In just 4 days, it's become the 13th most popular tweet ever. It boggles my mind that something as basic and mundane as that tweet is so popular but as his albums lately have shown he has loyal (albeit crazy) stans.

We need more info on the new album. I'm curious regarding the direction it will take.

Submission lists have leaked and his Netflix concert documentary will be competing at this year's Emmys. It has a good shot since the reception has been strong (100% on Rotten Tomatoes + Universal Acclaim on Metacritic) and it was Jonathan Demme's final movie. FutureSex/LoveShow won an Emmy (it was nominated for two) and the Emmys love him beyond the music, too. In just 4 days, it's become the 13th most popular tweet ever. It boggles my mind that something as basic and mundane as that tweet is so popular but as his albums lately have shown he has loyal (albeit crazy) stans. Are you sure you are not thinking about the fans of the other Justin?

I have to say, after his last two albums and "CSTF," I'm completely over him as an artist. I'll check it out, but if he never released anything again I wouldn't be upset.

I'm curious as to why you feel that way. While I didn't find 20/20 to be his strongest work, both albums had some great music, and Can't Stop the Feeling is catchy and fun. What about the direction he's taken his music do you not enjoy?

And "CSTF" was one of the most insufferable songs of 2016 for me. If he comes back with something great, I can get on board, that goes for pretty much any artist. But I'm not hyped or pining away for his return at all.

Hoping for an album more in line with FutureSex when he's done recording.

Hopefully this means it's coming soon. Also, he's become a member of the Academy and an Oscar voter:

I thought that was the reason you were becoming over his music but then you mentioned Part 2. I liked that a decent amount more than Part 1. lol I found it less artistic and more relaxed and fun. I also liked "Can't Stop The Feeling" as well. However I wouldn't want a cd filled with songs just like it I like when he just makes good music and doesn't try and create some kind of music movement like the 20 Experiences. I did like select tracks like "Mirrors, Murder" etc but a lot of tracks just ran to long.

Justin Timberlake slated to perform at Apollo in the Hamptons event
Justin Timberlake is due to perform at the eighth annual Apollo in the Hamptons event on Aug. 12.
Also, regulars Jamie Foxx, the Roots and Pharrell Williams are expected to take part.
The fundraiser — which has seen performances by Lionel Richie, among others — has raised $20 million for the iconic Harlem venue. The bash will be held at billionaire Ronald Perelman’s home, the Creeks, in East Hampton.I hoped we would have some news regarding the new era by now... he's at some tournament this and next week. I wonder if he's just gonna drop the album with no lead single.

If an album is coming this year, I don't think it'll come out until late November or December, with a single sometime in October.
He likely won't be able to match Taylor's first week, but if she follows her usual outline, she'll be around a month in from her album release.
The only other big-ish act I can think of who's releasing is Sam Smith, and I really don't think he'll match JT's opening sales in the US if they end up going head-to-head (in the UK, he'd likely come out on top though).

He's headlining and closing Rock in Rio on September 17th so I feel like we'll have the single by then. I think Taylor might change things up and release early next year. I see Sam doing slightly better than Lorde (with much worse music.) But Sam and Justin going head to head seems unlikely either way.

Album very likely coming during Q1 next year: Rob Stringer's Sony Music (26.8% YTD) will likely be led by RCA, which has albums on deck from P!nk, Miley Cyrus, Foo Fighters and possibly Justin Timberlake, (though it probably won’t drop until Q1), while sizzling Epic preps releases from Meghan Trainor and Fifth Harmony, and Columbia will release Celine Dion’s first album since 2013.

In talks to headline SB: TIMBERLAKE AND JAY-Z TO DO SUPER BOWL HALFTIME TOGETHERInformed sources say discussions are underway for Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z to perform together at halftime during Super Bowl LII (52) at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on 2/4. It would be a huge look for RCA superstar Timberlake’s forthcoming album, due in early 2018.JT and Jay-Z appeared together on the former’s smash “Suit and Tie” and the latter’s huge “Holy Grail,” and joined forces on the top-grossing Legends of the Summer Tour in 2013. Timberlake's 20/20 Experience Part 1 debuted at #1 in March 2013 with 980k; it was the year's biggest debut and release; it’s racked up nearly 3.6m SPS. Part 2 hit later that year, bowing at #1 with 348k. The Complete Experience set, meanwhile, has amassed about 2.7m SPS. The accompanying tour earned more than $230m in ticket sales.JT was of course part of the infamous halftime “wardrobe malfunction” at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. In case you’re too stoned to remember, Timberlake tore away Janet Jackson’s costume during the show and—whether it was intentional or not—the exposure of her bare breast on global TV was treated as an apocalyptic event. The FCC fined CBS a record $550k, though this was later voided in court. Though our moral guardians promised in the immediate aftermath that neither artist would ever perform at another Super Bowl, only Jackson was subsequently blacklisted by the NFL and not considered for any subsequent halftime bookings, while Timberlake was apparently let off the hook.Jay is such a leech.

I think he's getting ready for the premieres of his movie in that.
I could see him dropping a single this year, but if he's releasing the album next year and bypassing Q4 altogether, he could do what Ed did and drop it the first weekend in January and have the first big hype of the new year for himself.

Here's the Wonder Wheel trailer:
As for the album, if he really is doing the Superbowl, then I expect a huge rollout for the album and/or single starting in January.

Releasing a single in January worked for him for The 20/20 Experience (although there was so much hype due to it being his first release in 6 years), so I can see a Q1 release happening. This time he might have the Super Bowl too so...

He did great at the F1 concert tonight but I'll probably never see him in another festival-type setting again. I missed the production value that came with the 20/20 Experience Tour. The only new addition to the setlist was Can't Stop the Feeling.

If Jason Lipshutz is going to be pressed as a result of this, I officially cannot be as indifferent to this happening as I thought I was originally going to be.
