I am surprised that she is all set to release another album when she is still planning a tour for the first album that will never happen and no one wants to even go see.
This little bit in a The Daily Beast article speaks the truth loud and clear:

This will be interesting, her last era was a big success but a lot of things happened since that. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber show that you can survive tons of bad press and if there's a genre that doesn't care about good reputation (at least personal good reputation in the normal sense of the word) that's rap. So we'll see.

Jesus so much negativity. I'm excited she makes for an interesting star. The first time I heard work and black widow I loved it. She has made a lot of poor decisions post this by doing really shitty pop stuff like booty and pretty girls. Like it really dented her authenticity for me. If she can pull it together she will be fine. Everything rides on the first single

Iggy doesn't get any more hate than Nicki did in 2012 or Justin Bieber did for about 4 years. Eminem had a big racist controversy back in the day too after a phone call and song he made leaked (can't remember exact details but you can probably find it somewhere on Youtube). Maybe a left-wing extremist should dig it out and spread it over the Internet as much as possible to make everybody in the world hate Eminem? lol good luck with that. Iggy is kind of the opposite of Lady Gaga. People have extremely low expectations for Iggy (lots of people genuinely think her career is over because she had 3 songs miss the top 20 lol), so if she even does moderately well people will be shocked and people might bandwagon back onto her. Lady Gaga was the opposite, people expected her to have every single going #1 in 2011 (instead it was Katy and Adele), so even though she was very successful that year she was being branded an underperformance or even a flop because she didn't do as well as expected. Iggy's situation is honestly better since she doesn't need to do much to "overperform". However, I know how people work. The people who really hate her will just spend the rest of their lives going on Twitter saying her career is over even when it clearly isn't. She's just going to be less successful than before. There are plenty of rappers who have long careers while only getting the occasional top 40 hit. Iggy may be white and female, but I don't see why she can't do that too. Tech N9ne only very recently got hit first ever top 100 hit! Think how mental that is. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tech_N9ne_discography#Singles

This little bit in a The Daily Beast article speaks the truth loud and clear: I mean, I don't like her either, but did you expect her to just lay down and end her music career? Time off not touring might as well be spent recording so she can send new music to radio and retail, where she's already experienced success.

I feel like Iggy and her team made every wrong decision in the world and that will really hamper what future success she could have had. While its true that sometimes rap artists survive for quite some time without having big pop hits, I am not sure I see that in her cards. Historically, it isn't white women rappers who do that especially since, to a certain extent, I feel like she doesn't quite get the rap genre or how to survive in it. I have spoken about that before though and particularly how Eminem took a very similar problem, but dealt with it in a completely different way. Its frustrating, because the right team could have mitigated some of these issues. At times, I have thought someone on her team was actively sabotaging her It will be an uphill climb from here on out, but I have found that the right song cuts through a lot of the bullshit. This just needs to be the right song.

Love Plastic Love, It was more of herself, if anything. Her Twitter Spats, broken promises(hyping up the " Beg For It" video when it was never filmed), botched performances(especially the SNL one).

She was definitely the main issue and it could be that she is pretty much solely to blame, but I still think a better team would have helped. Like, whoever is handling her PR is an embarrassment...or hates her lol.

I thought she said the first single wasn't going to be the pop radio one? Then again she says so much stuff only to end up doing the exact opposite...
She already surpassed every commercial expectation set for her prior to Fancy with her debut era considering some didn't even expect her to ever chart in the US or get an album release date period so I'm just glad to see she's still excited about her music career after all the bs she gets.

isnt it called zillion lol That's a buzz track also set to drop soon to give a feel of what to expect from her new album. She said we'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds so I suppose (hope) there's already some sort of rollout planned for everything.

All she needs is the right song. She still has a sizable fan base and following going for her.

This little bit in a The Daily Beast article speaks the truth loud and clear: I'm assuming you, and that Daily Beast blogger, must've missed her actual first headlining tour in the US (that did very well, as far as I know) to support her debut album last year, The New Classic Tour. Sure they were House of Blues-sized venues at best (?) and happened around the time Fancy was just starting to be huge but the move to arenas off those others hit she got after was way too ambitious from her dumbass team as well but that hardly means she still can't make some nice coins from touring, no? The one that got cancelled (The Great Escape Tour) was supposed to be a transition for the new album where she'd do stuff from both eras, she even tweeted the name was related to it, but she scrapped all the music she already had for the 2nd album around that time and started over tho so now there will be a complete new tour planned around the new project next year as well (I think in the official statement regarding that, the tour promoter actually said the dates were selling well and were going to do fine or whatever which is why they didn't explore a move to smaller venues although I hope that's exactly what ends up happening indeed for this new tour since its the only logical move.)

I think Iggy's bad press/waning reputation is more similar to Macklemore than Bieber. I don't see her being huge again but she could have a decent-sized radio hit if the song is good.

"Best"/Worst/Most trainwreck thread frontrunner for the 2016 PMAs.
I'm hoping for the best as far as the material goes. I enjoyed TNC/Reclassified, but it's obvious they're aiming for something different so it'll be interesting to see how that pans out.
She'd also likely do better to begin promotion for this overseas (where her 2015 has been far better than stateside) and slowly gauge the reaction and potential in the US.

Doubtful this will do anything. I don't feel like there's any interest in her anymore, and the fact that it will be following 3 flops won't help much either.
