One of the biggest disconnects between singer and material I have heard in I dunno how long. Atrocious.

Hope this does well for him, although it doesn't seem like there is much buzz for this.
Perhaps it'll be used in some ad/promo a la Phillip Phillips' "Home" and hit it big then?

They're trying to make him more JT-sounding. He's not good enough of a performer to pull off a song like this.

I get that he is young and attractive but...didn't he perform for years as the lead in a BAND? This sounds like a cheap attempt at a radio hit by someone like Robin Thicke or Justin Timberlake and that's not Nick's style at all. I can't imagine this doing anything.

He is actually not that young. He is 30. That's kinda old for someone just starting out.

Goodluck to Scott and to Nick, it'll be hard getting to POP radio when even solid acts like Kelly/Adam struggle to get their music played!

I'm trying to figure out what song this samples in the chorus.
I know the "You want it, you got it" is a sample of "Bust A Move."

I don't think it samples it but something in the chorus reminds me of the chorus of Robin "Thicke"'s debut single "When I Get You Alone". Or maybe it does sample something and I just can't figure it out either

Looks like Scott is doing the same thing with this song like he did with the winner's single. Send it with a deal to Cumulus stations.

Any ideas on how this is doing? Currently #39 on HAC. It should be just about to enter the Top 50. It was #57 a week or two ago, and it just recently picked up 19 more adds. I'd assume like #53.

I have not seen this song chart ITunes Top 1500 since his Idol appearance back in Mar.
The You Tube hits of that performance is very low at 42k.
The Spotify streams of the song only translates to a little over 2k in sales. And it's ultimately sales that will matter to the label.

I'm assuming this going to flop hard, but I'm starting really like this now. Such a shame.

I think the writing might be on the wall for Nick at this point. He said his album is going to be out in August. I know Scott has his back, but I just can't see him going anywhere. The only Idol from this decade that still has a shot to succeed is Phillip. Nobody after him has done anything so that still makes him the most recent.

This song seems to be following the exact same path as his Idol coronation song: relative ease at HAC, struggling at Pop and no discernible sales movement at all.

Scotty is from this decade and his last album sold more than Phillips , he still has plenty of a chance to succeed and get more top 20 country hits with the right material

And "Raging Fire" probably sold more singles than any of Scotty's singles. That's kind of the thing about country--they generally have higher album sales than pop artists, and lower single sales. I think they're both done, personally.

I mean this song is so top40 ready and maroon 5-ish. Why isnt this song connecting with the GP?

I think they're both done, personally. I get your point, but actually all four of Scotty's hit singles actually sold more than "Raging Fire" (he had two other flops). I agree both are probably done though, especially since Scotty was dropped from his label.
