Hey people, I'm new here, and I have a doubt, and don't know if that's the right tread to ask, but: I'm a big fan of Nick Jonas's music, and I know his album ended in 41 in billboard 200 year end of 2015, but I wanna know how many copies it sold actually in us. Do somebody know about that?

But it's because I knew that by Nielsen Music he sold 388k as of 2015 agoust, so I don't think he sold just that... What was your source for this information about those 242k copies? I wanted to know where I find more precise informations about albums sales. And what's the right thread for I speak about this?

What's SPS? And 225 is just pure, but the 388 figure is legible countdown if he hits 500k for gold certification, isn't that? Hey!!! Sorry, but I have another doubt, when nick received that 1 million adjusted sales plaque that he earned last year, what it was?

SPS = Sales plus streaming
I saw a pic of that plaque. That album was never certified with the RIAA.
Labels sometimes do that. Give a plaque to an artist and then never officially certify it with the RIAA.

He's that far from that gold certification actually?

^I think he sold enough for a Gold certification.
Why don't you tweet Nick and remind him that the album may be eligible for Gold?

Hamilton Soundtrack: Gold How did this happen? Is it selling that much or is it mostly streaming? How common is it for Broadway albums to get certified?

Wow, didn't think it was doing so well! 200k from streaming and single sales is a big deal, right? It'd be over 200 million streams if I'm not mistaken.

it's fairly common for Broadway Albums to get certified for example Phantom Of The Opera is 4 x platinum though the cert is over 20 years old

It's been 5 1/2 years since a Broadway cast album was certified.
Wicked's 2xP certification....

Hamilton is so big though and with Tony Awards coming up, the sales of the album will definitely rise even more

Sorry if this question has been answered, but I read this entire page and didn't see it; how does SPS for older albums work? As in, something like Thriller can now be certified for more based on SPS, right? And is it for streams since they became part of certs, or do streams from, say, 3 years ago count toward certs as well? Isn't the Hamilton cast recording a double album? I would think it's nearing Platinum status. RIAA.com: ELTON JOHN Title: GREATEST HITSCertification Date:April 28, 2016 Label:ISLAND Format:ALBUM Award: 17xPGood for Elton. Nothing sells like a 70s hits set, though. Lol.

There's definitely *some* degree of retroactive counting, because albums like Fifth Harmony's Reflection, Halsey's Badlands, etc were certified (based on tracks + streams) the day the change was announced.
