So here's the opposite spectrum of being nervous from a title. This one's got me excited. I'm guessing it will be notably country.

Can't wait to hear this, Jake Owen is my favorite country singer. The title has me quite hopeful and he's yet to put out something that I flat out disliked, so I'm very optimistic. Hopefully the album will be out sometime in the summer.

This is exciting! My favourite country artist as well and I have heard this one on YouTube. Sounds really good. Hopefully album comes shortly after

Title is giving me "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" teas. I hope that Jake Owen is finally going back to the magic he struck with that album era because ever since then he's been floundering with iffy single releases after what had looked like the beginning of him breaking out with 4 consecutive #1 hits.

Those are some solid writers, and he has done well with Jaren Johnston before. This is leaving me pretty optimistic.

For what it's worth: found this video of Jake singing at the Kiss 99.9 Chili Cook-Off, never heard the song before. The lyrics are talking about loving someone, so this is probably "American Country Love Song". I like it.

^ I love the sound of this. Granted, this is just a live clip - and the studio version can differ greatly. (Lauren Alaina's "Next Boyfriend" is the only example I can think of at the moment). "American Country Love Song" is giving me good vibes, regardless. It's refreshing to not hear a "Real Life Part 2." I can't wait until we all hear the studio version.

That live clip sounds very, very promising. "Real Life" did nothing for me so hopefully this can get him back on track. ETA: Well apparently that isn't "American Country Love Song."

Actually that clip isn't of "American Country Love Song". This link below is a live version of the song Jake debuted at his fundraiser in December. The song you linked to I believe is called "When You Love Someone" as he mentioned it in his recent Q&A. Not too sure if it's on the new album or not. m.facebook.com/TheOwenArmy/posts/903985116317627

Music Row has the impact date set for March 7th. I more trust the impact date set by All Access which is March 14th, so my guess is that "American Country Love Song" will be debuted (likely by iHeartMedia stations) the week of March 7th to March 11th.

Yeah, I can see "American Country Love Song" going to radio on the 7th with the impact date being the 14th. :) Either day would be great for an impact date, though. So far, the only major label release going for adds on March 7 is Tucker Beathard's "Rock On", and the only one set for the 14th (other than Jake) is Granger Smith's "If The Boot Fits".

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one: based on the long gap between "Real Life" and this, along with Jake playing around with a country version of "Real Life" makes me think he was re-evaluating his direction.
The title leaves me optimistic that this is more of an American Country Summer Love Song and less of an American Country SlowJam Love Song.

"American Country Love Song" will debut this Friday (3/4).
Don't know about hourly iHeartMedia airplay but I'm assuming so until told otherwise.

This is decent. Very catchy, and cool production. However, not a huge fan of all the talking parts. Just sing Jake!

I actually like this song. Jake I'm glad you actually decided to have a great song production and go with something that's not polarizing.

"American Country Love Song" will debut this Friday (3/4). Don't know about hourly iHeartMedia airplay but I'm assuming so until told otherwise. YES, it's getting premiered by iHeartRadio as they have posted a video on YouTube with Jake saying thank you to iHeart for premiering it and he does a cover of "Close Enough To Perfect" by Alabama in this video.

Yep, thanks. I found out on Twitter last hour. I originally thought it was Friday but that's the iTunes release date.

Not bad on first listen. Maybe just a tad lower than my expectations (based on song title alone). I do like the chorus, definately sounds like something from his first 2 albums, and that's a good thing. I hope there is more growth of this scale on the album, and not like "Days of Gold" style stuff. I do find it odd he is yet again speaking through most of the verses....which is like the 4th time in his last 5 singles. Really would like to hear him sing for once

Really would like to hear him sing for once Don't find it odd at all; this is officially a recurring trend for Jake (talk-singing through large portions of his singles). I wasn't surprised by the verses on this song, nor the subject or production. It's exactly what I was expecting.

Wow I was not expecting it to sound like that. I don't mean that in a negative way at all. I actually really like the song a lot. The reason why I say that and why I wasn't expecting it to sound like that is because I was expecting it to sound like and be a love song not an anthemic sounding song. But after listening to the lyrics, it's not necessarily a love song, as in someone professing their love to another person, it's a song, as Jake said in the video, moments in life that we use to profess love which is a cool concept. This is miles better than "Real Life". There's no comparison. I loved this song after the first listen. My first listen after Real Life was . Hopefully Jake can reestablish his momentum with this song and I think he can. It's not polarizing at all.

This sounds very different from what I had expected. Based on the live clip posted in the thread, I expected a slower, near ballad type song. This is miles above, "Real Life." While I don't enjoy the beginning where he "talk-sings," the rest falls in to place nicely. I would agree with the above comments that the chorus sounds like something from his first two albums. 3.5/5 for me, where as "Real Life" might have gotten 0.5/5 from me.
