This song feels brand new.. 5 weeks in the top 10. Sales could keep it in there for maybe another month, but who knows, LIGLY may end up having had more weeks

She should take on the 1990's for album #3.

Well its callouts are horrible, and they did the same with Work so... Callouts are essentially bogus now, though, since they drastically cut the number of people being surveyed. And "Work" made sense since it's success could stem from its mass appeal to the rhythmic and urban crowd. It wasn't well received by the pop crowd. This, on the other hand, doesn't really have any other format crowd than pop, so its good sales are pretty much coming from pop. Not sure why pop would drop it so soon like that. Its streaming isn't amazing, but pure pop songs never are.

A new radio edit was just available, they replace the intro with a cold beat intro and shorten the song to 3:17.

would be surprising if this doesn't go at least top 3 since she is coming of a huge grammy win and a pretty decent era.

Watch it suddenly start rebounding just because that new edit has come available.

This must have high burn rate. I can get through the first 2 minutes and then I have to turn it off.

It's really weird, we have several examples of songs that were not really selling or being that popular (last Selena's single is a perfect example) but this comes from an artist that is very hot right now, Grammy, a bunch of hits from first album, and the song is still selling (with all Beyonce's songs and Prince's songs it seems it's way lower than it really is) and it was doing amazingly well till it hit a brick wall for no reason.
I don't get the Work comparision either. It was pretty clear from the beginning that Work will have trouble to get to the top on pop. And the 9 weeks at the top of hot 100 are very misleading because Work success is based on streamings, it only dominated sales for a short time and it did well specially on Urban. And work is more a song to have fun and dance than to hear on radio anyway.
Anyway, No was a hit (even falling short on pop), and i should create enough buzz for the album and the second single. Saying that, the video was a big mistake, it doesn't fit her at all

Looking at it, Meghan's track record on CHR hasn't been that amazing (of course no where near bad). Billboard Pop Songs peaks as I don't have time to check Kworb's archives right now
All About That Bass: #1 Lips Are Movin: #4 Marvin Gaye: #15 Dear Future Husband: #16 Like I'm Gonna Lose You: #5 NO: #7
It is strange that the heavily resisted and less pop LIGLY managed to get higher than this.

I'm not surprised actually. It really burns out quickly. LOVED it on the first listen, but I was already skipping it after one month. Make room for single #2.

YES, radio got it right for once! Based on its original takeoff I thought I'd be stuck hearing this til August. Good riddance.

This peaked right around where it should have, IMO. I've always hated it, and even for those who loved it, it burned hella quickly.

I'm a big Meghan Trainor fan, but this did burn out on me as well. I don't really care about this anymore.

I still am obsessed with this and find it to be her best song to date. I'm sad that it stalled.

Sales indicate to me that many people aren't burned out on it at all. Whether or not it's big enough to warrant Pop radio continuing to make room for it, well that's up to them as a collective whole. And it appears they've decided to not take it all the way.
It's my personal favorite single of her's thus far, but I don't think it worked on every level. The video was problematic for me - it wasn't done well enough to take it seriously and buy what she's selling, but it also wasn't cheeky enough to succeed at parody or homage. It sits somewhere in between - awkwardly.

Love Meghan and liked ll the songs from her debut but this one never clicked with me. Even find it borderline annoying to be honest. Not surprised it stalled.

y'all's opinions are cute but the fact is that sales are there, streaming is ok and the fallouts aren't bad enough to warrant such an immediate drop.

I'm really surprised that this is done on Pop radio. I really thought they'd be overplaying it through the summer. It hadn't burned out for me yet.
My personal feeling is that even more than her other songs, the message of this song is just a little too negative, too bitchy. AATB and LAM were also kiss-off songs, but I guess their sense of humor won the public over. But the big NO in this song I think was a little too much. I myself like the beat and the melody. But being a guy, the message of course does nothing for me. And for some, it may even turn them off.

So, this is charging back into the top 10 on Itunes now that things are settling while songs that still have huge bullets sink down. Its just weird to me. I don't think you can argue that people didn't like this song or "are tired of her" given the sales and even callout. Even streaming isn't bad.
Bizarre that radio didn't even send this top 5. I am worried about what the next single holds particularly if radio is going to stop caring that she is selling or that there is demand. It may be a weird Sia situation where her songs were getting HUGE streams and steady sales, but like...I am not even sure a single song of hers has actually gone top 10 or if it did it was just barely.

It may be a weird Sia situation where her songs were getting HUGE streams and steady sales, but like...I am not even sure a single song of hers has actually gone top 10 or if it did it was just barely. The first part of your post is an argument that comes around every now and then. It makes the assumption that everyone who is buying the song is as a result of the CHR radio play, and that even with that there aren't people who dislike it. There was a post in this thread earlier that tried to argue that unlike Work, the sales from this came from CHR because it wasn't played on as many formats as that. Not to say there's no merit to that argument, but it's one that gets more compartmentalized with each passing year as more avenues keep coming to year a song. Just because some people like it enough to buy it, doesn't mean that there aren't others who are being exposed to it from the same outlets that also dislike it. That's the definition of a polarizing song. But all that said, Meghan's performance on Radio has always been at least a notch or two below her performance in other areas. If you look at the LAM thread, there are several posts wondering why it's start on radio wasn't bigger given that it was he followup to one of the biggest hits of that year. DFH's sales weren't bad from what I recall, but it stalled on radio. LIGLY had a long long long climb and was pulled up partially by its continuing sales resurges, even moreso than the good callouts. AATB from what I recall grew fast either concurrent with its sales, or its sales took off first. Callouts have gotten weird after they returned with the sample size change, but when the result on paper is a higher-ish negative, and especially the low favorite, it puts the ball in their court as far as they're concerned. Because no large part feels strongly towards it positively from their end, there's no complaint on their end if they send it down. But in that is also why this may have had a short shelf life. There's a difference in a song gradually rising as it continually sells, and a song blasting off fast to be met with a polarizing reaction. This exploded very fast, which means that it got to a ceiling sooner. A slower climb may have meant a longer life, which may have provided a bigger window for label "assistance".
