Since we technically can't have this thread in the Country forum due to rules and such, I've decided to make the thread here.
Tracklist: 1. It Was Love 2. Cold Beer Conversation 3. Let It Go 4. Goin' Goin' Gone 5. Something Going Down 6. Take Me To Texas 7. It Takes All Kinds 8. Stop and Drink 9. Everything I See 10. Rock Paper Scissors 11. Wish You Well 12. Cheaper Than A Shrink 13. Even When I Can't Feel It
I personally haven't gotten a chance to listen to this yet (will change that tonight), but I figured we needed a place to talk about this album :)

Thank you @ zack97 for opening a thread for this album. I was busy earlier and just didn't get around to it. I haven't had the chance to listen to this album and be completely focused on it. I've heard a few songs all the way through and the rest were on in the background. I will listen to the album tonight and tomorrow and give my track rankings. Everything I have caught is SO good though.

I've listened through it twice now so here are my rankings :)
Love: Take Me To Texas Something Going Down It Takes All Kinds Everything I See Rock Paper Scissors Cheaper Than A Shrink Even When I Can't Feel It It Was Love
Like: Cold Beer Conversation Goin' Goin' Gone Stop and Drink Wish You Well
Meh: Let It Go
Wow, what a great album! The first half of the album is certainly not bad or anything (in fact it's quite good), but the latter half just blows it away in terms of quality. "Everything I See", and "Even When I Can't Feel It" are some of his best work yet. "Rock Paper Scissors" might be the most George has ever delved into rock lol. "It Takes All Kinds" has a classic Western Swing feel to it, and is one of the most fun tracks on here. Honestly, the only track I don't care for is "Let It Go". It's not bad, but with 13 tracks it could have easily been cut. I'm still mad it didn't do jack squat at radio but still....
Overall it's an awesome record and another fine addition to Strait's discography! :)

Yeah but you need a link to listen, and most people do Spotify, and this isn't on Spotify lol

I can really only echo what zack97 has said. This album exceeded my expectations for sure. When I first heard, "Let It Go" on the ACM Awards, it was just okay. And, while the song has definitely grown on me since, it is probably the weakest track, IMO. It's not bad by any means but when you put "Let It Go" up against the rest of this album, the rest rises well above the first single. My favorite song has to be, "Everything I See." It's so personal, raw, and full of emotion. A different context, but similar in spots to Reba's, "Just Like Them Horses" from her Love Somebody album. Rankings:- "Everything I See"
- "Take Me To Texas"
- "Cheaper Than A Shrink"
- "Even When I Can't Feel It"
- "Something Going Down"
- "Goin' Goin' Gone"
- "It Takes All Kinds"
- "Wish You Well"
- "Stop And Drink"
- "Cold Beer Conversation"
- "It Was Love"
- "Rock Paper Scissors"
- "Let It Go"
"Cheaper Than A Shrink" is another great, solid song. "Take Me To Texas" is only above "Cheaper Than A Shrink" because vocally, lyrically, and stylistically it fits today's radio climate better than anything else on the record. It fits the climate, and yet it doesn't feel like George aimed for that to happen. It is delivered effortlessly and is SUCH a good song. I can't imagine hearing much of any of the singles released from this album, as I never heard "Let It Go" once. "Cold Beer Conversation" is even more traditional sounding, like an early 2000s George. It's not what radio is looking for, but it feels like MCA isn't worried about the album's performance at radio. All of these songs are too country for country radio. It's sad but very true. Ultimately, I am so happy this album got released and I have to admit it was sort of nice to have it be a surprise. Even if that wasn't George's intention and more of an executive decision made by MCA. Another great album by George for sure. 10/10.

Projected to debut with 75-80k (78-82k SPS) per HITS. Not bad numbers considering that this is a 'surprise' release. Imagine the numbers if it had proper promotion and Let It Go was at least a top twenty hit.

Hey zack97, I just created a listening party thread in the Country forum. Here is the link!Someone posted the whole album on YouTube, so I figured that was a good enough reason to start a listening party even though it is not on Spotify yet :) Now maybe more people will participate!
