If your playlist needs basic, unimpressive filler that's kinda catchy, there's this. But you don't have to take it. Callout scores are in. Highest positive, lowest negative, but on the lower end of the favorites at the same time (just a tenth below Close), and lower on the burn rate too which fits in with this. The familiarity is still on the lower end, so the other stuff will probably equalize with the rest of the chart eventually, but with the name recognition added, this should be picking back up soon.

With the movie now flopping thanks to Johnny Depp and radio still resisting the song after all the promo, I doubt this hits top 10 on Pop. Still nice that Alecia got this exposure, hopefully the album is coming soon.

Still nice that Alecia got this exposure, hopefully the album is coming soon. $40 million projected opening weekend isn't exactly flopping. It's still gonna open at number two with millions of people getting subjected to the song (assuming it's the first song in the credits or something of that nature). Besides, all of that would have affected the digital sales and streaming, not airplay. The movie was also already tracking to be sub-par of the original Depp scandal or not. This was kind of a sequel no one asked or was waiting for.

^I agree...I wouldnt say radio is resisting. Sales are pretty decent/good too. I didnt expect great opening numbers for this or Happy Feet 2...they weren't really desired for sequels, as you mentioned.

I still can't get over how well this is doing considering it's nothing really special but I guess it's not gonna turn anyone off either and make them switch Radio dials when it comes on. I love Pink though so can't hate her on her too much.

The movie flopping won't help this but I don't think it'll hurt it either.

This was kind of a sequel no one asked or was waiting for. If you read the movie trades, this is considered a major flop - with Disney criticized for not moving it to another weekend - and projections are that it won't have any legs whatsoever. Whatever exposure JLF received from movie peaked this weekend. The song now stands on its own merits and we know lots of hit singles that came from flop movies over the years.

Did anyone think a sequel to a not well received movie that was only successful because of the visuals and director/actor combo would be on the radar longer than a week, though?
The song is still #3 on iTunes and is gaining. Whether that's from the movie or it's own merit is anyone's guess. I never expected it to get a huge boost from the movie anyway. Anyone that did was drastically overestimating this movie. (I honestly think it's doing better than I expected.) Especially up against X-Men and Captain America.

I think this will do fine without the movie being big. It's done better than I think anyone expected so far.

I think DWTS also helped this song. Ginger did an awesome job with the tango moves for JLF :) youtu.be/LD9upjmxTqw

Anyone that did was drastically overestimating this movie. (I honestly think it's doing better than I expected.) Especially up against X-Men and Captain America. Disney put Alice on Memorial Day weekend first and then the other movie moved there. Disney has been ripped in trades for not moving it. (Honestly, based on everything I read, it sounds horrible - I think they dumped it there.) The fact that it's still a solid #3 on iTunes is incredibly impressive. As far as JLF, it's tipping point now on Pop side - today it was pushed down to 17 on daily building chart. Do we think the callout scores will result in a significant uptick? There doesn't seem like there is any other promo that forthcoming, so it's up to radio at this point. I just hope P!nk is in studio so we get a late-summer single and new album in fall. JLF has been an effective 'buzz' single to get her back in mainstream public eye.

I saw the movie yesterday and this does sound great played over the end credits - it was made more for the movie then to be a groundbreaking radio smash.

Top 20: Check Now it must get to the top 10, hopes the sales and airplay keep up and that streaming joins the two soon.

They'll end up rushing the movie to DVD to try to salvage what they can and turn a profit. It cost $170 million to make and only grossed $105 globally opening weekend. With the terrible reviews and bad word of mouth, it will be lucky to break even.
That shouldn't change much for the song though. It was pushed well enough in advance of release and is doing sufficiently well to stand on its own.

The song's doing fine who cares if the movie flops from here on out. I consider this a hit. There's plenty of songs from flop movies that have done well.

Anyone from the US, pls put the song on repeat on Spotify or YT. She has a chance to go top 10 next week.

105 million opening week is great. Yes, it cost more, and hopefully, they'll break even or make a little more. I definitely want to see it in theatre. I have a free movie pass, I should go!
