I've always been indifferent to Big & Rich's music before (Fake I.D was a guilty pleasure). "Fake I.D" isn't anywhere close to their best music; it isn't even among their best upbeats. Horse Of A Different Color is an all-time album and if you haven't heard it, you should.

I have only listened to their singles "Save A Horse" was too oddball same for "Coming To Your City", and "Fake I.D" just had this unique thing about it, maybe it was the inclusion of Gretchen Wilson. Maybe I should try some of their albums as I assume they are more of an albums. Also, how had "Loving Lately" been doing lately (sorry for the pun).

"Lovin' Lately" is above the pace of "Run Away With You" by about 200 spins and 1.5 million in audience, along with a half-dozen Mediabase positions. I'm expecting this song to slow down and have some growing pains over the next few weeks but I still think this will get to the top 20, maybe higher.

I think that Big & Rich are best represented by their first two albums. At that point, the uptempo songs still felt fun and original and the ballads hit just as hard. They really seemed to be forcing the more upbeat songs on their later albums; for instance, "Loud" was just a hot mess and far beneath them, and stuff like "Fake ID" and "P䮆¥ Líkë Kö\/\/bøyzzzzz!!!111!11oneoneone" was just a joke. But their ballads still seemed to connect most of the time.
I always felt that when they were doing both novelties and ballads, that the people who wanted a "Holy Water" were not the same people who wanted a "Save a Horse", and that conflict was undercutting their chart performance.
This song is very well written, sung, and produced. They can still knock out a great ballad, and if this is the new form of Big & Rich, then I'll take it. But I just have one problem: I literally can't pick out Tim's voice at all. Even with the volume jacked up and my good headphones in, it just sounds like a generic backing vocalist filling in the harmonies a little more than usual.
I think that's because, to harmonize properly, each singer has to alter his or her delivery slightly until the vocal timbres complement. This is probably part of the reason behind John Rich sounding so different in Big & Rich than he did in Lonestar, because harmonizing with Big Kenny is very different from harmonizing with Richie McDonald. Conversely, this is why Patty Loveless stands out so much on "Monday Morning Church", because she doesn't really seem to alter her phrasing to try and match up with Alan's -- which to me suggests that she didn't even do her vocals in the same session as his. Likewise, this is probably why a lot of artists sing their own BGVs, because nothing has to change in the phrasing when you're singing along with yourself.
In other words, what happened here is that Tim did too good a job at blending his voice with Big & Rich's, to the point that it's near impossible to tell that's even him.

When I listen to this I almost feel like it's Big & Rich for the verses and then Tim McGraw on the chorus. Like, I literally hear Tim McGraw more during the chorus than I go the other two, lol. I get just the opposite effect here because he sounds completely front and center to me. If I didn't know what this song was or who sang it and I just happened to come across it on the radio during the chorus, my instinct would be to be like "Who is that singing with Tim McGraw?" When the first line of the chorus kicks in on the Who ya been lovin' lately? it's like "Hello Tim McGraw."

I'm with .indulgecountry on this one -- I can clearly pick out Tim's voice in this song, especially during the chorus. I do agree that it seems that Tim tried to blend his voice with Kenny and John (rather than making his harmonies stand out a bit more), but I can hear all 3 of them very easily and I think they all sound fantastic.

I'm assuming that Tim McGraw only sings on the chorus, that's the only time I can decipher his voice. Big & Rich and Tim McGraw need to collaborate more often, their voices mesh so well together. This song is definitely among my favorites out there right now and I hope this can still be a hit single.

I've owned this album for a while now and I've heard this song a bunch of times but I'm truly growing a further appreciation for it lately (no pun intended, lol), now that it's a single.
The harmonies and vocal arrangement is where this one excels. I'm amazed how well Kenny, John and Tim's vocals blend so smoothly in the chorus. I like it more with every listen and I hope The Highway actually starts playing it soon (they utterly ignored "Run Away With You").
I still miss the upbeat Big & Rich but man, they're great at these mid-tempos.

