Ugh that was straight up soul! I wish damn radio would give this love. True R&B voices.

You are welcome... This is the same issue I have with her, she's better live than in studio

She is too young to be put in the old box, but I think she does it to herself. I wish I could get the Fantasia from her 2nd album back.

Confirmed in a recent radio interview that she’s officially indie (guess the Concord deal was strictly for the Xmas album); working with Missy and Danja on her new album. http://instagram.com/p/Bg2N_8yHkMb

Her performance at Aretha's funeral moved me the most of all the performances. She is such a gift.

I really hate the way she screams. it sounds like she is going to cough up a lung. I really wish she would keep her shoes on. Her outfit was gorgeous.

Talk about soul-stirring!! Her voice is unmatched and I really hope she gets some proper material to showcase it on her next album.

Such a beautiful moment. Watching her perform is like watching Aretha, just blows you away with her soul and incredible skill every damn time. It's always such a joy to see everyone on stage and in the audience blown away when Fantasia is doing her thing, she really makes you realize how little charts/success matter.

I'm not religious but FANTASIA puts the religious in me hard! Goosebumps when she opens her mouth. She is a gift from god.
Anybody who says oh she screams isnt too bright IMO

I'm fully convinced she would have been a legend had she come out 30 years before she did.

fantasia is a legend talent, iconic vocalist and grande dame of soul with a dollar store discography .... I need her to use it to make classics and more than an average or good song here and there! (songwriting is underrated gift)

(songwriting is underrated gift) If she came out 30+ years ago, she likely would have material more suited to her talents because her label wouldn't be chasing post-2000 Urban radio hits. She came out during that time when Urban radio was moving away from the "diva" (and R&B groups, but that's not relevant here) and more traditional R&B to hip-hop oriented material. I don't think Fantasia does that kind of material well, so it put her in an awkward place. Jennifer Hudson experienced the same thing. There's this constant "she needs to do more youthful age appropriate material!" countered by "she needs to stop trend-chasing and do material worthy of her talents!". Lose/lose.

I love her cover of chain of fools. I still have her single for Believe with a studio version of Chain. :)
I loved all of Fantasias album, her last one I would say I liked least, but it was still a good effort. I don’t think I listened to the Xmas album.

I think even if you ignore radio airplay and just talk about good material, she hasn't been able to produce a lot of it lately. She has bwen on this whole "rock soul" thing and i don't think she's recorded anything great since "bittersweet."

You all knock her as if Side Effect of You album isn't a great album and one of the best that year. That album felt like Fantasia's becoming her own.

Let us NOT forget the "Fantasia" album soooo underappreciated. That album had a great mixture something for EVERYBODY her traditional base, rock, reggae pop and contemporary. Would LOVE to see her work with Raphael Saadiq (sp?) again

The Definition of... is the weak link in her discography. And even that had "So Blue" which is a jam and the Tina Turner-esque tracks "Lonely Legend" and "Crazy" which were great.
