Will Carly Rae's new release Emotion receive any attention outside of the critical acclaim, will it produce a hit single? Will she follow a more cult following, less radio following like Lana etc? What should she do to ensure success?
This album is too good to be ignored, and something just has to be done, if anyone disagrees on the quality of the album, please tell me why. Is Emotion gonna flop or is there a chance for it to have success, however moderate. What do you all think? Please explain why you feel the way you feel on your viewpoint.

Any reasons why you feel this way?

I like some of the album, but not "I Really Like You". Awful song.

Hopefully yes. But people love to see quality albums flopping and crap ruling the charts, so I don't have a lot of hope.

Unfortunately, I think the ship has sailed. I was also hoping for some Grammy love, but she it feels like everyone has already picked all the nominees and she hadn't been mentioned once, not that she couldn't be a wildcard nominee. It's a travesty, but I am very glad we got the album at all and Carly and Emotion can be our special secret guilty pleasure.

Anything could happen. I was surprised by the extreme amount of critical acclaim it got, but perhaps it got it because Emotion isn't masquerading as some high art or earth-shaking disruption to the social order--it's a fun Pop album. In a market with so many of those attempted masterpieces that don't deliver, Carly's is a case of WYSISWYG. Hopefully with the right single, promo, and opportunity, it will be successful. But people love to see quality albums flopping and crap ruling the charts, so I don't have a lot of hope. Do they? Adele, Sam Smith, and Taylor Swift's albums were of quality and were smashing left and right. And now The Weeknd's is.

Unfortunately, probably not. Carly's management team is terrible and have blown their chances over and over again. Too bad cuz Carly is actually a pretty good singer and is marketable enough to be successful. I still can't get over the fact that people don't even think of Good Time as her hit even though she was a lead artist on that song and it only charted because of her.

So... "Run Away with Me" re-entered the top 50 on pop today.

Eh...I'd say nope. Pop fans are still treating CRJ like a novelty.

What is that shit about bad albums doing well on charts, any additional info about that?
The fact that one person doesn't like it, doesn't make an album crap.

I love this album! It's really OK for better success for Carly but I'm never disappointed by listening to this album!

From the point that I Really Like You exited charts, the album was done for. Its a great album but it isn't backed up by proper management, Runaway was lucky to make some charts, truly deserved to be her most successful song. Although I do hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Emotions to justify its place as 2015's pure pop perfection.
