Hello: It is that time of year again! I will copy from last year's tournament: As summer draws to a close, I thought I would fulfill what I promised by setting up the Summertime Madness tournament. This is similar to the March Madness Tournament that we had earlier this year. To recap, list 8 songs that made your summer. They will then face off against other people's entries until we can proclaim a final song of the summer in time for Labor Day. You have until Aug. 25th at 6AM Mountain Time to submit your songs. NOTE: I have decided to do this a little differently. Do NOT submit your songs in thread. Please PM me your top 12 songs in order. I will then randomize the order based on the respondents. This way, everyone has an equal chance to submit first. If you choose songs that someone already selected, I will pull from your four alternates. I will PM you if we need additional songs from you. I will copy the rules from the other tournaments here: There is no limit on the number of participants. The number of rounds is subject to the number of participants. Otherwise, we will go through the usual cycle of preliminaries, quarter-finals, sweet sixteen, semi-finals, final four, and championship. Rounds will last 24-48 hours. I will post the full bracket at Challonge Vote for the song you most prefer of the two songs listed. One vote for each battle per person. You are not required to vote on each battle. You do not have to submit songs to be able to vote. In the first round, ties will be broken by higher bracket number. For subsequent rounds, ties will be broken first by total cumulative vote, including previous rounds. Keep this in mind when you rank your songs. You may not include a song that was already in the March Madness tournament (so "King," "Biscuits," for example are out) |

Sure, why not; but is it 8 songs, or 12? I'm confused. Also, do they have to be songs from 2015, or can we include older material?

I have a playlist of about 150 songs that "defined" my summer. |
