caz, Melle Mel, and Kool Moe Dee all appear in the song. Along with Eric Nally - and here's a good one - all four artists appear in the credits in its listing on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart! I haven't heard the song yet, but I wonder how much that all of them actually contribute to the song?

I really like this song because it has most of the genres, It has a jazz feel, a hip hop beat and lyrics, a pop audience and if you listen closely you can hear a bit of electronic/EDM. So happy it's taking off on radio

So I think the lyrics in the first few verses are atrocious, but the lyrics in the last one kinda brilliant. Am I just weird here, or anyone else feel the same?

So does this have bad call-out scores or something? It's been stalling on pop but holding fairly steady in the top 10 on iTunes. Hoping it at least gets to top 10 on pop!

This actually hasn't hit enough familiarity to make the callout list yet. It's still not present in today's scores.

I honestly think this is just stalling. It's top 5 on iTunes so clearly people like it. It did the same on Rhythmic for a few weeks, and it's picked back up there now, so I hope it does the same here.

Because it's so "all over the place"....that unfortunately makes it a channel changer for me.

I don't like how 'gimmicky' the rapping is. It was the main reason I never got into Thrift Shop. I much prefer the more serious Can't Hold Us and Same Love (although I never really listened to either by choice, but I wouldn't turn them off). I still listen to this from time to time, but skip Macklemore

Happy to see them doing well, but this track does nothing for me. Im hoping for something I enjoy next single.