It does look like this song is technically eligible for recurrent status, as Big & Rich entered their 20th week last week without a bullet. I don't think this one will as they've gained around 40 spins this week and have stayed flat in audience. I do hope this song can find a way to be Top 10 as I still adore this song.
Despite being on a better pace then "Run Away With You" I have a couple of reservations of this one hitting the Top 10 (I think this one will cruise smoothly into the Top 20) and that's the sales as they've honestly been lagging behind ("Loving Lately" is around the 600s on iTunes), I hope the sales can catch up or otherwise I can see this one being a real slow mover through the 20s and crashing out in the teens.

Ok can radio just make up their mind on whether or not they're gonna keep supporting this, feels like this song has spent like 2 months in the 26-30 range and, feels like now it has a great week followed by a bad week.

New Revolution had this ad in Country Aircheck yesterday for "Lovin' Lately." The song got a handful of conversions this past week and it gained over 1000 points on Mediabase. Kenny and John were saying on Periscope during a radio visit a week or so ago that they have 9 songs cut for their next album and are prepared to release it in early 2017. That would likely mean a new single by the early Fall (September/October). I'm guessing they'll push this the next couple weeks and let it go after a solid top 20 placement. I love the song but once again, this one has no buzz and mediocre at best sales. New Revolution's promotion and their name recognition are their biggest allies. Kenny and John have probably put a ton of money into these past three singles. They have definitely made a decision to use their earned money and resources to stay active and relevant on Country radio. Selfishly, I'm happy since I've always been a big fan of this duo all the way back to "Wild West Show." This relevancy at radio won't last forever though, no matter what promo team they use or amount of money they spend.

This one I was totally okay with it taking up chart space because of how damn good it was, but I'll also be totally okay if they push this one into the Top 20 and then let it go... which is what they should have done with the last single.

Also because Tim McGraw has already released a new single and the duet with Florida Georgia Line is on the launching pad. I do not think Big Machine wants to inflate the radio with Tim's presence. I predict a few more weeks of life for this single (top 20) and then new project for Big & Rich.

"Lovin Lately" will move up to #18 on MB tomorrow if Big & Rich can pass the freefalling David Nail.
I think though once this hits Top 20 on both charts, this will begin falling.

I´ve been listening to this song for such a long time on the radio that I thought it would have achieved Top 20 already. :)) But I like this one. :)

Yikes, barf and ugh! New Revolution is going to do exactly what they did with "Run Away With You"; gun for massive overnight spins and try and eek out a top 10 peak on Mediabase with "Lovin' Lately." I love this song...but it has no business, whatsoever becoming a top 10 single on either chart.

I'm not super thrilled about this one hanging around long enough to go Top 10 on one hand, but OTOH, I'll be okay with it because I love this song and it's actually selling a lot better than "Run Away with You" ever did. If this one were to out-peak that one on the charts, I'd say it was deserved.

More Top 10s on their own than they ever got on Warner. That's messed up.

Love this song, but it should have been gone from the chart weeks ago. Hurry up and peak please.

The push has begun. "Lovin' Lately" gained 136 spins today. It's still gonna take a lot to overtake Miranda since she had an 1100 point lead over Big & Rich this Sunday but there is an open spot in the MB top 10 this upcoming Sunday..

They'll likely get it and then move on to their next album project. It'll be a successful endeavor for them and will certainly help their touring (Though perhaps not many will remember this tune in 2 years).

I actually wonder how much momentum Big & Rich have. I mean yeah they'll have 3 top 10s to their names but besides "Look At You" I doubt any of them have any real staying power. Also with the release schedule looking like a complete blood bath, I think (imo) it might be best to wait til Janurary. But that's just me spouting stuff off.

You're right but I could see them just waiting til January for the lead single rather than drop it in November/December. I did say at the latest, so I could also see a new single on PD's desk after a "Thank You" ad, if they get to the MB top 10.

"Lovin' Lately" was able to jump five spots to #10 on Mediabase this week.
Wow; didn't think this would get there two days ago. I need to see the final point totals tonight because it's got to be narrowly close with "Vice."

If there is some good news, I don't see Big & Rich lasting now that they did get the MB Top 10. I think like "Run Away With You" the moment it hits the Top 10 on MB it'll fall the following week or at the very latest the week after.
