Here's another beautiful piece of music I got from Heaven. I think this was recorded around the end of 1959. Vic Damone sings with a beautiful orchestra and chorus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=30g2n_nfaTE

Dick Clark used to flash back to songs like this on his program the National Music Survey when the show debuted in 1981. Good song!

I think you are confusing this with the Bobby Vee record, which is a completely different song. I was referring to the record by Vic Damone, not the one by Bobby Vee. Did you listen to it before you made this comment?

Yes, I was listening to this while I wrote that. I wrote that because it reminded me of the NMS when Dick Clark would flash back to the late 1950's. I can't remember specific songs, but I remember him featuring songs as far back as 1958 quite often. I don't remember THIS particular song being featured, but it was from that era.

Could you tell me how you perceive this record? Something like the way I described "Wagon Wheels". How does this record compare with today's music?

What stands out is that the lead singer, Vic is actually pouring his heart and soul into his voice. His words are well enunciated, he is a true vocalist. It's amazing how the orchestra does not back up any vocals, but they provide a whole different setting, and that is enhancing the music simply with the "ahhs". The artists of today would be lost if they were required to vocalize in this form. The album cover shows Vic dressed in a suit signifying that he takes his business (music) very seriously. No torn jeans, and no scantily clad women in the background.
