This is really good, it reminds me of Destiny's Child.

If you were to have told me Meghan Trainor was going to serve me my 2016 Spring Break bop, I would've told you no.

Wow...pretty bad lol. Def has that late 90s/early 00s bland Disney/manufactured, teen r&b sound which imo is the worst era for music in modern times. Def. get why many love it here though and will prob. be a hit for her.

Don't care for it. Her nasal tone ruins it for me.

I love everything she does honestly. Huge hit for sure. She's here to stay. I think she's well on her way to a decade-long+ career.

Sounds like a little bit of Destiny's Child's Dot and something from Britney circa early 2000.

I like this. The throwback vibe is everything, I can hear like all the top pop artists from the late 90s in it That said, I agree the hook is kinda weak, or at least polarizing. I can see many loving it, but I can also see many hating it, so I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if this fizzled out in the teens and becomes her "Focus". I think the Katy career comparisons are about to end, because I'd be shocked if we were looking at a "California Gurls"-sized hit.

I was hoping for a little more, she is a huge talent and for the lead single from her second album I was expecting a monster. Nonetheless this will suffice because it is going to be huge, for anyone thinking this is going to be her focus, well that's laughable. Lick your lips and swing your hips and climb aboard the Mtrain because she is just getting started,

At first I thought people were being all over the place when they were naming all the different things this sounds like - from P!nk to Blu to Britney to Christina to Willa Ford to TLC to Destiny's Child to infinity! Those people were all from the same era but surely one song could not sound like all of these different acts?
And then I listened and yeah, this really does sound like Meghan took every pop/r&b-lite song from 1999-2001 and threw it into a studio blender. Throw in Mariah and Jenny from the block while we're at it. J. Lo would have rocked this beat and that 'untouchable, untouchable' part is fairly Mimi-esque. I'm not sure how one song manages to cover so much territory without sounding a mess, but there it is.
No doesn't sound like Focus nearly so much as it sounds like what Focus/an Ariana lead single should have been. I liked (and still like) Focus, but No has more impetus to it. I still haven't committed to fully loving it just yet - I keep getting distracted by the thought of all the other singers I would have loved to hear on this - but it sounds like a hit to me.

Obsessed. This throws me back to high school and I love everything but the chorus (which...no.)

Destiny's Child? Hell to the NO. This is more like scraps left for 3LW.
"My name is no, my sign is no." Uh, you sound like a nonsensical moron.

You do realize that Destiny's Child's very first hit was called No, No, No Part 1 right? And although the production is different, their later sound is similar to this song. On another note, I also heard my name is (beat) no, my sign is (beat) no. She means my name is (hand to the face, eye roll) no. I think that a lot of this forum is gay men, (boys?) myself included, and we can't possibly understand how it feels to be a hot girl in a bar. My poor cousin can't go anywhere with me in the city without being devoured. Every attractive woman I have showed the song to yesterday was loving it, because this is a great issue for a song to touch on, imo.

Usually I can agree that something is a hit (even when I don't particularly like it), but I just don't hear a smash in this that so many others do.
Sounds really cheap and just like a random album track from any number of pop records from 2000.

Heard it twice on the radio last night. It's gonna sail up the charts.

I too would have preferred Ariana on this I think, and I do agree that elements of it are like a more interesting Focus (or, what it could have been). I wonder what Max Martin thinks of this since it takes so many cues from his initial period of prominence.

I love meghan. Bit underwhelme.d. Sounds cheap. And it's too 90s for my liking. It's number 2 in the US but internationally doing very little which is unfortunate
