.....and Jim and Jack and Hank.
I'm not home. Otherwise I'd listen to the song, but I will say I'm glad to have Trace back. The man has the talent, he just has dipped into the novelty song well way too many times.

Won't bother listening to the live video, but I can't wait to hear this because that title has definitely piqued my interest. I have a good feeling about it. Please don't let me down, Trace.

I've stated for too many years to count that he's far and away the format's most infuriating artist; how someone who's delivered masterpieces from Every Light In The House to You're Gonna Miss This can also record DOA trainwrecks such as Swing and several others boggles my mind.
I'm glad that new music from him is on the way but I'll withhold an opinion until I hear the studio version.

I'm glad to see Trace release new music. Hopefully this can at least scrape the top 40.

This is a great song. Excited to hear studio version but I think Trace will chart with this. Definitely sounds like a number 1, 10-15 years ago.

It's not going to work. Trace Adkins is not between Jesus and Jones like Jamey Johnson is between Jennings and Jones.

Interview where Trace talks some details about "Jesus And Jones", its writers and his finished album:
The song will be available for download in January, as well.

Live video sounds really good! Reminds me a bit of "Songs About Me" and also reminds me of something Montgomery Gentry would do stylistically. Excited to hear the studio of this one!

Thanks, Dustin! I'll get the audio up in the first post with the covert art. :) I agree with you, I really like this one. I never thought I would miss Trace so much. The lyrics are a little cliched but this song is perfect for Trace's vocals and I enjoy the production. Sounds like something he would have recorded in the mid to late 2000's.

I agree, a tad cliche, but I really like this upon first listen! The modern country-rock production works well and it's nice to see that Trace can still knock a song out of the park vocally. I'll most likely never hear it on the radio but this is solid stuff. Welcome back Trace!

Wouldn't be surprised to see this one do well with it being so long since there really has been any Trace music at radio and with this being his best song in years. Good stuff!

This is so so good. I don't know what it is but both Joe and Trace have come off of Toby's label and into the Broken Bow family and their material has substantially improved. I mean, I liked Cowboy's Back In Town but everything after - to me, was bland. This is definitely refreshing and I hope radio gives this a good whirl because it deserves a lot of attention. Trace still has it.

I finally got to hear this thanks to that lyric video, and I must say this sounds like what SHOULD be a smash hit for Trace (in a fair world). This is the freshest sound I have heard from him in probably almost a decade! I love it! He definitely still has his power as a vocalist and mojo as an artist :)

This is pretty good. Not really what I was expecting, but it's definitely a very radio-friendly song to come back with, so that's good. I do wish there was little more personality to this because the production feels rather flat and uninteresting to me and the melody of the song has a bit of a clumsy feel to it in parts, but I do like it quite a bit and certainly wouldn't mind seeing this become a surprise hit for Trace. This'll be an interesting one to watch because his radio career looked all but over before this, but with a fresh start on a new label and something this radio-friendly, who knows.

^ One thing to note is that he was on ShowDog which was really struggling with every one of their artists so It's a little unclear how much Trace was petering off vs. ShowDog just not performing how they should. His age makes me believe it was a mix of the two but I do think a stronger label could've kept him higher on the totem pole than he was with ShowDog.
As for my thoughts on the song, I like it. I do think you nailed it on the head when you say the production feels a little flat and uninteresting, but I've been finding most singles from this label group to have a similar feel so I'm not surprised. I'd like to see this hit even with the boring production choices because I've always liked what Trace brings to the table and this one fits in with his catalog very nicely.

Not sure if it's a coincidence or not that Trace's first BBR single sounds like something Jason Aldean would be right at home on. It's solid song though, and obviously Trace is a better vocalist than Jason. I don't know if radio has any interest in Trace at this point, but if they do this is exactly the type of song that could be a modest hit.

His age makes me believe it was a mix of the two but I do think a stronger label could've kept him higher on the totem pole than he was with ShowDog. This is a good point and I'm sure that played a factor as well, no doubt. His relationship with country radio has always been very up-and-down, too. This will definitely be a pretty interesting release to watch. There's really no telling how it's going to go yet.
