So she loved singing with Luke so much that she gave by far her worst vocal performance ever?

So she loved singing with Luke so much that she gave by far her worst vocal performance ever? Maybe she didn't want to upstage him, lol. ;) Seriously though this song sounds like an unfinished demo to me so they probably could've improved a lot of things, honestly or just thrown it out because it's a garbage song.

That shows you how weak a vocalist Luke is, that even Karen at half-ass mode is still singing circles around him.

Yes in his opinion. Now your just looking for an argument For the love of God, stop. I'm sorry about that I think I have found the account that can easily trigger my buttons. Sorry again. I need to make sure I stop with this stuff I don't wanna be known for being a troll. In related news to this song Home Alone Tonight passed the falling LoCash so I don't see how this one doesn't hit the top and I could see another multi week #1.

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone but we need to seriously stop it. I literally cannot take these back-and-forth conversations about posters intent and character anymore -- it has zero to do with the songs and derails the thread. I'm to the point where I just stop reading the posts in any thread if I notice one of these exchanges starting, and usually reading through threads gives me great pleasure.
Let's talk about "Home Alone Tonight." I know it can be a difficult task, lol. :)

I don't know what good may be hiding on his latest record (certainly haven't been persuaded by any of these singles so far to check it out), but I hope the fourth single is much better than any of the prior ones. I'm ready for something else... something more in the lane of "Roller Coaster" or "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" would be nice.

The unfortunate thing is that the album is actually really good (in my opinion, of course), but three of the worst tracks have become singles. "Scarecrows", "Fast", "Buddies", "Little Boys Grow Up And Dogs Get Old", "Way Way Back" and "Just Over" are all fantastic songs that would have made much, much better singles than anything released so far.

I'd add Razor Blade to that list. But I agree, they're putting the absolute worst songs of the bunch out, which drives me absolutely insane because at this point in his career, Luke can literally release anything and they're just sending the safe, poor quality songs to radio.

I really hope that the 4th song choice for this album is decent. Luke so far this era has acted like a douche (Kick The Dust Up), a creep (Strip It Down), or a whiny loser (Home Alone Tonight), if I was Luke I would release "To The Moon Back" or "Fast" just not "Move" or "Kill The Lights" those songs don't show leadership those show an artist who sells better than arguably anybody else pandering to the lowest common denominator.

I felt like "Kick the Dust Up" and "Strip It Down" were good single choices for Luke. They are in the vein of what he has released before - a fun kind of party/dance song and a romantic song that would be fitting for a married man with kids. "Home Alone Tonight" is a departure for him I think.

Damn, y'all Country fans sure do hate this song huh? I freakin' love it . But I don't listen to much Country music so I can see where true Country lovers wouldn't be here for this. This was definitely meant for the more mainstream/Pop leaning crowds like myself.

I've definently been a pop music fan for the most part, and I hate this. I did manage to like "Strip It Down" somehow, but I thought "Kick the Dust Up" was even worse than this. What a dissapointing era so far from Luke.

Are they gunning for a third week at no.1 on both charts? Cause I would be perfectly content with this song blocking out Granger Smith. It would be ideal if this song has one more week at the top, followed by Kelsea the week after.

But if it absolutely must stay on top, I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over "Backroad Song" missing #1 either. I cannot even remember a time where I was previously this bored with the top 10... I suppose "ideal" for me would be Carrie Underwood suddenly leaping to the top and holding it for 10-15 weeks until some of the songs in the 30s and 40s have a chance to catch up.

Broken Bow/Wheelhouse is going for #1 this week so I would think Capitol would be content with a two week stay, especially since Broken Bow is going to be getting substantial spin gains this week. We'll see if Capitol has let go of this tomorrow and Wednesday. A part of me would love for UMG to hold on for another week but man, I really dislike this song. So Granger taking #1 would be fine for me.

Capitol didn't have a "Thanks for #1 add" this week in either newsletter, and that leads me to believe they're still gunning for a 3rd week in top. Things should get interesting. If Luke can win this week for a 3rd week on top, he could have a good possibility at 4 weeks since Kelsea Ballerini is still behind by nearly 10 million. I personally want Granger to get the #1 this week because I much prefer his song. But I also wouldn't hate another multi-week #1 that more accurately reflected what was popular.

"Home Alone Tonight" lost 33 spins and 100k in audience today, while "Backroad Song" gained 110 spins and 700k in audience.
Luke's song cannot grow anymore that what it has accumulated already, so staying relatively flat is what they're going for if they wish to stay one more week at the top.

Capitol didn't have a "Thanks for #1 ad" this week in either newsletter, and that leads me to believe they're still gunning for a 3rd week in top. They are. This ad is running in the Country Aircheck emails this week: Granger's team seems hell-bent on getting to #1, as evidenced by their ridiculous push last week (up over 6.2 million on Billboard, with a bullet of nearly 1100) and continuing into this week. I have my doubts that Luke can hang onto the top spot, and even though I dislike "Home Alone Tonight" more than I dislike "Backroad Song", I'd rather see Luke and Karen spend a 3rd week at #1. As you said, that would be a better reflection of the fact that "Home Alone Tonight" is clearly a much bigger hit than "Backroad Song" is. It's rare to see two songs well over 60 million in Mediabase audience, but since Kelsea is the only other one above 50 million it's a bit easier for both Luke and Granger to be at such astronomically high airplay levels. Still, it's not gonna be easy for radio and both labels to keep these songs at such high levels for much longer. I expect it'll come down to how many stations put Granger as their #1 for the week, and how many keep Luke/Karen at #1. I do think Granger will come out on top. He's got the whole "good will with radio" thing going for him, given that this is his first mainstream single and it's the first-ever single promoted by the Wheelhouse imprint, not to mention the possibility that iHeartMedia stations might give Granger an extra boost, given that "Backroad Song" was an On The Verge selection and iHeartMedia will be all too happy to claim victory if/when another one of their OTV picks goes #1. Furthermore, many radio stations (and perhaps the Wheelhouse promo team) will probably try to justify it by saying "well, Luke already got 2 weeks at #1..."

This song is the 680th #1 song in the Billboard Country Airplay era! I hope this song don't keep Granger Smith's "Backroad Song" from going #1. I love both songs but I like Granger's better.

I don't think "Home Alone Tonight" will hang on for a third week at #1. "Backroad Song" has gained 4.0 million in audience since Sunday and 3.0 million in audience since Monday. Luke's song has lost about 400k in audience on Mediabase since Monday, so that should place Granger extremely close to overtaking Luke on Billboard Airplay. Granger's song has also gained over 500 spins this Mediabase week, so I think "Backroad Song" will claim #1 on both charts this week, unless Capitol can make a small comeback over the weekend.

I'm hoping it's the rumored "To The Moon and Back". It's not something I would go out of my way to listen to but it would probably be the first single from Bryan in a LONG time that I could actually get behind.
