Just listened to the preview and man this is solid. Charles and Eric's voices work together really well I am curious to see how this does at radio.

This is a beautiful song. I really wasn't expecting something like this, so down-tempo and introspective and deep. This is not your conventional radio single in 2015 but I do hope this can become a surprise smash because I love this. Radio could stand to benefit from more material like this to balance out all the fluff. Also I'm thrilled that there's something Eric Paslay's involved in that doesn't make me cringe! (Though the other two vocalists on this obviously are far, far superior.)

Like the first name only reference to "Dierks" There wasn't enough space to include all the full names and the song title, in the thread title. So I just put "Dierks" since I'm pretty positive everyone will know who that is.

Interesting to see how he does without Lady A. Obviously his vocals are on point so now its up to radio.

Wow, I really like this! I mean I like Lady A and all but maybe his solo move isn't such a bad idea....

It's different sounding than everyone else. I'm not sure how I feel about it or how it'll do on radio. I'm curious is this a one off song release for him or will this be something he actively pursues while Lady A is having down time? I haven't seen anything mentioned about this at all so I was surprised to see this all happening.

I'm curious to see what the solo project does for him then! I could easily see him doing what Kristian Bush has talked about how he could do both a solo career right along side of Sugarland at some point, if Lady A's break is a short one. But maybe a solo project and a bit of down time for Lady A will be a good thing for them. It'll give them time to experience things outside of the group and come back to it with new passion and things to pour into the song.

Wow that was quick. Just announced Lady A were on hiatus. I wasn't expecting a single until after new year. But nonetheless, this is really good. No better way for Charles to go solo then a good mid tempo. It would have been laughable if he tried the Bro / R&B route and try to bandwagon. I applaud the risk here. Good song

This is quite good, but man is it going to standout on the radio. For that reason alone I say this one won't make it out of the 20's, but I'd like to be proven wrong.

I would have to agree, but I hope you are wrong. Only because, this is unlike anything that is being played right now. It might shift the climate just the slightest bit. I would have expected Charles to be the last of the three to release solo music (due to the fact he has his first baby due in February). I thought for sure the band break was more for his purposes. But, they will all have kids come Spring so maybe it's best that they take a break - work separately, and regroup for new freshness. If that makes any sense.

I always preferred his voice in Lady A, but this song is so much better than everything Lady A has released. I really hope for a successful run.

Love this. This gives me a Zac Brown Band vibe. As far as Lady A goes, I can't help but think if they had cut this song as a group, the majority of the feelings would be that it's too boring.

^ lol, I agree. But I have to admit that I roll my eyes every time I read "Lady Antebellum". I don't think they've released anything appealing in ages, and I used to be what you would call an admirer.
If I'm not mistaken, Charles Kelley had released a couple of pop/AC albums before Lady A, right? I think I might have a few of his old songs, but anyway, I really enjoy his voice and the song is pretty good.

Charles probably has my 3rd favorite voice in country music currently (behind Carrie and David Nail). This fact paired with the fact that I never cared much for Hilary's vocals and I haven't liked much that they put out since their excellent debut album, has me hopeful that we actually get a solo album from him.
I just listened to this for the first time and I can't see it doing all that well on radio. (So) it sounds like a great song. However, I do wish his first single as a solo artist would have been... a solo.
I'm sure I'll chime back in after a week of listening.

According to Ashley Ray's facebook, he played a concert tonight and he might have played/cut one of her songs.

When did this song go to iTunes? A few days ago? Early sales aren't as great as I'd expect based on name recognition, as this is only #1171 on the iTunes chart.

I wasn't expecting much from this tbh... I was a big Lady A fan right when they first came out, but with every new release I lost interest. They became such a boring group to me.
Having said that, I'm very surprised by this. I really like it! It fits him very well and I hope it can find it's way on radio. Interested to hear more of his future solo work!

Not fond of the stuff lady A has put out lately but damn this song is amazing. Maybe he can find more success solo crazy to think I know
