Already a #1 hit on Triple A, #3 on Alternative and Top 40 on Active Rock, "S.O.B.", the lead single from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats' self-titled album, is under CNM via AllAccess.

If Riptide could be a decent hit, I see no reason why this wouldn't.

Would be song of the year candidate if this did someone on CHR. Great song from a great band. Won't hold my breath, but I'll be rooting for this one for sure.

It's a succes on its own right (and it's near to enter billboard hot 100) but to do some damage on pop it will need a miracle, Take me to church style

I can see more Hot AC action over pop, but nonetheless, it should be multi-format slayage. Fast riser on my chart.

There is at least some interest in this with the successful Jimmy Fallon stint and with this being in the Top 100 on the overall iTunes chart. There's a shot this could do something, but I highly doubt it.

I didn't like this the first few times I heard it but then it came on the radio and it just clicked. Now I really like it. I also heard it on the local pop station last week too. I could see this catching on and going Top 5 on pop.
Edit; and now it's #5 on that pop station's daily top 6 @ 6. The same chart that Hello has only been #1 on a few days since it came out...somehow.

I can see more Hot AC action over pop, but nonetheless, it should be multi-format slayage. FYI, it's also under Cool New Music there. That said, I agree with you and it could do more on Hot AC than CHR/Pop, but I think that there's a possibility that it could be a sleeper hit in this format as well.

I think it could grab hold the novelty train on pop and ride that high. And then Nat will be labeled a one-hit-wonder despite having more alt hits.

One thing that might be troublesome is that it the main part of the chorus has the word "bitch" in it, which might make Pop stay away from it. They keep it uncensored on the Rock formats, but that's because they have a way different target audience. Pop radio is full of kiddies and parents and they might take offense to a song that has "bitch" just laid right in the middle like 10 times. If they blur it or replace it, it'll just ruin the whole song. "Edgy" songs tend to have a bit of a problem to get going, so this might as well, and this isn't as Pop friendly as others.

I checked this song out after I saw how high up it was on the Alt chart. It's different, and it could really be unique to the pop radio landscape. It may be a long shot for this to work here, because Pop radio has a picky audience and I can see this being rejected by them. Should probably do fine on Hot AC though

This has been gaining a lot of traction recently. It's performing beautifully on iTunes given its lower amounts of airplay and has been steadily increasing on Shazam meaning that people are hearing it and curious as to what it is. I see this doing very well. Maybe not a "huge hit," but I'd say top ten is probably going to happen for both pop and the Hot 100. Maybe a similar run to "Ex's & Oh's"?

Don't really like it, and I can't see it doing much on pop. The instrumental is quite boring, and the cursing in the chorus.. Maybe top 50, top 40 at best

I see this performing as well as "Come With Me Now" did from Kongos.

Meredith Brooks and her #1 Top 40 Pop hit "Bitch" says hello! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitch_(Meredith_Brooks_song) Also noted it was released the same time Hanson, Spice Girls, and BSB were tearing up the charts. I don't think today's audience is any different, if it is, it's actually progressed. www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/meredithbrooks/bitch.html

I think if a song like Bitch were released today, it wouldn't do well at all. The audience might have progressed but I feel like more things get censored - maybe because the audience knows what's up. Like if You Oughta Know were out, would "go down on you" be censored out now? And references to people "coming"? It's silly but sometimes I wonder what songs from the 90s would be censored differently today.

After second thought, I'm not so sure if I want this to do well on Pop radio, I'm having a hard time picturing a follow up do well (maybe "Howling At Nothing"?), and I really don't want to see this band get inappropriately get labeled as one-hit wonders.

One hit wonder is always better than no hit at all, but in my opinion you don't need to worry, i can't see this being a hit on pop
