Yeah it's Frans. The song is tropical house-ish (it actually sounds a lot like Matt Simons' "Catch & Release"), and he has that sentimental teen boy thing going on. It seems like something the audience would eat up to me, but I'm pretty bad at picking winners in these types of things lol.
I actually didn't realize how divisive the songs is... oops.

Is it Frans? I've heard his song is overrated as hell but I haven't listened to it, nor have I seen the results of Melodifestivalen. Yeah, the studio version is okay. The live performance is god awful. Studio Version:

If it was public vote only, Frans would win, but I doubt that juries will like it enough

Nah I think Frans is too polarizing, I think there'd be as many people wanting to push it down as people wanting it to win, so other popular songs might get the opportunity to push past and snatch the win away from him. BTW put me in the camp of 'If I Were Sorry' is crap.

Eneda Tarifa's English version of 'Fairytale' is out... they took some of the rockiness out of it, which is what I liked so much about the Albanian-language version. :'( Why, Albania?!
ETA: LOL the Youtube comments on the official Eurovision channel's upload. Albania's getting draaaaagged seems the new version hasn't gone down well at all~

Romania has been kicked out of the EBU (and by extension, Eurovision) because the country has amassed over 14 million euros in debts to the EBU. It's unfair to their act since they'd already gotten so far in the process of preparing for the competition. Personally, I don't like their song at all, and I don't think they were expected to qualify anyway, but the least they could have done is allow Romania's entrant to follow through on this year's competition before Romania's plug got pulled.

Sandjha's song is nice but that was pitchy. I loooove that version of 'Heroes' they opened the show with.

Juri letting me down with his vocal performance right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't qualify based on this performance. :'(

Awh Iceland :( Glad that 7/8 of my faves made it through though! Especially Austria since I didn't think they'd make it.

It's the first time since the introduction of the semi-final(s) that my country (Greece) didn't make it to the final. I'm a bit sad but not as much as I'd expected to be because our song was pretty horrible. I really wanted to see Estonia make the final tho. Iceland too.

(I mean Azerbaijan wasn't either but they always qualify).

I don't think I even saw a full list of odds LOL so IDK whether she placed very highly in the betting pool. If there's anyone I thought would go through but didn't, it's Iceland. I didn't like the song but it seemed like Greta's entry was a popular one, at least popular enough to make it in.

I'm kinda satisfied with the results, as I liked 12 songs yesterday Moldova was surprisingly good as well, so it joined my other 11 faves. 9 of my favourites qualified (Hungary was the only one of them I didn't really like. It wasn't bad, just not my taste.).Extremely sad for Iceland and also Estonia(my country).

2nd semi final starting in 5 minutes!
The 10 I'd like to see go through tonight are Latvia, Serbia, Ireland, Macedonia (why not), Australia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Norway, Albania, Belgium.
This is the stronger semi for me.

I see that many of this year's performers were inspired by Heroes' staging from last year.
