Katy Perry's second studio album. Released in 2010, it spawned the number one singles: 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework', 'E.T.', and 'Last Friday Night.' It also included the top 3 hit 'The One That Got Away.'
Teenage Dream was the second album to ever produce five #1 singles. Only Michael Jackson's "Bad" was the other album to do so. Katy was also the first and only female to produce five #1's from the same album.
The album has sold over 3 million in the U.S. and over 5 million worldwide. The album was re-released as "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection" in 2012 and spawned the #1 single 'Part Of Me' and the top 3 hit 'Wide Awake'.
This is the album that made me stan for Katy. The album was filled with so many hits and the era lasted over two years.

Teenage Dream (song) is one of the best crafted pop songs ever.

Bish better shit with this album. Everything was on point, and I loved every single. The remix to "Last Friday Night" did not need to happen, but Katy made up for it during the Super Bowl.

Fun pop album, but it doesn't hold up for me today. I think I overplayed the singles and I never cared much for the album tracks outside of "Hummingbird Heartbeat."

I didn't get it then and I certainly don't get it now. This is not a good album, most of the singles weren't even good IMO. "Teenage Dream," "E.T." and "Wide Awake" are the only songs that do anything for me. Everything else is so run-of-the-mill and downright basic.
I understand that most pop music is formulated to be a hit, but Katy's music sounds like it's formulated to be a hit. Nothing spontaneous or personable about it. Just lifeless. Even her humor and personality (which a lot of people use to defend her music and performances) seem manufactured most of the time.

Definitely one of the most iconic album eras in recent memory, even before the re-release that spawned 2 more major hits. California Gurls hit the public in May 2010 and Wide Awake wasn't finished charting until late summer 2012. As a whole, I definitely enjoy this album more than Prism.

This album spawned some fantastic pop singles. And I would argue that it's one of the most well-executed album eras ever. EVERYTHING was on point and done in a timely manner.

It was an excellently handled era, no doubt. With the exception of "Firework" and "The One That Got Away," I really loved/liked the singles of the standard edition.

This is an amazing pop album that still stands strong for me today. I even have the complete confection issue, and I love it.

Celebrated 10 years on August 24. This is the most important pop album of the 2010s, IMO.

I'm more of a casual Katy fan but this is the one album of hers that I really, really, like.
