HITS just announced that Traveller is likely headed to #1 on the 200! Holy hell! That would be something. Traveller originally peaked at #2 country and #14 top 200. Chris Stapleton is ready to take over the world. Very glad he won a trio of awards last night.

HITS just announced that Traveller is likely headed to #1 on the 200! Holy hell! He has the boost right now after the awards, but I doubt he finishes first. Eric Church just released a surprise album, and I'd bet by the end of the tracking week he finishes in first place.

I wish George Jones was still alive to have seen that performance of his song last night and see the chart action it's having now!
Also, I would love to see Chris get "Album of the Year" at the Grammys and I believe he will in the Country category. Overall, I still think it's Taylor's "1989" to lose.

I'm still rooting for Kacey to get her second Best Country Album Grammy (and I think she has a much better chance there than the CMAs), but if she ends up losing, it better be to Chris! It would be an as deserved win. As for Album of the Year, I still think Kendrick Lamar has a better chance than anyone else, more than Taylor (who will be the JT and Beyoncé if of 2015, favorite popular artist who ends up losing the big prize). I think Chris' biggest battle will be getting nominated... If he can get in, he might have a great chance.

Many people think he was robbed by Macklemore a few years ago for Best Rap Album, so it wouldn't surprise me to see some more goodwill thrown his way. Although Eminem was never able to win Album of the Year, so that might not bode well for Lamar.

Yeah, competition are pretty wide open for this years' AofY, but I'm going with Kendrick (even though rappers have a bad track record in this category). I think he has the acclaim, good sales and background story to put on a good fight. Still, I wouldn't bet money on it before seeing the nominations... As I said, getting nominated it the hardest part with the Grammys, once you achieve that, it's easier to paint the cenarios. Chris has definitely entered the main stage with his CMA success and even tough a bit late in the nominating process, I think it will be enough to make an impact.

I wonder whether "Drink You Away" and "Tennessee Whiskey" CMA 2015 YouTube videos are eligible to chart on Country Streaming Songs. The first has so many streams it would easily make #1 and the latter #3 or #4.

It looks like "Tennesse Whiskey" will debut at #1 on Hot Country Songs chart. The sales alone (likely in the 120k-150k range) will be enough to debut at #1 on Hot Country Songs, similar to Craig Wayne Boyd after winning The Voice.

All Access is already showing 22 starters for "Nobody To Blame", with about 500k in total audience. This single should end up doing much better than "Traveller" but it remains to be seen if this can make an impact on country radio.

Wow, "Nobody To Blame" is showing 30 starters this week, with over 140 total spins.
According to HDD, this song could very well end up getting a large number of adds, based on the starters and the 5 committed stations, already showing up on Mediabase's add board. "Mr. Misunderstood", "Home Alone Tonight", "Confession" and "Drunk On Your Love" will also be getting a good amount of adds, so November 9th should be extremely interesting.

"Nobody To Blame" could end up seeing a very big add day, tomorrow. As of today, its showing nearly 40 starters and well over 1.5 million in audience. This will debut with flying colors in the Billboard top 60. I just hope that most, if not all of these stations have indeed added the song and its not just a one time thing on the heels of the CMA's. I'm sure radio stations feel the pressure to play this song since many folks are asking about Stapleton's music. The numbers are super encouraging, though.
I was at a restaurant last night and I overheard this group of people at the table adjacent from me, talking about Chris Stapleton and his performance with Justin Timberlake and his big night at the CMA's. That night did absolute wonders for him. His name has been everywhere the past five days.

I understand the target demographic but at some point if they want to encompass new fans to a more traditional sound this is the guy to jump start it. Country radio needed an "excuse" to start playing this sound again. The CMA's ushered in that excuse. I expect this to be at least a top 20 song for Chris.

Wow! 33 adds right now and counting this is exciting to watch how mant adds Chris gets. Poor Ashley Campbell though she will probably be the one who doesn't get many adds at all.

The sales alone (likely in the 120k-150k range) will be enough to debut at #1 on Hot Country Songs, similar to Craig Wayne Boyd after winning The Voice. You're right: Among action outside the Hot 100's top 10, Elle King's "Ex's & Oh's" holds at its No. 12 peak; Alessia Cara's debut hit "Here" rises to a new best rank (15-13); and Chris Stapleton rockets onto the chart at No. 23 with "Tennessee Whiskey," from his album Traveller, which re-enters the Billboard 200 at No. 1 following his multiple wins at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards on Nov. 4.

Debuts at no. 46 on Billboard. Lol, it matched the peak of "What Are You Listening To?", in one week.

This song for some reason reminds me of George Strait's song "Give It Away". I like both songs but don't know why they seem similar.

If it took universal acclaim and an "Adele-like" movement to get him going, I'm all for it. The record is fantastic as we all expected it to be and those Steeldrivers records he sings on should all see upticks too. The man is a star vocally and can prove, a la Adele, that you don't have to be a certain body size or facial look to be a star if your project is worth it.
E.T.A: After reading the Aircheck comments from some PDs, they're still skeptical that this music will reach mass appeal and that it's only 'exploding' because of the Industry's coronation of Chris. We'll see of course but those folks gotta stop being so skeptical. The only reason it doesn't 'work' on country radio is country radio will not play it (or didn't even attempt to til the award show success).
