Pink is interesting... her music is basically mediocre but she just has that SOMETHING in her. And she always makes songs her own, no matter who have written them. I'm a big fan

This is a very paint-by-numbers and has already stopped feeling like a new song to me, but I enjoy it as a standalone soundtrack song.
I always want to see success for anything and everything Pink does, so I hope the song continues to do well for her.

I think she should be aiming higher than this type of song at this point in her career, and won't be remotely surprised if she reveals three years from now that she never wanted to record this. The rap verse was particularly ill-advised.
With that said, there's a hole for these lyrics rand it's better than at least half of what's at radio right now. Her first singles are always growers for me, anyway.

I like it. It's not groundbreaking but it's solid pop.

I honestly like this more than anything from her last album. Some of the production there was so grating (i.e. Blow Me) that I couldn't enjoy it.

Same here - the production in "Blow Me" was really obnoxious and hard to listen to. I did love a lot of her last album though, but aside from "Just Give Me A Reason," I wasn't really into the singles.

I like this. It's nothing amazing, but average Pink is better than 90% of what's out there (for me, at least). I hope this does well enough (top 10-15) to set her album up nicely (assuming this is just treated as a stand alone soundtrack song).

I was afraid she'd have a so so adds week but over 100 is pretty good. Most added on Hot AC too as expected.

This sounds more like typical Katy Perry than typical Pink for me. Anyway, I think it is solid and it sounds like a hit. Would probably have been a number 1 single for Katy Perry - will be interesting to see how it does for Pink.

It's interesting how hard this is getting pushed with it just being a soundtrack single. Especially since nothing from the last film's soundtrack wasn't even pushed this hard.

Why change things up if the general public are enjoying? Cause you become stagnant, boring, and predictable. Not a good look for someone so talented. *** Back to #10 on iTunes (#4 peak as far as I know). #5 on pop iTunes. Nice to see it smashing at radio. I see at least a top 20/10 hot 100 peak. I personally love the bridge. I think it's the only thing different for her. Sidenote, her voice reminds me of Madonna when she says unnhmm/mmhmm in parts. Lyrics are pretty mediocre and the verses have been done before. Better than Today's The Day but not one of her top tracks.

It's coming from a soundtrack, why are we expecting it to be the best thing ever?
It's fine for what it is.

I Will Always Love You (and Lady Marmalade) anyone lol Plus, this is better than Blow Me and that was an album first single. Some could say the same about Trouble and Stupid Girls...Definitely better than Feel Good Time. People can have their opinions. I don't think soundtrack is an excuse for a good or bad song.

While this is true, we already have the last film's soundtrack letting us know not to expect crazy quality music. This is for Alice in Wonderland, not The Hunger Games. It's certainly a major improvement on Avril's "Alice."

Yeah soundtrack song =/= low quality, but you do have to consider what film the soundtrack is for. Alice In Wonderland is supposed to be weird and goofy, so you should expect a light fluff song. The Hunger Games and Divergent included serious themes so you could expect more serious songs. Fifty Shades Of Grey was steamy and romantic (supposedly), so you could expect sexy or romantic songs. Furious 7 was action-packed and thrilling, so you could expect something upbeat and loud (or sentimental for the sentimental moments like "See You Again"). The Smurfs is a fluffy kids movie, so of course "Ooh La La" was gonna be fluffy and childish.
It really all depends on the movie.

I like the guitar, but this is pretty generic. She better come harder with the album, I want diversity!

Could the big push for this signify an actual album era starting after this single? If this does well enough, including it on her next album (if the album comes soon after this) wouldn't be a horrible idea.

I think for what the song was trying to do, it did a good job.
Blow Me was okay, but I do=nt really ever care to listen to it anymore lol. Stupid Girls is average at best as well, I rarely ever listen to that

I didn't realise there was such dislike/indifference towards Blow Me. I love that song - although it really fit my situation at the time and so I think maybe I have my own reasons to love it.
I agree that Stupid Girls is pretty average, although I loved the message and the video.

Love that Pink was chosen by Disney for this. So far one of the best launches of her career in terms of buzz and budget and stuff. The video will be great but what could really push the song forward is the animated sequence playing at the movie's end credits. Kids will really love that.

Blow Me is obviously a lot better than this cuz of immediate Pop hook. I see this getting a New Romantics/OOTW treatment.

But that thread is riddled with people claiming the exact opposite. Also, lol at claiming this not having an immediate hook (which, IMO it does) will cause it to fail and then claiming it will follow the runs of two songs with strong pop hooks. Hooks don't always equal success.

I don't think it's too suprising, considering its the soundtrack for a massive movie. "Alice" got pushed from the first movie, but didn't get a very positive reception and flopped. Not to mention that the movie managed to perform exceptionally well, grossing over $1 billion. P!nk is essentially coming from her best era radio-wise so it makes sense to push it. Especially if P!nk is releasing an album soon, it can serve as a way to get P!nk back out there before her lead single comes out.
