I really like this. I get the Maroon 5 comparisons, but they're the good parts. She nails the chorus. Way way more hit potential than UTLY.

Such a feel good pop record. I like this sound from her. Hopefully I'll end up enjoying this as much as "Used To Love You".

I am so into this. It is very Maroon 5 and DNCE. I can hear it, but I love it.

Wow, I love this. Definitely the best single off the entire era so far (and I kinda loved "Used To Love You"). That chorus is pop bliss!

iTunes has already made this the 1st song featured on their Valentine's Day section. I think this could get a good boost on Sunday!

Definitely sounds like Marron 5. If they released this, it would be a decent #1 contender.

I like this. Definitely the most Gwen of her singles in the past couple years.

#36 on iTunes!
I get the Maroon 5 comparisons but to be fair Maroon 5 has admitted they were influenced by No Doubt. "Make Me Like You" is reminiscent of No Doubt at their most pop/rock moments.

Sounds like a mix of Uptown Funk and Cake By The Ocean in places, I love it (even though I don't like those songs)!

An uptempo by Gwen can go either way with me sometimes she can be a little out there for me. Boarder line obnoxious. This song is Amazing though. I LOVE it. I like other's can hear a little Maroon 5 and DCNE in there. She sounds like she's just singing a good upbeat song and not going for a hit. I am looking forward to her whole cd now. I also Loved "Used To Love Me" as well.

#28 on iTunes. Top 10 on iTunes on it's first day would be great! (Used To Love You had music video and Gavin thing going on that's why it went all the way to top 5 so fast)
Plus all the upcoming promo. I could see this outpeaking both Baby Don't Lie and Used To Love You peak on Hot 100 in it's debut week.

Love this much more than everything else from her so far this era (including the scrapped singles, obviously)! The song it first reminded me of, actually, is "Lovefool" by The Cardigans.

That's funny bc back in the day people use to think "Lovefool" was by No Doubt lol. I miss The Cardigans! Hopefully they make a comeback some day :)

It's weird to hear people saying she sounds like Maroon 5, since Maroon 5 was clearly influenced by bands like No Doubt. Maybe people forgot.

Agreed, but I don't think anyone in this thread (at least so far) has said it in a negative copycat way. What really perplexes me is when people say things like Gwen "copied" Fergie or Madonna "copied" Lady Gaga when clearly Gwen and Madonna's long careers have influenced a lot of today's pop stars in some way or another. With that being said, I think your assumption is correct and people just forget the timelines in pop music history. In other news, nice to see "Used to Love You" back in the top 100 of iTunes :)

It sounds like Maroon 5 sounds now (i.e. Sugar), which sounds NOTHING like old No Doubt. Anyway, as much as I love Used To Love You, I like this even more. I am really excited for this CD now.

More info on the "live" video airing during the Grammys when Gwen called in to Ryan Seacrest's show this morning. Apparently she will be lip-syncing to the studio version of "Make Me Like You" (like all artists do when they film a music video) but the video will be acted out (choreography, costume changes, set changes, etc.) live in one take and not edited. Then she will actually sing the song live on Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden later in the week. Source: www.onairwithryan.com/articles/latest-show-495940/gwen-stefani-talks-live-music-video-14375339/

I can't imagine the video being too elaborate since it's being done in 1 take, but I do hope it's colorful and vibrant.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I didn't love this on first listen, and it's not my favorite of the 4 songs she's released recently, it's still a great song though and I think it has a lot of potential to preform well, and it could easily grow on me like Work did, excited to see the video premiere at the Grammys
imo: BDL > UTLY > MMLY > STF

I immediately heard the Cardigans - Lovefool as well. It's good.
