This officially goes for adds on October 5th.
edit: if you pre-ordered the album on iTunes it is now available :) ... and if you listen to "Everything I See" have a box of kleenex available.

As of today, "Cold Beer Conversation" has about 400 spins and 2.5 million in MB audience, which would put it just below the MB top 50 today.

Strong stuff and I would say it's the most powerful song he may have ever cut. Not many songs get me the first time through, but this one did.

I think Everything I See may be the most personal song George has ever given us. Its so perfect it hurts.

Hoping for at least top 10 for this one. George is only 6 top tens behind Eddy Arnold for most top ten hits all time. I'd love to see him break that record also since he has the most #1 hits.

I just heard this today. I love the warmth in the tone and lyrics, and the flowing melody. It's also very well produced. I'm also glad that MCA isn't delaying the album from the failure of Let It Go.

I was hoping George Strait could have 100 top tens, 50 #1s, and 100 weeks at the top. I love Strait, but that's not going to happen.

Hopefully this song will break into the top 40 at least. It is a lot better than the first single "Let It Go". If it doesn't do well on the charts I'm afraid George is falling into that same downward spiral as Alan Jackson and Toby Keith. Which is a shame considering the only relevant 90's artists still around having hits are Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.

With Dustin Lynch, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Kip Moore officially being sent recurrent later this afternoon, "Cold Beer Conversation" should debut at #46 on MB. :)

"Cold Beer Conversation" got 27 adds today and is already at #44 on the MB rolling chart, after two days in the MB top 50. "I Got A Car" took six weeks to get that high. "Let It Go" never even cracked the MB top 50.
It remains to be seen if this one can last long enough for a decent peak since the album launch this past weekend was a jolt of momentum for "Cold Beer Conversation." I'm expecting a negative update come Thursday since this song was debuted last Wednesday.

I hope it scrapes the Top 40 but honestly, if they REALLY wanted radio hits from this, the first track on the album ("It Was Love") or "Rock Paper Scissors" would've been better choices but given the album's title I see why "Cold Beer Conversation" was released.

This IS top 40. You'll see it on tonight's Billboard chart. George had enough audience after 1 day at radio to be top 40.

This is my favourite George Strait single in years...probably the first one of his I've really liked since "Living For The Night" (though, I guess I somewhat liked "I Got A Car").
I wonder if this will pull a Steven Tyler though, and drop off the charts the week after a pre-arranged top 40 debut. Probably not....I imagine it will hang in there, and place in the 50s next week. I imagine its debut will likely be its peak, though.

This officially goes for adds October 5th, the same day as label mate Eric Paslay's "High Class." I guess UMG isn't too invested in radio promo for George anymore?

I don't think so....I think the adds date is really more of a formality. "Cold Beer Conversation" is, imo, just a way for them to get word out about the album. I wouldn't be surprised if the pre-arranged airplay that lead to its #35 debut is really the extent of the promotion for this song. I'd be pretty surprised if it ended up surpassing that peak.

Well, George has 27 adds today and I still doubt he gets "Cold Beer Conversation" to become another big hit since George's age is still a huge factor and his debut was due to the surprise album launch. I don't think George's song will be accomplishing too much more than this week (I'd love to be wrong though). Kip Moore (another UMG artist) goes for adds on October 12th and I really think that Paslay or Strait won't effect each other come next week. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Nice big ad from MCA tonight in the Country update. I agree that if they wanted to impact the chart, "It Was Love" would peak higher. But I love the song regardless :)

I don't own any of George's pre box set albums so I'm judging them strictly on singles. I think I would have maybe ranked "Right or Wrong" and "Chill of an Early Fall" a little higher, and definitely "#7" would have been higher. I totally agree with "Blue Clear Sky" at #1. Also glad to see "Carrying Your Love With Me" and "Pure Country" up there as well. "Troubadour" is probably my favorite of the 2000s.

I like this song. Musically it has a similar feel to me as "Cowgirls". Subject wise it kind of reminds me of Faith Hills "Secret of Life" or Billy Curringtons "People are Crazy". These cold beer conversations have been inspiring songs for a long time, like "Old Dogs Children and Watermelon Wine" by Tom T Hall, or any number of Jimmy Buffett songs ("He Went to Paris", "Cowboy in the Jungle", "African Friend"). Although to be fair maybe those are rum conversations.

I'm expecting a negative update come Thursday since this song was debuted last Wednesday. As expected, "Cold Beer Conversation" had its 8th day update and has fallen out of the MB top 50.

Debuts at #17 on the digital chart with 10,000 sold. Congratulations, George Strait!

"Cold Beer Conversation" was tied for the fifth most added song on MB this week, with 11 adds on impact day (38 total stations).
