I definitely agree that this is miles better than DMD.
The only thing that might hurt this song is how similar it sounds to "Style".

After initially being indifferent towards it, I have now become obsessed with this and can't stop playing it. The chorus is the best thing Harry has they've ever done. The melody, the vocals... I LIVE!! :'( :'( 1D you'll be missed. :'(

That will depend if any of them is successful in his solo career, that moment they are done. And in case of come back, they will need to change some things, because boy band formats generally don't work if they have certain age. Fortunately for them, they play instruments so it won't be that difficult to transform them in a more traditional band

I can't picture Niall, Liam and Louis being Harry's band and still be called 1D unless Harry goes officially solo and carries them with him at his shows to play the instruemnts.

As i say, their reunion will pass for all the solo careers failing, if one of them is successful this will be N'Sync all over again. They were five solo vocalist when they audition to X factor. I think most of them don't have a chance to be successful as a solo artists, but at least one of them have. Remake themselves to fit again (boybands are calling that way and not men bands for a reason) will be needed if they stop their career too long (and if there are solo projects they will need to stop for a good while). They have the dissavantage that all of them play lead vocals on the band, adapting to a more traditional band is easier with the usual approach of two main vocalist and the rest making the chorus, so frankly i have no idea what they should do to adapt

Y'all are out to lunch here with solo careers discussion and N'Sync comparisons... Come on, there's a lot of years of boybands and it's always the same thing, they take a break, some (or all) members try solo projects, and sometimes they come back together (and most times not) And if you want to talk about the song, there's not much to say, it's doing well, but all their songs do well at this stage

Those groups were starting to run out of steam… they had members who were a bit older and/or lacked star quality… and social media was not what it is today… Besides, I don't think N'Sync even toured outside of North America… they certainly weren't filling stadiums in South America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, etc. There's still a lot of potential for success here and, of course, money to be made so start thinking outside the box. There are some dramatic shifts just around the bend but there gonna be management and PR-related and not the kind of thing you've seen in the past.

There are some dramatic shifts just around the bend but there gonna management and PR-related and not the kind of thing you've seen in the past. I agree with some things, they exceeded expectations by far, they are still very popular (but there's a feeling that they already peaked) and not even Simon Cowell could expect his experiment not only would be so successful but it had longevity. N'Sync weren't that big in Europe for sure, the comparision was due to the fact they were in a good moment when J C and Justin tried their solo careers, it was expected to reunite again, but after Justin's success all was over. They are still young, and look even younger, and of course stopping for a while could be as simple as the need to rest (because nobody supports that rhythm for long time), but as i say they were origninally solo singles, they have different tastes in music, so it's expected to try new projects. They have the advantage that they seem to like each other (most group breaks are due to internal problems) but for a boyband (no matter how successful they are) shelf life is limited (and usually short), so if they want to continue they will need to reinvent themselves. Their other advantage is that in this social media era, fans seem to be more faithfull to their idols (like Justin Bieber's return seems to show)

It looks like Ariana at #31 will jump "Perfect" in a day or 2. But this should rebound to the top 30 by the time the chart closes next weekend.

This is fucking amazing. Their best single to date by miles. Sort of reminds me of Coldplay a bit, tbh.

This grabbed my attention, but all it does is make me want to listen to "Style." This definitely isn't bad, though. Probably their best single since "Story of My Life."

well, i'm on the other side, i think it's a pleasant single but it sounds like a poor version of Style. I don't think it'll go further than their usual top 20 (of course i was wrong with Drag me down)

I don't think this is gonna be a CHR/Pop #1 or anything, but I can see a top 5 peak for this one with a small chance to finally get them an official top 3 peak after 2 swings and misses in the past.

Like this though not quite as much as DMD. The chorus is really where this song shines though. It's all about that chorus. Glad it's off to a good start -- hope it continues and they get back-to-back Top 10s on CHR for the first time ever. <3

3 Spot jump overnight to #16. So top 15 should happen any day now! DMD is falling slower than any peaked falling 1D single since SOML. So happy that radio really is into the boy's era this time. I just hope "Infinity" doesn't ruin it, but I fear it will. Have they sung Perfect on any US to shows ?? AMAs, Ellen, and Jimmy Kimmel
