She's going to be lucky to debut top 20 with a tidal exclusive. I honestly think part of making it exclusive for a week is so they can basically retcon it and act like it never happened, then come back with a real album next year that will be a "surprise" While I agree with most of the things you said, Tidal exclusive or not, there is no way she doesn't debut in the Top 20.

Yes there is, there is no userbase on Tidal for her to get the types of streams she'll need to move that number of SEA units. Justin Bieber's album had 77 million streams weak 1 with Spotify far more widereaching userbase, and that was with 3 hit singles. Thats 51k SEA units. Tidal has no users to speak of, the "hits" from Rihanna's album all peaked months ago and quickly faded, and with no presence at retail on Black Friday she's going to get lost in the shuffle anyway. Let's say she somehow does the impossible and gets half that number of streams week 1 (which I think is highly unlikely), that's 25k units, which would have missed the top 10 last week. 25k units would have put her somewhere between 19 and 16. In a more competitive week i.e. the week of black friday, she's going to struggle.

Anti might climb into top ten when it's available everywhere in December but that's about it I'd say

We don't know how many streams American Oxygen, released as a Tidal exclusive, had when it was first released, because it didn't chart until it was released digitally the following week. But the week that it debuted on the Hot 100 it had 2.1 million streams. Across all platforms.
BBHMM was streamed a peak of 10 million times (USA) in one week, the week the music video was released. After that, it's streaming dropped like a rock and its currently at less than 60 million views (globally)
Let's be honest, there is no hype to her release, and by doing it exclusively on a platform that nobody uses, who is even going to know it exists?

The reliability of these rumours has dwindled this year. Nothing's going to happen. But it was two years ago this week that Beyonce dropped hers.

Ariana's Christmas EP is out - I don't think that's it and I definitely don't think they'd override it with a full normal album tomorrow. I don't think Rihanna's coming either since only five of the eight rooms on her app thing are open, so I think she won't be out until January. I do kind of think something is coming tomorrow considering the amount of abnormal releases today - who it is, though, I'm not sure.

Kanye tweeted 4 days ago that he was finishing his album. It's not likely, but Kanye's the type of individual who'd likely agree to releasing an album right after it's finished. And he could too.
Isn't Beyonce filming a video right now? It could be for something else like a tour visual and everything else could be ready to go for another "visual" album, but with her and Adele both on Columbia, it's a natural assumption that the label would rather hold off until Adele's weekly sales are at a level where Beyonce's first week can see her continue her #1 streak.

Maxwell is on Columbia too. He tweeted today that his album will be played there. Plus his concert tix go on sale tomorrow. Not getting my hopes up though.

I have no idea who it might be. Although Kanye was my first thought. Britney, Katy etc are very unlikely... Another surprise release from Bey wouldn't be much of a surprise... Rihanna nah... Her album release date has been speculated on for months. It's 99% not Bruno since he was spotted leaving recording studio just hours ago.

Is it this? hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298975ARE THE BEATLES STREAMING INTO CHRISTMAS? Rumor has it that tomorrow's big reveal from Apple, rather than a sneak attack from a current superstar, will be nothing less than the availability of The Beatles catalog for streaming.
The band behind that other music company called Apple (with their catalog under the auspices of Capitol) would of course up the ante considerably for Apple Music subscriptions just in time for Christmas. That would be pretty Fab, no? We can't say for sure if it's true, but it sure would be "Fixing a Hole" in the tech giant's offerings.

That would be the stupidest big news ever. They re-release Beatles discography in some capacity every other year anyway.

While it wouldn't be big news for most of us here, locking down an exclusive on a group with a fan base as wide as the Beatles is definitely a step in the right direction for Apple Music. They may even turn that into their main selling point lol. Not saying that it would be HUGE, but it definitely will keep Apple Music as a steady competitor against Spotify.

True, but this being the year that Apple Music was launched, the season for gift cards, and some free trial/former free trial members potentially in between decisions, it is a good move. Anticlimactic because the tease was for NEW material from someone, but if this is happening, it's good on their part. At the very least, it may entice some new people to sign up for the trial and inflate their numbers to show.

The demographic most likely to care about Beatles music isn't signing up for a streaming service to listen to music they already own in a half dozen other formats already.

A lot of people are probably just scared after Adele released her album. I'm sure if she was not releasing this year, we would have seen a bunch of other heavy hitters put stuff out. Even if the discs are great, they are going to keep getting shoveled under due to the holidays and Adele. Might as well wait until January when at least some of the initial buzz dies down. January is a smart time to release an album because it is often quiet. An A-Lister with a big album can easily see big success then (Drake is rumored to be out in January.) I also think doing a surprise album the week of (or even the night of) The Grammys would be interesting as well. If said act could also somehow land a Grammy performance slot..
