Now that I've gotten over my initial reaction...I wish he would have gone with "the day you stop looking back" or "learned it from the radio"

This is one of the most obvious single choices ever. This is going to be another huge hit for Rhett, and I could see this becoming one of the early songs of the summer. I personally could do without the weird vocal effect midway through the song that makes him sound like Chewbacca, but other than that I like this song. It has great energy and a fun vibe to it that is absent is most safe radio songs these days. This is most certainly another #1, and a great single choice.

I hope that once this is done we get Playing With Fire or The Day You Stop Looking Back as singles as those are the only two songs on the album I enjoy, As long as it's not South Side or Vacation I guess I won't mind.

Of Course I was hoping for Learned it From the Radio (favorite on the album by miles) but I think this one is fun. Gonna be another huge hit for him. Dude is on fire

Thomas said that Tim McGraw had "T-Shirt" on hold for a very long time -- so long in fact that he wanted it for his debut album. After Tim let go of it, Rhett was able to record it just in time to put it on his sophomore album.

Like it or hate it, this was a no brainer. Might end up being as big as Die a Happy Man. Perfect song to release for the spring/summer. The college crowd will eat this one up.
Lyrics suck, but it's insanely catchy, and that's all you really need anymore to get a hit these days.

I can see this album easily going 6-7 singles deep. This should be a smash, then you can follow it up with one of the "countrier" songs, throw in another throw away song and then end with the Jordin Sparks duet.
I see it going this way... 1. Crash and Burn 2. Die a Happy Man 3. T-Shirt 4. Learned it From the Radio/Single Girl 5. I Feel Good/Tangled Up 6. Playing With Fire

Yeah, this era has been perfectly managed and Thomas is becoming a star. His last five singles have gone platinum ("It Goes Like This" - 2x Platinum). Tangled Up is country enough for country radio to eat his music up, but he also has crossover appeal as we've seen with DAHM's sales and will see shortly when it starts to take off on Hot AC.
This album has so many hits on it, it's ridiculous. "Crash And Burn" and "Die A Happy Man" have obviously been huge. I see "T-Shirt" having similar success and going Platinum. After that, he has "Playing With Fire" (which I think will be HUGE), "Like It's The Last Time", "The Day You Stopped Looking Back", and "Learned It From The Radio" are all potential #1 hits. It's not very surprising to see this album doing huge things for Thomas.

Wow. This is embarrassingly bad. Minus his first two luke warm singles , this guys appeal completely escapes me. And as a "country" artist , he's right down insulting.

It Goes Like This Get Me Some Of That
Two of my favorite songs period of this decade. Started getting high hopes for him.
Didn't really care for Make Me Wanna too much... or the other 2 previous singles "Hands" and "Jesus" either....
Crash/Burn was literally a Crash and Burn on my charts. High hype for a new CD, but it fell off quick.
Die A Happy Man was okay, but nowhere near IGLT and GMSOT.

Lol y'all talking about loving this song but it's really a bunch of crap. If you think radio will eat this up, well then you are just plain wrong. I could see this starting out good but then it peaking similar to how Jake Owen did with "Real Life".

It's not great (and I say that as someone who's generally liked his bro-ier singles), but it's good and catchy enough that it should be able to successfully ride the monster momentum he has right now.

Do y'all actually think these R&B Country songs should really be played on the radio? I think R&B and Pop radio should be playing these instead of Country radio. If he went with "Playing With Fire" or "Learned It From The Radio" I wouldn't have a problem with that, but this "T-Shirt" song is very generic in my opinion.

This is so bland to me it doesn't even register as a song honestly..he sounds like he's talking and bored by it. I don't even think this one is catchy. For me this is the worst single he's put out so far.
I'll give it this though, I don't get the RnB vibe from this one as much as his other stuff so win?

You can dislike a song. Or hate a song. But why is it so hard to make a statement without belittling other people who happen to like a song? If people like the song, who are you to say it's crap? Edit: You can say it's crap. But I so strongly dislike people not understanding that everyone likes different things. Look at all the different forums of music on this message board alone. I probably dislike 75% of it. But that doesnt mean for one second I think that all others must dislike it too.

The artists describe themselves as country. They're in the genre. Therefore, for, radio purposes, they're country artists. It's as simple as that.

This one's not horrible, but it's not great either for me. No surprise that Tim McGraw passed on this. I'm still not convinced Thomas is going to stake a long-term place in the genre--not because of his pop-leaning vibes, but because he's established virtually no consistency sound-wise. He's kind of got a funk feel to his performances and some of his songs but I just don't sense any consistency in his "style" through 8 radio singles. Does anyone feel the same way?
I loved some of his first album's songs (Something to Do With My Hands, Beer with Jesus, In a Minute, All-American Middle Class White Boy, Take You Home, Whatcha Got in That Cup) and I feel like all of those were kind of twangy, raspy, simple, and youthful. In a very believable way. For the second album I just can't place a style.

Wonderful! Well, those that say they love this song... that is their opinion. You can say the song is crap all you want, but that doesn't make it a fact. That makes it... your opinion, which is just as legitimate as everyone else's. Glad that has been cleared up :) Now that that's behind us, I do believe I will share my opinion of the song. I have heard it a few times now, and it has been growing on me, but the vocal arrangement is still falling flat for me and so is Thomas's delivery. Normally, I don't feel this way about his music or vocals, but this one isn't grabbing me like I want it to. It is catchy though, and like I said it has been growing on me, so we'll see what happens. I haven't heard the rest of the album yet, but I plan to give it a listen eventually.

But it doesn't make any sense because these R&B and Pop Country artists probably don't even know what Country should be. They chose a extremely weird sound, it seems, at least that's what I think, to try and ruin Country music for everyone who doesn't not like their sound. Anyway Thomas Rhett is a hit or miss artist for me. There's either a good song or it's just plain bad, that's my opinion.

I think that he's gonna do something so "out there" on his third album that it could jeopardize his career in Country music. Just predicting.

Yuck. Boring lyrics and melody. Very monotone (well, except for the weird, non-country electronic stutter 2/3 through). Nothing to do with the song of course, but his rhythm /dancing isn't any better since that last weird Make Me Wanna dance video he did.
He is extremely hit or miss for me-loved Beer With Jesus (original and well sung), It Goes Like This (until radio ruined it by over-assaulting my ears with it). And I was pretty happy with his last two singles.
It's rare that an artist inspires extreme distaste, yet puts out some songs I really like.

The label is working on a "radio edit" of T-Shirt before sending it out. I'm guessing they'll back off some of the edgier production elements as it pertains to the format. Can't wait to get it on air. It's a SMASH!
