The title somewhat scares me, and I'm not familiar with the writers, but I have faith in Dierks that he will deliver quality (which is saying a lot for me considering I'm a natural born pessimist).

I am so nervous about this song. It sounds by the title like it'll be a beach song but I am hopeful it'll have more to that and most of all sound country. So excited and nervous at the same time.

I already like this based off the title alone. Interested to see what direction they take their song.

My Wish for 2016: Pulse members will not judge a song over a frickin' title. Geesh!

and I'm not familiar with the writers The writers aren't too familiar in terms of normal cuts you see from Country artists, you're right...except for Boyer. Jaron Boyer co-wrote "Hell Of A Night" for Dustin Lynch and "Riot" for Rascal Flatts. He also co-wrote "Laid Back" with Michael Tyler Spragg off Jason Aldean's Old Boots, New Dirt album. David Kuncio is a pop writer/producer. Mirenda is a Nashville based writer.

Why do you need 5 writers? That kind of annoys me.

For what it's worth, Bobby Bones was talking about Dierk's new song and said it was very, very good and couldn't wait for everyone to hear it.
That said, five songwriters does scare me a bit as well.

I know Josh Mirenda and I am thrilled to see his name attached to this! I believe this is his first big cut (he just signed a publishing deal a year or so ago), so having it be Dierks' lead single is huge! Mirenda has a song called "Look At Us Now" which is one of my all-time favorite songs. I've attached a link to that below for anyone interested :) soundcloud.com/jakehartsfield/josh-mirenda-look-at-us-nowOn a side note: I thought "Drunk on a Plane" was gonna be a disaster based on the title, and it's now one of my favorite Dierks songs - so I'll hold off on judgement based on the title ;)

I'm trying to stay positive because I believe that Dierks wouldn't want to abandon who he is as an artist. "Somewhere on a Beach" is his first single about beaches, so I don't think he's abandoning his roots, I just think he's decided that he should have another uptempo because his last two singles were slower. I have faith this will be good. The combination of these songwriters could not necessarily mean a Pop direction, I just think it happened that way. You can't just judge it based on that.

I am SO excited to hear new music from Dierks. He really stepped it up a notch with Riser, and I am gravitating towards fandom a little bit more every day :) I have always liked him, he is just not someone for whom I rush out and buy albums. But if his next album is anything like Riser, that might change soon!

I'm sure if Bobby Bones is talking that highly of it, it's probably good.
I'm never too worried from the titles. Dierks made such a big deal (as well he should have) about "Riser" being such a meaningful song, I doubt he'd follow it with a bro-fest party tune about spring break. Now if the title was "Damn Girl, We on a Beach" then maybe I'd be worried.

Btw everyone, there's a difference between being a tad worried about a title and flat out saying that it's going to suck based on the title.
Just sayin'

considering his last two single releases, I would expect this to be fun and uptempo and not liked by most folks that think everything has to be critically acclaimed. I haven't been a huge fan of most of the lead singles that Dierks has released but I've always loved the rest of the Album. I feel like he will have a great balance of everything in this era.

It looks like Dierks will be co-hosting CCUSA so I wonder if they are gonna premiere the song on that. It wouldn't surprise me whatsoever if they did. I wanna feel comfortable about this since it's Dierks but between the title and the writers I really don't know anymore. I am hoping for the best fearing the worst.

I've always loved Dierks and his music. He's so underrated and the title sounds like a late 90's summer clever song. Either way can't wait for new dierks music :)

"Drunk On a Plane", "Somewhere On a Beach" He keeps doing "on a's" and he might have a niche market lol.

Bobby doesn't promote bad music.

On the heels of the new album announcement, a bunch of DJs are tweeting they're premiering this Tuesday 1/19.

This was on Dierks' twitter page this morning and I can't speak for carriekins but I believe she's seen it already. ;) I'm assuming it's the title track.

Yes tim and sabre14 I have in fact seen it, but I appreciate the thought! I also assume that's the title track, and it sounds pretty good! I'm glad to hear the same production team from Riser is back.
